Moneyball column... there's some Cash quotes. The article is completely fascinating, about the movie falling apart, and what is Beane's legacy. If you're a baseball fan this column is a must-read

Errors + mediocre-crap pitching by Sabathia = loss.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I think his career is over. His foot led to hip problems and later shoulder problems. He clearly doesn't want to plant on his foot anymore. Which means his sinker won't sink and he's putting too much torque on other joints/tendons. I hope I'm wrong and I hope the Yankees give him a chance but if I could bet on it I 'd bet he's out of the league by the all star break next season

I think Wang's on a one year contract, so this could be his last year in pinstripes if that is correct. His injury problems and ineffectiveness in the playoffs aren't going to help him here. Mitre is also a sinker ball pitcher (also on a one year deal) and at this point, he's looking better than Wang has. He seems to want it more. Wang needs to get his head straight.

Don't think that's going to happen... even Nick Swisher stopped trying to involve him in the clubhouse... Wang's head is just effing strange

Yeah, at this point it'd be less painful to watch Igawa pitch. What a shame. These guys have good enough stuff that all they have to do is hit the glove. He's definitely looking like a head case. I haven't seen too many guys bounce back and be effective after they lose their confidence

i would trade more B level prospects for halladay and take rios contract in return as well. we lose damon + matsui + nady's deals next offseason so we must get an OF. and the OF prospects aren't that great next offseason in terms of free agents so we could use rios.

Im hearing some rumors of a 3 way deal:

Yanks Get: Halladay
Jays Get: Figgins and Vlad
Angels Get: Posada, Hughes, Melky

I cant see that as being a real trade that the Yanks would make midseason

no way in hell that happens. leaves the yanks with no catcher and no OF...

Unless they are very confident in Cervelli and are very confident in Austin Jackson. If not, that trade gives us a great pitcher and a big black eye in other places.

That is not real considering the Jays wanna slash payroll. Does Vlad slash payroll? I don't think so.

Anyway, I wouldn't make that trade unless Cleveland somehow got involved and gave us Victor Martinez.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
