What do you believe happens when Brunson and OG have zero usage? Definitional term for this is StarPhuch.just not enough usage to go around - you need role players.

do you need more role players or just better ball movement?

Role players. You can’t assume that 3 guys each with 35% usage are going to produce the same way. There isn’t enough ball. So you are reducing their production by literally taking the ball out their hands. You need guys that can be productive without the ball in their hands. I think 3 stars is too many. I think there is room for synergy and for rotations - don’t get me wrong it’s not absolute, but I don’t think folks should overlook usage when combining players.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Seen a few mocks where Mikal goes to Spurs and they send 2 firsts and Vassell to MIL.

I think they would need more than that. Giannis is a top 5 player in the league. Spurs need to Ante up more picks and another young player like Castle.

And Milwaukee would hang up. You need to hand over a ****load of swaps and McBride and any of the rookies they want. Maybe all of them.

Yea there was way more to it but that’s how we got the picks I’m sure MIL desires.

IMO the key is getting NO involved to give MIL back the he of their picks.

This is awesome.
When there is smoke. there is no fire!!!!!
But, we do know Leon keeps it close to the vest so perhaps if so, and there is no Kidd thing to happen.

But. may of us were talking about KAT for months, I was thinking it was Mitch and not DDV that would have gone but it was talked about once iHart was leaving. Randle was a natural fit for Minny.
Brunson signing was well telegraphed.
Dallas is conspicuously not made any statement about denying knicks so one might surmise its being pondered. NO surprise if he comes out with an improved extension given the rebuilding aspect or will be made looked at as the villain and leave. Not Kidds first rodeo. Its a business.
Bottom line is Luka blows his ACL Nico/Durmont gonna look like the smartest men in Texas.

Not to forget, Mav's screwed up on Brunson, come back (at a higher price!) with Kyrie. They go to finals never the less.

Also Casey Smith was fired from Mavs. We did not poach him. Great hire!!!

Sam Merill could be an interesting shooter to replace Shamet if he takes the min or TPMLE

He has nothing to gain from summer league. We need PG depth behind Brunson. Its interesting that no one has asked for his rights in a deal. Even the Nets wanted a future swap instead of maybe a flyer on Rokas

Candidates they went into - Gary Trent Jr., Sam Merrill, Jake LaRavia and Guerschon Yabusele. I like Jake the best, but I'd take any of these guys.

Interesting interview:

On having his name called at the draft- He doesn’t remember much of it as he was shocked, and didn’t know he was going to the Knicks. “For starters, you are very happy to be in the NBA. Then, the Knicks, we know that franchise so it’s even better.”

On knowing he was going to be selected- He said there was no 100% certainty but they climbed upon draft rankings.

On testing his luck on NBA- For him it was all about experience. He wanted to come here early at 19 so he can learn the game, that’s different from Europe, and be more established by years 3 and 4.

On playing on a big franchise with pressure vs a younger, less scrutinized team- He said that while all situations have their peculiarities, he raves about how good his teammates are in NY and also about the coach being good for young players as he taught them discipline.

On the biggest differences for him: The number of games, how quickly you have to recover because you have another game in one or two days. Talks also about playing against the players he previously saw on TV.

When they show his highlights against WSH one of the men, who I assume is a coach, states the importance of always working hard and Pacome agrees repeatedly.

On playing in the playoffs- “Its always a pleasure after all the hard work. I tried to help however I could even if the score wasn’t going our way…”

On what he learned while playing on the NBA- He mentions the importance of having your routine, as every player has one and as a young player it’s important for him to see that. Also impressive for him was the scouting: “on defense, nothing is done accidentally or by chance…”

On fans in the playoffs- “It was crazy. Usually you say that NBA fans aren’t like fans in Europe, but I fell on a team that I don’t think we can really say that…”

On what the team lacked so it could still be playing in June- he talks about details, discipline on key points and “…we talked a lot about transition and it was very problematic for us…”

On next season- “Honestly I’m focused on Summer League and the rest is out of my hands…”

On his objectives for Summer League- “…to show that you can have a spot on next year’s team…”

He was curiously asked if he sees himself as a a point guard or a small forward (seemingly to bring Brunson to the discussion- “I see myself as a small forward but I first trained as a point guard…”

On Brunson- “A very clutch player… a natural leader both on and off the court…”

On the Hack-a-Mitch- “It was surprising, especially on the first game… but after that he was working really hard on that…”

I have high hopes for this kid. He seems bright, we obviously saw the talent and he seems determined to become the best player he can be at the right time.

I honestly think that we should bring him in, even if as a two-way contract alternating between the NBA and the G-League. I think he would be interested in that and we would finally maximize an asset like this.
