Best post of the night especially the astute use of the word fake. It's incredible how snakes climb back into their holes after a win like tonight!

I think you should spend some time here before you go after guys like that. It was a great win but there are a lot of reasons to question the trade. Guys that have been here during all of the losing and watched the star chasing in the past have a right to be synical. If you know anything about basketball and look at what the Knicks gave up it is easy to see both sides in regards to this trade.

I do look at both sides. I'm questioning posters like Briggs who are constantly posting nonsense and negative posts. Their objectivity should be questioned not mine.

Briggs knows his stuff. He is a bit of a legend. Last year he treated anyone that could go to a Knicks game from this forum.

When the Knicks were scrubbing it up Briggs was the only person making threads here, at least the majority of them.

More over I cant really fault him for not feeling this trade, we gave up a nice little core, while I am happy the Knicks made the deal, I was also depressed two games ago when they were not playing for us. I am sure winning will take it all away, but say we lose the next couple of games, all the people going crazy right now will be nonexistant and I am also sure Briggs will still be the only cat making threads on this site...

I would say I've been spying on this board for years without posting and this was like a support system for us wounded Knicks fans. So gotta respect the OG posters of this board even if they're wrong about this trade.

I realize that he knows his stuff. However, in this instance he has gone over the line with his negativity. Obviously no-one knows exactly how this will turn out in the end and a little humility/perspective will go a long way. When you make those comments you should expect a little payback.

Also, the team that gets the best player usually wins the deal. The Knicks got the best player in the deal.

I just hope that the few guys who have practically reveled in our bad game will layoff the over the top attacks and allow this thing to play out. Having STAT, Melo and Billups is a definite plus. The more they play together and gain chemistry and confidence the better. ALL NY Knicks fans should be happy about this new team. How many years have we wanted to be a team with Stars all NBA fans respected and now we've got that kind of team.

A win, baby! Glad I wasn't around to see that Cavs game the other night. Billups was great, especially with some of those circus shots. I couldn't believe we were getting stops in end of the 2nd and 4th. Bill Walker is a +22 on the box score!

I was talking about how Fields doesn't force shots and then he goes and starts forcing shots. I like that move he does to the rim but he needs more upper body strength to be able to make that turn and finish the shot. I agree about the three, he doesn't get any elevation on his jumper, it looked like he did in the last game but maybe it was a fluke.

I think it's a confidence issue, he is still a rookie. He will get better.

Its hard to remember sometimes that he is only a rook. At times this season he's looked like the most mature player on the floor.

When people are hyping him up to be the next Havlicek I kinda lose sight of this fact as well....

We lost our main spot up three point shooters and it seems that some of that responsibility has fallen onto his shoulders and that is not his game. Its up to the coaches to not put him in that position and let him do what he was doing before the trade went down.

I hope I didn't sound like I was reveling in the bad game. However, I did go to the game in Cleveland and I was really upset about the team, the outcome and even some of the NY fans behavior that showed up. That was a bad game and if you care about this team sometimes it is hard not to react. A lot of guys that fans have followed and rooted for were just moved to bring in a big name. I like Melo a lot and wanted him here but I am still reeling from the cost. I don't get to go to many games anymore. I live in upstate NY now and make a game about once a year. So when I went and saw that type of performance against the Cavs it tore me up.

Because he's been hating hard after what should be the happiest week in knick history. You guys can hate on the trade but some of the extreme posts were getting out of and.

Now the thing to do is qualify every statementwith "when we get a big an"

There was a nuggets game thread? A "I hate melo" thread. Come on knick fans. Root or go to ultimateknickhaters.com.

I come hear to drown myself in "pure knick love" not pure knick skepticism and doubt.

I can get that from the post. :-)

I agree, he needs to develop more of a mid range game if he wants to take his game to the next level.

If someone told me that Anthony Carter would be an integral part to a win against the Miami Heat, I would've threw water in their face for such stupidity.

That was some GREAT defense on Wade, the only player on Miami who's killed us in the past 3 games. I actually prefer to face Miami in the 1st rd in the playoffs, cause unlike the Bulls, Magic, or Celtics, Miami don't have size either. We now matchup very well with them w/ Billups/Melo/Amar'e, and our Wade-stopper Anthony Carter.

What a great game! Certainly not the shootout people were expecting. I think it was Mike Wilbon who predicted the winning team would need at least 126 points tonight (not sure I can fault that prediction either).

Carmelo took his talents to South Beach! Melo vs. LeBron was a great matchup. I look forward to seeing more of it in the postseason.

Our stars stepped up tonight. Both Melo and STAT playing strong defense at the end of the game (and of course Chauncey, too). How about Mr. Big Shot? Completely gave this team the momentum we needed to close out this game. We've watched this team find ways to blow leads for years to these kind of closers. We now have not one, not two, but three guys we can trust with the ball in the final seconds!

I was proud of this team, even if we would have come away with a loss. Only the 3rd game together, as much as I hoped for and cheered for a win, I would not have been surprised to see this wind up a blowout. I joked on Friday after that loss to the Cavs about how the Knick thing to do would be to lay an egg vs. Cleveland and steal one from Miami. Jokes on me. We did.

What I'm most proud of from tonight is the toughness this team showed. The first half of the season, we had a tendency to lag around after a play complaining about a noncall. Tonight, we watched our guys get hacked (enough that even the ESPN announcers admitted to it) and there was no yelling - they just stayed with the play and finished. Amar'e goes up strong, grabbed by Wade, hit by LeBron, finishes and goes back on defense. Chauncey drives, gets a clear hack that throws him off balance, recovers, and goes in for the layup.

I'm proud to watch these guys and see New York on their chest.

And that's why the State of the Knicks is strong!

I will correct that, "there will be some losses" and people are entitled to their opinions as much as anyone else.
