As Charles Barkley said..."You don't win with X's and O's...you win with Jim's and Joe's". D'Antoni is not the problem. He doesnt shoot the ball and turn the ball over.

Lin with the nice cross over and penetration. Too bad he missed the layup.

how does mike d'antoni still have a job.

Things may change now that Walsh is gone. Grunwald has a lot to do with this roster and I am sure he wants them to be successful. He didn't hire D'Antoni so he doesn't have to keep trying to justify the move like Walsh did.

Walsh is the master. Walsh doesn't have to justify anything. He kept Mike around to give him a good team. If Mike sucked this year he would have fired him no questions asked.

Walsh made one mistake hiring D'antoni and he kept trying to make things work. D'Antoni never should have been hired. Every flaw that was brought up about him Phoenix has been much more pronounced in NY. I like Walsh but he wasn't perfect. He protected D'Antoni and without that protection I don't see D'Antoni lasting the year.

D'Antoni coached poor rosters for two years and made the playoffs with his first good one. how exactly did he "protect" anyone? Because he showed confidence in his coach that he could win with better talent? Any coach would appreciate a boss like that. Sure, D'Antoni sucks and it was Walsh's mistake by hiring him but not firing him until now is not his fault. He wanted to give him a chance. he gave him a chance. D'Antoni would not have lasted past this year.

is it D'Antoni's fault that they break plays 90% of the time?

Funny thing is that I still think that TD can be very productive off the bench

The team looks as undisciplined as ever on both ends of the floor. I agree he isn't the sole culprit but he does carry a lot of blame.

have you seen him? he takes off his shirt in practice all the time. he's definitely in shape. i think that extra 20lbs of muscle he put on might be slowing him down A LOT. that and the back might still be bugging him. the added muscle was to compensate for the back. he strengthened his core, but he may have weighed himself down too much.

The one good thing about the past terrible years of Knicks basketball is that I no longer take losses hard. I pretty much expect losses and am pleasntly surprised when we win.

His effective off the bench can be reproduced by a D League player. Usually your First or 2nd Guard off bench is a energizer or defensive stud..or great offensive player who plays no defense..Toney D isn't any of this. I would rather upgrade him by next season. He was outplayed by Steve Blake today and Ish Smith last night. There must be better out there.

Being ripped doesn't equal being in shape. His basketball feel is way off. He'll get better.
