Brooklyn has reached agreement on a 4-year, $61 million max deal with Brook Lopez, league source tells Y! Sports.

Holy ****! $15M/year for Eddy Curry 2.0?!

Brook Lopez is decent player. Eddy Curry is a piece of ****. you're way off base.

brook just broke his foot twice in one year. not a great sign for a big man. cost yao ming his career.

eddy curry averaged 19ppg and 6rpg and actually led a team to the playoffs in his early career.

brook has never done that, actually played for the worst team in the modern era (12-70 nets) and already makes more than curry ever made.

Eddy Curry sat the better of 2 years because he was a fat piece of **** that didn't care if he saw the court or no.

Breaking a foot how many times - is light years away from what Curry has been for 11 years.

But I hear ECurry's working out seriously now! I think he reinvents himself and becomes the world's largest SG! Jesus, look out!

The only difference between Eddy Curry and Brook Lopez is Lopez stays in better shape. Neither one of these guys are worth anything close to the deal Lopez just got.

Talk of Amnesty on Darko. 10 mil over two years.

MDA messed these guys up good huh? (sarcastic application!)

I don't blame Donnie for taking a flier on these guys but don't blame MDA for not playing them.

I would pick both of them for the vet minimum, I think they both can play.

AR one more shot playing the 4 with Camby/Tyson to mentor him.
We still do not have a couple Lebron stoppers. Even if not to guard Lebron, Heat have mobile big men, and they all have range.
He is still a lot of talent/length, and athleticism.
I would hate to see him go to the Heat, we don't have any mobile defensive big men that can go out of the 3pint line and come back in time.
I don't know if JJ is going to be offered a contract, he might want more than the vet min.
With all the age we have on the roster already, I feel as though we should be acquiring some fresh young legs, under 26-30, players that are in the "PHYSICAL PRIME".
A balance of veterans and young bucks, young legs vs determination, energy vs leadership, hunger vs control, and athleticism vs determination.

Darko, was once a solid rotation center, he got the 5m a year for a reason.
Look back to see what did Darko do RIGHT after the trade for 2 straight years?
I don't want to get back in a debate about that, I have done in enough the past.
His next year is team option, so amnestying him would be a good thing for Darko.
I think a team should take a chance on him with his contract.
Twolves are clearing roome for Battum, like the way moved out Jamal Crawford, ZVBO, AL Harrintgon, etcs.
Pevlovic is their starting center and he is another solid Euro Center.
With our lack of roster spots, I probably wouldn't want Darko because he cannot play PF/C, only Center.

Darko would be a great pick up for Nets of the waivers, his contract has value, being a team option for the following year.
Darko is a a decent rebounder/defender and shot blocker. He has had some injury problems the past 2 years.
He has some post moves and can hit a 12 footer, pretty agile for a center.
If Dolan doesn't mind paying TAX, he would not be a bad pickup for a rotational player, and a trading pawn to use at the deadline/draft day.

Strange take on garbage players Nalod. Doesn't MDA's system inflate everyone's numbers though(Q Rich, Diaw, Marion, Duhon, Felton, Lee, Lin etc)? Least he could have done is play these scrubs to inflate their value or see if they might even stick. Guess that's just MDA's genius intuition knowing they would stay scrubs in the future!

LOL - priceless.

B/c AR played like sheot when he was with us and Darko had a piss poor attitude (Which Darko admitted). Why should have MDA played those 2?

I was being sarcastic. The guy calls the "garbage players" then proceeds to accuse the coach for not playing them in the same sentence. Only in NY.

My bad, I meant to respond to chuckbuck. I've been making that arguement for the longest time though. It's crazy how people wanted those 2 guys to play despite how terrible they were.

Me too. Can't believe how people used to keep saying AR can 5 positions and Darko was going to proved MDA wrong in Minny. Oddly enough MDA was right on both cases. MDA being constantly blamed for these utter and complete losers very Rush Limbaugh/Fox TV like. They say something so it must be true.

@loweycue..i agree..u had me 100% til u mentioned the rush limbaugh comment...im not even gonna go there...im just staying away from politics...but i agree, MDA knew some bball...he was just stubborn on some things
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I thought he signed with atlanta. I read an article praising Danny ferry and saying Randolph's best basketball was ahead of him. Linked to it off slick sports MBA feed

It was pretty obvious the way dantoni was yelling at Randolph in that first exhibition game in Italy that he wasnt going to be getting a lot of run in my.

Question for the experts: if Linn didn't sign his offer sheet, can he be used in a 3 way deal with Orlando and Houston where we send Linn out and get back Jason Richardson?

I have no idea if it's possible but if it were why would we want to? Lin is worth way, way, way more than just Richardson.

I only ask because based on the moves we have made already, we are in win now mode and not develop a young PG mode. Grunwald's comment that Linn would 'likely' return just git me thinking if he is looking at something.

you can and should do both at the same time. Imagine if the Celtics gave up on Rondo that first year.

I never realized that young players/rookies can't help teams win.

Don't dissagree, but if you could cherry pick a couple of assets from 2 desperate teams for say Linn (who you know Houston is interested in), Gadz who is not guaranteed and a good sweetener for a complicated deal (orlando) and cash (don't think we sent money out in the Camby deal) i'd think you would look at it if it makes sense. Just don't know if the CBA permits it. If Houston was to give up Lamb (which is like getting our 1st rd pick back) and say we also get richardson from Orlando....would you consider it?

No, I wouldn't even consider trading Lin for Jason Richardson and the 12th pick in a draft.
