Not worth it. I know more about the ugly side of the Democratic party than most. The real stuff. Even I have to acknowledge there is something worse out there. Anyone who still cant see that, after all the evidence. Shows why "it CAN happen here".

Hillary Clinton abd Joe Biden are fakes. They are dishonest they are racists they do everything you said trump does. Again I don’t think it’s much of an upgrade. But I’m not a participant this time around and I really don’t care who wins—

wow I guess I didn't expect this level of dumb****ery from you. You keep exposing yourself man and it's sad. Petulant child who can't get what he wants level of denying and projecting. I'm astounded.

Anyway, that's enough from you, it's definitely not worth it.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/oct/26/republican-party-autocratic-hungary-turkey-study-trump

The Republican party has become dramatically more illiberal in the past two decades and now more closely resembles ruling parties in autocratic societies than its former centre-right equivalents in Europe, according to a new international study.

In a significant shift since 2000, the GOP has taken to demonising and encouraging violence against its opponents, adopting attitudes and tactics comparable to ruling nationalist parties in Hungary, India, Poland and Turkey.

The shift has both led to and been driven by the rise of Donald Trump.

By contrast the Democratic party has changed little in its attachment to democratic norms, and in that regard has remained similar to centre-right and centre-left parties in western Europe. Their principal difference is the approach to the economy.

The new study, the largest ever of its kind, was carried out by the V-Dem Institute at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, using newly developed methods to measure and quantify the health of the world’s democracies at a time when authoritarianism is on the rise.

Anna Lührmann, V-Dem’s deputy director, said the Republican transformation had been “certainly the most dramatic shift in an established democracy”.

By then they cold invoke article 25 or outright impeachment. If Trump loses with non partisan fever he’ll burn the house down and leave it smoldering. His minions are already moving away from him for weeks now. Moscow Mitch:

The bruising on his hands and face could be a lot of things. Vascular issues from Covid is one of them.
He might be rotting from the inside out. Sometimes you just have to know when to fold up the tent and go home.

There won't be a civil war after the election — just think about the mechanics of it

As a professor of political science, I’ve been getting a great many questions lately, from smart informed folks (like the readers of this newspaper). It’s definitely not a question I ever thought would become routine: “Are we going to have a civil war over the election?”

The answer is: No! And at this point, that’s as good as it gets.

There are a couple of key reasons for this, which can be grouped under the general categories of the practical and the theoretical.

Beginning with the practical: The Constitution is a marvelous thing. It even schedules when the president takes the oath of office: Jan. 20, dead of winter. That means, quite simply, it’s cold, very, very cold. Everyone just wants to stay home next to a roaring fire and quaff gallons of brandy all day — hardly an ideal fighting force of any sort.

The reader may think, “yeah, but we have heaters now.” Sure, and that’s the first thing that will go if a civil war materialized. All utilities gone; just ask the good people that went through the derecho how fun that was. Next (and I’m taking this pattern from real-life experience seeing exactly how a modern civil war takes place — Iraq), other “soft targets” will be eliminated. Armed militias need not, and do not, initially go after “hard targets,” like the military or police. No, they go after teachers. Teachers, shot by the thousands in Iraq. Then the bakers. Then the sanitation workers. It doesn’t take long to absolutely ruin a city: no schools, no bread, and disgusting garbage everywhere, which then leads to uncontrollable outbreaks of deadly diseases like cholera.

Forget about hospitals, and doctors — the former have been blown up, and the latter have gone to Canada. Here, the reader may think, “OK, everyone knows that civil war is terrible, but what if the radicals on whatever side just go ahead anyway and —” Wait right there. What radicals? Have you seen some of these militia types? They have much greater need for cardio than for the tactical weapons they hold dear. Two nights in a cold tent, without the internet, without pizza, without prescriptions, and they are done.

So much for the practical outlook for civil war in this country. The theoretical dimension is just as damning.

What we know from the modern history of civil war is that the leader of the country (whether legitimate or not) must have two things going for him (and, yes, it’s always a “him” when it comes to chaos and widespread violence) in order to survive a civil war. One, the full backing of the country’s military apparatus, and two, the full backing of the country’s secret police and intelligence apparatuses (for example, the FBI and the CIA). In this country, the president lacks, utterly, either of those two fundamental requirements. It will, someday, be seen as fortunate that the current president’s administration has been most aptly described as “malevolence tempered by incompetence.” We’ll be OK; this time.

I tell my friends that there are not issues worth dying over.
You have a few nut jobs out there that have little to live for but the tough camo guys with guns are just exercising their self expression and living up to the pickup truck commercials that advertise “A truck that works as hard as you do”.
Is trump worth dying over?

Heck no. He's probably one of the last people in world you'd want spearheading a plan to deal with the current pandemic. And that's leaving out all of the other major concerns I have.
https://www.factcheck.org/2020/02/pence-moved-slowly-in-combating-hiv-outbreak/

The outbreak of HIV was linked to extensive use by Scott County residents of a prescription opioid painkiller called Opana, which was taken off the market in 2017. Needle-sharing was common in the area, where many members of a family often live in the same house.

