They showed up against the Mavs despite some defenses lapses. The effort was clearly there. They looked totally crappy against HOU.

114 points is hardly showing up atleast not by the standards the made for themselves.

Well, the Mavs hit a good amount of threes in the 3rd. The lapses I referred to were mainly in the 3rd where Carter and Crowder were repeatedly left wide open. The Knicks really clamped down at some point during the 4th and the game was very winnable. The HOU game was really out of hand from the beginning.

funny thing, jason kidd sounded a bit bitter.. he said they were focused on the guys playing at a high level, parsons and harden, and pretty much said lin was playing well but they were not focused on him... so go figure.. if we were focused on harden and parsons then we did a piss poor job of focusing.

I watch all rocket games, lin and harden get into the lane a lot, the cause problems, and parsons is also good off the dribble as well as catch and shoot.... asik just does what he does, every single night.... the rockets are young and put together well.. they have to focus more on defense and keeping the turnovers down.. that hurts them a lot..

Long Live Winsanity

"Once we go out on the court, all the goes out the window,'' Chandler said. "I don't have friends on other teams. I bear a Knicks jersey and that's it. I've been that way my entire career. If you don't wear my jersey for 48 minutes, we're enemies."

With the way he played last night, that quote seems more an empty platitude than a genuine expression of his mentality.

Same old Knicks.

True. Every team gets blown out. Even the Heat got blown out once or twice last season. But this can't be a regular occurrence. The Knicks proved early on that they can play defense. They just need to commit to it.

Lin has played like ass all season. Why would anyone focus on him. Further, focusing on a player does not mean you will stop them (Harden). Chandler Parsons was not doubled in the first half and was given the jump shot throughout the first half. I did not watch the second half so cant comment on the defense played on Parsons then.

Bottomline, Knicks got smashed and embarrassed and decimated. No ifs or buts. Kidd probably got asked a question about Lin and gave an honest answer as all the media cared to talk about was Lin in relation to this game. Anyone facing the Rockets is probably focusing on Harden then Parsons / Asik. At this point teams WANT Lin to shoot the ball.

I don't see how you concluded Kidd was bitter. The only bitter people would be Knick fans since the Knicks barely showed up for this game.

They game planned for Lin in the sense that they wanted to embarrass him. They clearly game planned for him, that's why people like Tina Cervasio, Nate Taylor, and reporters at Lin's postgame asked about the extra attention he got (which makes no sense because he's not even the 3rd best player on the team). Knicks failed on that one.

I loved Kidd's butthurt response.
