Donovan Mitchell was a historically great playoff performer and his last 11 games were akin to Randle's playoff career. If you just looked at those 11 games then Donovan Mitchell would be a playoff no-show. You can't derive anything from a handful of playoff games.

And he wasn't good the first few games against CLE before he got hurt either.

I think it helps that Brunson can take some pressure off him but Randle has come up small just about any time the lights get really bright.

This is inventing a blindfold moment to meet your argument. Or did you conveniently forget that Randle missed the last 2 weeks of the season and no one knew if he was even able to play until hour before Game 1?

At this point you are kinda shooting yourself in the foot unnecessarily. And kinda embarrassingly too.

Randle is already not a good pressure situation player to begin with and doesn't really need anyone's help but to go above and beyond like you have is kinda telling.

not that serious, I got the games mixed up but was referring to game 5 against CLE when Randle reaggravated the ankle.

That's besides the point though, the point is you can probably take a 6-8 game playoff sample from any established player and make them look really bad. Not enough body of work from Randle to label him anything in terms of playoffs. Plenty of reasons to be skeptical, but RJ was terrible in the playoffs until he all of a sudden wasn't anymore. Randle most likely puts together some performances to get the playoff monkey off his back too. He just really didn't get a shot to do that this year as he was injured before and throughout.

actually agree, good points and I hope and actually feel Randle will have a good playoff. I'm not sure what the team will look like after Feb but I don't see a major shakeup and I think having a full season with Jalen, DD joining, Grimes and IQ if here should play better after their first appearance. Actually just had this conversation, I had reservations about Randle and playoff Randle, but I think he'll be fine this year.

I think first playoff Atlanta did a great job in game planning. This roster won't allow that, Jalen alone interrupts that big time.

We talking 15 career playoff games
His ankle was never right vs cavs and certainly after he hurt it again.
Yet he toughed it out.
The ATL series we really indicted him as fans.

Yup, it’s the same pretty darn talented Hawks team that made EC Finals, beating a very solid 76ers team along the way.

Knicks were starting 35yo Taj and had relegated their regular season starting PG Payton to - oh that’s right - the bench where he barely played.

Knicks spent their entire mojo in the regular season, and I don’t think anyone would argue against it being a little bit of a miracle that it held up for the full duration

Yes - noticed that last 2 playoffs in 11 combined games with Utah/Cleveland Donovan shot 21% and 29% from 3 on high volume….with pretty high TO #s as well though assists were high this playoff. Add in some blah D and does throw a bit of shade on Mitchell

Fans indictment include forgetting it was Thibs first year (COY), Randle had never been an allstar, let alone All NBA. Short season, knicks suprise all and land 4th seed.
As if non of that mattered because “Playoffs are all that matter”. IN part yes, but if you don’t make the playoffs its all good then?

Randle kills it, then goes down in flames and thats what many remember and label him as?
Not like Randle is paid like a max player. Not even close. He exceeds that one value metric by far.

Lets not forget while Knicks landed in 4th that year, ATL and Miami were surging behind us also. Expectations got inflated and Randle told us to be quiet.
Be ate crow, came back the next year and made allstar team and lead the team to a solid 47 win year beating most pundits expecations.
But he got hurt, and did not recover fully leading to another less than best of career play post season.

And the Labels by the haters are indicting again. Miserable sods.

Is it possible? Sure. He has every cutting edge advantage available including some intense supplements too. We love to cut down the famous when they fall.
Unless this kid is punished by the school or NCAA for some doping infraction rule are we truly entitled to know all that is going on in this kids body and if not, speculate? Sad when this happens.
At some point if there was a mistake, or an physical anomaly its up to him to decide if he wants to share it.
Until then lets just assume this is an 18 year old chasing a life long dream and hopefully not crushed by being Lebrons son. Im sure he is not a perfect dad but he seems to be involved and has stayed married keeping his family intact. Public personas can be manufactured. Jordans was well protected and Kobe after his mistakes needed time to mend his family and his image.

There was steroid speculation before the heart attack for the record. I would guess because he is the son of LeBron James, who has long been implied to be the beneficiary of them. I have no idea. And of course regardless unproven allegations in the wake are just pathetic. There could be a number of cofactors, including energy drinks and congenital defects. That is for him and his support to look at i suppose. Tough thing for a young man but seems he is okay and his life is all ahead of him.

Yeah. I'm not speculating about the vaccine, but the actual infection. I remember there were heart concerns with D1 athletes a few years back after they got infected.
