Bitching and moaning after eliminating the Celtics 4-2 is lame.

The Celtics took the Heat to 7.

Not THIS Celtic team. Lets not get it twisted.

Ladies and Gents, you never know how far a team will go. Its been 13 years, enjoy this. My first reaction was anger because of the timing, but now I just feel bad for anyone who isn't enjoying this win after all these years. Of course we want to go futher but it doesn't mean this victory over the Boston Fing Celtics isn't sweet. If we can't enjoy it what's the point? Goodnight.

J-Kidd didn't score any points in the last 4 games, and he had 11 points in the series. Damn shame Woody kept going to him when other guys were red hots.

Well you cant blame fans for being a little upset. After the 3rd quarter ended we were ALL ecstatic. The Knicks played great for 3 quarters. Hell they played even better in teh first few minutes of the 4th. then they stopped playing completely. So yeah im happy we finally won a round but im very disappointed how we played down the stretch after playing so good most of them game

Check their defensive ratings without Rondo. No Rondo? Who didn't we have? Why is everyone trying to flush this victory down the toilet? So wrapped up in being right.

The Celtics took the Heat to 7.

How do you look at yourself in the mirror?

Two totally different Celtics teams

Thats true. rondo and allen were on that team

Papabear Says

Wrong buddy Green is better than Ray Allen. The Knicks played 2 teams tonight the Celtics and the refs.

Yeah lets blame the refs again.

The refs were part of the problem. If you DVR'd the game check every KG screen and he should have fouled out 3 times over in that one quarter alone.

the refs were definitely awful, and I completely agree with KG getting away with murder, but worrying about that is like worrying if the sun is going to come up

Look the refs made some bad calls but that happens from time to time. Thats no excuse for blowing a 25 point lead in the 4th qauretr withing 3 minutes

completely agree

All i'm saying is that Woody isn't above reproach and you guys saying that those of us who are criticizing him are off base need to get a reality check. There are some serious concerns with the way this team handled this series and the competition only gets better from here. Let's not try and pretend that there aren't legit areas of concern. I'm glad we won but this wasn't a clean and convincing win over a weakened 1st rd opponent. We were not playing our game for LARGE portions of this series. That shouldn't happen. Not when it's as simple as ball and player movement. Something the coach is supposed to have the most control over.

I've never been so disgusted and disappointed by a playoff series win.

it was 13 years ago ... you probably don't remember well enough ...

i will take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day

I've been a Knicks fan since the Ewing/Starks/Oakley era. I remember.

I'm disappointed by the general attitude of everybody on this team not named Felton and Shump. I'm disgusted b/c this team got bored and decided they would coast their way to the semis, despite the fact that there was PLENTY of time left in the game. This, against a team with veteran future HOFers, on THEIR home court.

I'm truly disappointed if this team thinks they will win a championship playing this way. They won't.

Not playing Prigs and allowing the Knicks to slow their game down to a crawl so that they lost all intensity made no sense. Woody seems not to realize his 2 top players are not playing well and Melo could be hurt. Woody should be making more use of the guys who are actually going well.

Now I see why the Hawks fired him even though they were a 50 win team.

Knicks just won their first playoff series in over a decade. The genius didnt do that. Come on man. Felton said it. 'We got sloppy.'

Man don't give me that ish! This is about more than this series which we should've won 2 games ago. Woody has been making bad decisions and hasn't shown he's up to the task in the playoffs just yet. If this was the Pacers or Heat we lose.

Felton says we got sloppy but that wasn't the problem. It was Woody allowing the team to lose it's intensity with that prevent offense. Having Melo and JR in there at the same time when neither have been hitting or playing well. It just goes on and on...

Listen mr big picture you need to relax and enjoy something that hasn't happened in 13 years. Where was this wonderful analysis when the Knicks had talent and still sucked @ss with your boy in charge. Sorry but I am going to enjoy this and look forward to Sunday.

Carmelo wasn't at his best. But after Boston cut a 26-point deficit to four, Melo scored 7 straight points. He was big when they needed him

I could care less about all the negativity right now. This team is doing everything it set out to do and yet we're still whining. Don't get me wrong, that was a collapse, but how soon do we forget that we were down by 20 and cut it to 5 just 2 games ago
This is a teaching moment and learning experience. We got the pressure off us w/ getting out the first round, and I expect for us to do a lot better next round.

Positives:
Shumpert - looking like the player many thought he would be
Felton - playing with extreme toughness and shutting up a lot of so-called knowledgeable basketball experts.
Pablo - Playing great defense and starting to shoot with confidence
Tyson - actually showed up and looking better each game
Martin - What a great sign. Starting to love this guy

Need Improvement
Melo and Jr - Get in the gym right now and shoot 1000 jumpers. Right now.
Mental collapses

Congrats on reaching our goals so far

1. Winning 50+ games - check
2. Winning Atlantic Division - check
3. Win first playoff series in 13 years - check

Ugly win but it is what it is...Positives, Shump and Felton are confident players as a result of Melo being off...Woody made some mistakes but he too can learn from them and this is a good time..Kidd is done..JR needs his confidence back as well..This series had lots of take away for the team...Huge learning moments...Lets see where it takes us...

you have to give the Celtics defense credit... I don't think they'll face another team that will dig down this deep on defense again... I hope the reason the Knicks stopped moving the ball is for that reason anyway and not just a lack of commitment

Bradley completely shut Felton down over the last few mins. Face guarded him and wouldn't let him touch it.....

The Good news is that Boston is gone. They are a nightmare for Melo. For whatever reason they have had a lot of success against him. I expect him to do better in Round 2. JR Smith has really lost a lot of money this series. So for his sake he needs to have a bigtime series against the Pacers

There is so much to take away from tonight. A series win that might just put an end for the decade in the Isiah desert once and for all. The end of the Celtics dynasty, with the real possibility that Pierce and Kevin Garnett might never play together again. Carmelo Anthony reaching the second round for the second time in his career. A semifinals matchup that looks potentially enticing, and winnable. The Knicks reaching a point they haven't hit in more than a decade directly after their most divisive offseason in memory. But right now, let's all just revel in it. The Knicks just won a playoff series. It has been so long. They're going to play the Indiana Pacers, with the winner heading to the conference finals. We'll deal with that later. The Knicks beat the Celtics and have advanced. Everybody drink. Everybody celebrate. Everybody exhale.

This is the truly scary part of Woody as a coach. He does so good but then in the playoffs he has these mind numbingly bad stretches. He has to get his act together!!! Why NO PRIGS in the 4th? Why did they have to go away from Felton and force it to Melo every time down? Just so many things that drive you crazy. I'm glad they won, but this wasn't the best coaching performance at all.

Please stop..U are the biggest supporter of one of the worse coaches this organization has seen...When was the last time MDA made it to the second round...How many years has it been..Is it doable without Nash...So, silence and enjoy the win...

You take a shot at mda as a knick coach, means you were under a rock for his tenure

Who was under a rock?., me or u??..Name one time MDA overachieved with his roster..Just once...

Im excited and ready for round 2. I disagree with Melo shooting 1000 jumpers though. Hes gotta rest that shoulder and get ready for David West.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.