Experts say that in situations like the one in Scott County needle exchange programs are essential. But Pence, a social conservative, was very much opposed to them, seeing them as contributing to drug abuse. (According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, however, syringe services programs “do not cause or increase illegal drug use.”) It took much lobbying by other officials to get Pence to give the program — which was illegal in Indiana — the green light.

On March 23, 2015, months after the outbreak began, Pence said he was going home to pray on the issue, according to the New York Times. Soon afterward he declared a public health emergency and approved the program. “It was disappointing that it took so much effort to bring the governor on board,” Ed Clere, a Republican state representative who championed the needle exchange, told the Times in 2016.

Pence hits me as the typical religious hypocrite. The one that eventually gets caught on video doing some crazy ****. He is worse than Trump. Pence goes around acting like the pope yet he sold his soul to work for the devil. At least Trump does not go around pretending he is not a scumbag.

I don’t see Biden as anything other than getting Trump gone. I was very concerned how he talked about North Korea. If we’re on Trump for dishonesty Biden was quite dishonest last night. I don’t understand what is message is. I give him credit for being much fiestier than I thought— but for all those who wanted Trump out—I really don’t see much of an upgrade here? And are we better with President Kamala Harris? I m not sure. I’d rather have mike pence as president

Sometimes you just have to stop the bleeding, and getting rid of this grade A moron is the first thing we have to do before we can start to make things better

Our leader!

Biden= 47 years of public service. Regardless of shortcomings, he was a guy that dedicated his life to trying to help people by serving in government.
Trump= 74 years of screwing people out of money. Making fake University's. Failed clothing lines. Third rate steak distributor. Declaring multiple bankruptcies thus leaving investors high and dry. Paying off porn stars. Living off his old man's tit. And using fraudulent loopholes to keep from paying taxes. Etc, etc. Hey at least he built a glorious wall. Brought back manufacturing to US. Revamped health care. And brought the country together as one. Hail to the chief.

"Listen," the owner mused, "I'm so worried about Biden's regulations, so I'm funding as much as I can privately and confidentially to get Trump reelected. I know he's crazy, and I hope Democrats take the House and the Senate, but then Trump can block stuff and protect us on the taxes and regulation."

The source who was present is involved in ownership groups across leagues, and that source relayed that moment in response to a question:

Are professional sports team owners making political donations privately, in ways that not only shield their identity but shield them from backlash from their own players, staffers and fans?

The answer was a resounding yes -- and it happens regularly.

"There's no question," the source said.

"The overwhelming majority of sports team owners are Republicans. And they are very concerned about taxes, obviously, and regulation for their businesses."

In a very blunt warning on CNN on Friday morning, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner served notice to Donald Trump that a jail cell awaits him if he keeps encouraging his rabid followers to interfere with voters on Election Day.

Speaking with host Alisyn Camerota, Krasner was asked about a tweet he directed at the president this past week and what message he was trying to send to Trump when he wrote, “I’ve got something for you.”

“That means I’ve got a jail cell and I’ve got criminal charges and you can stand in front of a Philadelphia jury, which, by the way, is a diverse jury, and you can explain why you thought it was okay to come to Philly and steal our votes. This is the birthplace of democracy and we are not doing this — wannabe fascists stay home,” Krasner explained.

I am not shocked and yet still flabbergasted that the judiciary is blatantly making it a priority to count less votes and shorten voting periods when state legislatures are implementing the opposite.

America badly needs fixing

What's even worse is that these people do this openly, like they have no sense of shame at all, and are surrounded by people who will happily collude with them. I don't get how people end up like that.

Amy Coney Barret, Justice Roberts, & Justice Kavanaugh were all lawyers who worked the Republican side of the Bush vs Gore recount scandal.

If election is close. They will look to steal the election like they did for Bush in 2000.

Kavanaugh has already been ruling towards voter suppression in Wisconsin.

Fascism, American style..

https://www.newsobserver.com/news/local/article246861942.html

Alamance County sheriff’s deputies and Graham police pepper-sprayed people — including a 5-year-old girl and other children — who were participating in the “I Am Change” march to the polls on Saturday afternoon.

A racially diverse group of about 200 people walked with a police escort from Wayman’s Chapel AME Church to Court Square, where they held a rally encouraging people to vote. The event was organized by Rev. Greg Drumwright, a Burlington native who leads the the Citadel Church in Greensboro, according to his website.

At least three politicians participated in some parts of the event: the current mayor of Burlington, Ian Baltutis; Democratic candidate for county commissioner Dreama Caldwell; and Democratic school board candidate Seneca Rodgers.

At one point, the marchers held a moment of silence in the street in honor of George Floyd, the Black man killed while in police custody in Minneapolis earlier this summer. After the moment of silence concluded, law enforcement told people to clear the road.

Then, deputies and police officers used pepper spray on the crowd and began arresting people. Several children in the crowd were affected by the pepper spray.

Melanie Mitchell said her 5-year-old and 11-year-old daughters were pepper-sprayed just after the moment of silence. She said Graham police approached the crowd assembled in the street and told them to move onto the sidewalk and soon began spraying pepper spray toward the ground. Mitchell’s 5-year-old took off running, she said. Both kids threw up.

“My 11-year-old was terrified,” Mitchell said. “She doesn’t want to come down to Graham anymore.”
