The draft will inevitably create log jams and a lot of these guys or guys from last year will be looking for jobs in the not too distant future. agree but let's be honest with ourselves. The most exciting thing, usually, about a second rounder is the hope that the organization knows about a diamond in the rough, or someone they can develop or stash In this draft, it wasn't very exciting even in the first round, so I totally get Phil passing on the second when the rate went up. If we bought just for the sake of buying, that makes no sense. We'll have some already stashed players (including Labiere [sp?] who really has very quick hops and Wily) and a bunch of our D-league types to get excited about instead. For example, with the possible exception of the UVA guard, all the 2d-round SGs seem inferior to Jimmer to me, and I'm not a Jimmer fan (5)(7)

Ibaka is a good player but I don't feel he is worth all that. makes no sense for either team IMO. Does Ibaka start, pushing back Gordon? Does Orlando know something about Oladipo, who IMO has underperformed and lacks consistency OKC gave away a key piece to their team. They must be high on Sabonis to replace Ibaka or perhaps that Colorado kid who played well in the playoffs. I personally think OKC has serious doubts about retaining KD and Westbrook and might be planning ahead. (5)(7)

We wont know at least until camp if Phil sitting out the draft was a good or bad idea. Apparently this is the first time in 21 years that the Knicks didnt participate in the draft. Was this the worst draft class in 21 years? IDK. I do know that we just traded away a center in his prime and last year's first round pick for a PG who has a great deal of trouble staying on the court. Following that up with no pick in the draft for the first time since since 1995, and we still have a gutted roster.
As I said, the ramifications of staying out of the draft isn't clear yet, have to see how things develop, but I cant say the last couple of days have been particularly satisfying. |

Now they'll have to max Fournier this summer and max Ibaka next summer... weird move. ¿ △ ?

chandler: derozan staying has been a lock for months. he was never leaving. i wouldn't be surprised if he takes a slight discount.
crushalot: ujiri is as tightlipped as they come. no leaks/rumors from his side at all. the skal rumor was complete BS as we had a chance to get him at 27 and passed. ujiri likes smart players that are long, athletic and play defense but also are unselfish and move the ball. his one long term project was bruno but every other pick has been older. poeltl looks like he might be able to play right away. |

And to the left of him was a dude in all blue that I could have sworn was you. Looked like Grant Hill with more facial hair. I was like that has to be DJ.
