In a weird way thinking of our best path - I would have preferred Tatum being fully healthy as the Knicks are prepared for how the Celts play around him...now it's going to look different and they will probably play faster, move the ball better and that will make it tougher for us to guard. I do get Tatum's amazing shot making ability and they can fall back on him when the game needs iso... but Pritchard's pace and deep shooting concerns me. KP due to have a better game at some point. There will be a significant adjustment by Mazzulla and we need Thibs to be ready to adjust again.

We have tendency to bounce back and then come out flat after a much needed win. Really hope we can take it to them on Wednesday from the get go and not be overconfident.

Im just so impressed with every aspect of this squad. The way they responded in the Det series. Owning cruchtime to go up 2-0 in Boston is just wild. 3-1 lead and Boston losses their best player. That being said they are not done and would not be shocked to see them shoot their way to extending the series. Maybe White will go 8-8 from downtown in the first qtr

Its just wild that after being cheated by the injury bug vs. the Pacers last year we are heading for a Knicks/Pacers conference final. Just wow.

The explanation was his feet were too wide apart. Might be the rule but it was bogus because guy spun off him. Should have resulted in a no call rather than charge IMO

Who will play PF for celts?

We should crush them on boards as our strategy

We are 5-0 on the road so far in the playoffs and have seem more locked in for road games. Closing them out tomorrow has to be the goal...get out of this series, get some rest.

Porzingis doesn't seem to be in the shape to start. They need replace Tatum's scoring so I feel like Pritchard starting makes sense, but then they are really undersized. Would they go 2 bigs with Kornet? Do they dust off Torrey Craig?

EXACTLY

Hard to prepare for the UNKNOWN. I’m sure the hack a Mitch will be back. Who starts in Tatums absence? We get to see how deep their bench really is.

They have real problems. Even if Pritchard played well. They’re tiny

Whatever is ailing KP is making him a shell of what he could be. He feeds off the i attention he gets w everyone hypnotized by Tatum and brown. If KP becomes a focus for them, then yay for us

I am assuming they go small and start Pritchard.

Boston started double bigs against us earlier in the year when Brown was out. I think that was the last time we played them. Their best depth is at PF/C and I think they probably go double big.

I think Kat got 10 of his 11 field goals at/around the basket and he got 1 got darn free throw. Also called for multiple offensive fouls.

Derrick White standing at 3 point line chucking 11 3 pointers and he went to line 7 times.

Officiating so sketch.

The reason this is so egregious is the Celtics shot 48 3's and the Knicks dominated points in the paint. Fouls happen when the offensive is aggressive. Absolutely absurd officiating for most of the night.

Beyond that - I don't know what's in the act of shooting vs. what is not anymore. Celtics were going to line for things that were absolutely not in the act.

I never liked the BS continuation calls, so when KAT didn't get it on the made 3 pt shot I was fine with it.

But then KP got fouled going for a rebound and it was called in the act.

and then OG got a steal and Brown grabbed him to stop him from getting an easy dunk and it was called a common foul.

The rules definitely need some refining.

How about the blanking Pritchard continuation under the hoop where there is almost a second pause after contact and he's behind the backboard - tosses it up at back of board. Two shots.

Thibs adjusting -- I'm going to feint.

I give Thibs credit for rolling with this lineup all the way but it started because KAT and Josh both had 5 fouls I believe. And then they went on an 18-10 run and Thibs rightfully rode them through the end of the 4th.

I think the hardest thing in the world for Thibs to do is -- not to insert Josh Hart. He just can't help himself.

DLeethal wrote:Also how damn reliable has OG become on hitting big 3s? Had some huge ones tonight. And dude is cool as a cucumber as he drills them in pressure moments.

Didn’t think he had it in him after the hammy thing but he looked spry

OG had scored a combined 7 points in games 2 & 3 so while I still don't call him reliable (as a scorer) he was BIG TIME last night.

Still scares me going to hoop - again last night completely botched 2 wide open finishes and had 2 other layups awkwardly clank and fall in the basket. His coordination for an elite NBA wing is very odd.

I'm talking purely about hitting an open shot that comes his way in a tight moment. Not necessarily talking about his creation or finishing ability. Also one of his botched layups was when he pulled his hammy.

That's fine I was just poking fun at the adventure OG is when driving -- hammy included. He just runs into trouble guarded or unguarded

Give Thibs some credit here as we are starting to see a pattern (a change) where Thibs rests Jalen to start the 4th and has started initiating offense thru Mikal off high screen.

It took some time to bake this in but it's happening and Mikal is making it work --- he's been SO CLUTCH.

I would like us to do this to start second quarters as well and just end the Cam Payne experiment.

Knicks need to use the end of quarters to do layup lines lol every quarter!

Seriously - who knew warmup drill as old as Dr. Naismith would be key to Knick revival.
