Melo's wrist might be affecting him but I believe its a confidence issue more than anything else. The best looking shots lately have been on a catch and shoot instead of isos. Less time to over think things like he would with an iso, if he isn't feeling it.

Stat is looking better defensively than I've seen him since him in a while. Lin is fearless, takes a beating and keeps going right at them. Great job and the kind of performance we'll need in the playoffs.

He is but I want to see him in better position and rebound better. Jimmy Dykes(ESPN NCAAM analyst) always comment about how what makes Davis of UK such a good defender is that he makes blocks because he is in positions as opposed to defenders who blocks shots because they're out of position. Well STat is blocking shots because he is out of position not because he is in position. However, he is picking up the switch better and did not leave the shooter at the top of the Key. The Defense is in there and I liked that tonight we got to see that.

Great points, its been a problem since Amar'e first got here. I see an improvement in Stat's reaction time. You can almost hear a "tick tick tick" sometimes before he reacts. I don't know if its losing weight, or it could be his improved offense sparking his defense, not to mention Woodson's emphasis on defense overall. Maybe a combination of all three. Just happy he's coming around.

That what a coach who is a FIGHTER sounds like...and it keeps the troops motivated.

WOODSANITY, baby!

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I love the fact that this wasn't the prettiest games and our shots were a little off and Melo went a little Cold as well as Lin in the first half and somehow we still came out with a win. Also, no Novak's Triple Discount Check tonight either.

Woodson stuck with the defense tonight, and I can dig it...but can't find more than one shot for Novak (which he drilled, by the way)?

Teams are going to wonder why in the world Lin goes into Linsanity mode in the 4th. He's dangerous in the 4th all the time.

Lin was jacking up last second shots, as nobody was getting open as the Knicks weren't playing MDA offense. Lin's strength is going to the rim. This style of offense reduces his turnovers which is great, but it can be too confining at times. The beauty of Woody is that he released Lin's hounds during the 4th. Woodson has a much more balanced game plan that works better for this team. I think he holds on to the good parts of MDA's offense, but also knows when it is appropriate to pull of the pedal and when to get more aggressive.

I do miss "Closer Melo"

Really hope he is just going through a bad stretch and will soon bust out of this funk. He is extremely important to our aspirations.

Today even Woody admitted that he's not the overriding difference in why the team is playing like this. He hasn't totally changed up everything but those subtle changes have been good. Still this team isn't exactly clicking on all cylinders offensively. This has been about the improved intensity on D. You don't have to look any further than that. It's the same reason the team won during Linsanity. The DEFENSE was working on a high level. It was true then and it's true now.

Same (oh bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa - MDA was just as good and its not the coaching change that made a difference) repetition in every thread. Kinda sad that you feel the need to do this.

I think a lot is different. These guys are playing as a team. The team has been playing defense at a championship level. There is no worry that guys won't fit in a point guard dominant offense. Everyone is buying in and the effort is off the charts. I think some guys might have needed a little more guidance, structure and leadership from their coach.
