That's probable. KD is one of the players I dislike most in the league but I'd be intrigued if the deal was only for KAT. The cap flexibility alone after 2027 without KAT is worth it alone.

Guy seems to work harder than anybody and is a soft spoken all time great.

I get he didn’t choose Knicks a few years ago but not butt hurt by that personally.

I kind of like that he occasionally goes back at stupid people on line as well - doesn’t bother me a bit.

He’d probably be best player to ever suit up for Knicks even at 37 in Nov — he’s 6 months younger than Steph.

I can almost guarantee the offer (or potential offer again this summer is) OG and Mitch to Phoenix, with a 3rd player going from the Knicks to a 3rd team to make the money work. It’s a very clean trade. Knicks only need to include a minimum contract, although I fear it would be Deuce to a 3rd team to bring back a pick for the suns. OG, Mitch, the Washington pick, and a pick from a 3rd team for Phoenix. Maybe they can do better, but it depends on what they are trying to accomplish I guess. As for the Knicks, no other combo of players makes sense. Bridges doesn’t make enough money like OG, and it’s not going to be both OG and bridges for KD. Hart isn’t getting moved, he’s best friends with Brunson and at his contract holds little value outside of the Knicks situation. I doubt KAT gets moved either. Just feels too lateral at this point. Even OG, Mitch and Deuce for KD is a gamble because they would still need to fill out the bench under the second apron. Huge gamble.

trading two defensive demons for another "star" is not the route I'd take.

Scoring wasn't our issue and unless that "star" is a two way player you are now just compounding the defensive issue 10x over.

I think you can justify moving KAT because maybe you don't feel you can win with him anchoring the middle, maybe you want teams to stop hunting him in the playoffs. But to keep him, AND trade your two best defenders? can't see us that making us better no matter who that 3rd star is.

that being said, Obi makes $15m right now and Grimes will be making $20m+ so its one of those things where you cant keep everyone, especially in today's NBA.

You look back and we simply were almost TOO good at developing players.

Fair enough, it seems in this CBA a key talent of an organization is going to be developing cheap labor on repeat to serve as role players. If they aren't used as trade bait, our young guys are gonna be critical moving forward. Especially if we see another 2 for 1 trade take place.
