It sure hasn't been easy to be a Knicks fan, ever since the 90's it has been all downhill. It was tough losing all those years when we were "clearing cap space" and hiring a well liked Olympic team in Dantoni, that all the stars want to play for. Those losing years were tough, but you always had a little ray of sunshine because you knew it was all apart of a future "big three" plans that would rival the Heat. Guess what?? You are looking at that team right now. This is the dream team that we suffered all those years for, and waited ever so patiently for. This is your capped out, "star" filled team to dominate the East. The knowledge that this is the team we have been waiting for all these years, makes these losses WAY more painful than those cap clearing years. You can accept it when a team with little talent would lose. Remember how our scrappy little Knicks would fight and fight even though talent wise they were grossly overmatched?? You could at least respect the fact that they had pride and tried their best. They would compensate for their lack of talent with hustle, hard work, passion, and PRIDE !!! It absolutely sickens me to see this current Knicks team, with all this "talent," play basketball like they really couldn't give a ****. That is lack of pride right there !! I feel like deep down inside Melo and Stat are like "well, we lost another one, but oh well, I am filthy freaking rich so I think I will go buy another new yacht." No stinking pride and they are oozing with potential, but without pride and discipline (from nutless Dantoni to self-discipline from the players themselves) this is the pile of **** we are left with. Baron Davis?? He will get us a few extra wins, but not anything remotely close to a deep playoff run. Fire that worthless bum Dantoni?? It should have been done a long time ago I think. To fire him now, in this compressed season, would not give the new coach the time to instill his system and principals on this team. It would get us a few extra wins, based on the fact that any live body with common sense could do better than Dantoni, but nothing remotely close to the success us fans are looking for. Yeah, I admit it without hesitation, that I was in full support of the Amare signing and the Melo trade. Never supported the Dantoni hire though, we all know that in order for any Knicks team to succeed in NY, we need a hard nose, no BS, and defensively minded coach. In other words the opposite of Dantoni. While watching my "dream" Knicks play tonight, I got an empty feeling deep in my gut. It wasn't anger or sadness, but rather the realization that our "dream" team is fatally flawed and we are stuck with them. I have never felt this hopeless, thanks for listening.
