Nobody said he was dealt an easy hand.

The thing is he has not made it easier for players. He is not calling screens to free players.

Are you serious bro??..Novak is on lockdown period..He doest know how to get free..Can't blame that on the coach..Its why every other team cut him in the NBA..This is the playoffs..No gimmes

Trade them all! Maybe we can get back Timofey

It is not just Melo but it falls on him. He has to get the others in rhythm early. It is hard but that is what he needs to do. Nobody cares about the obstacles it is all about how he performs to help a team win. unfortunately, he played horrible and was just trying too hard. The pressure is building and he knows it but he must deliver or he will never change his perception.

Though this was as stacked of a deck as one could have - I sadly agree

they iso ****s going to get tired real fast and woodson will get booed to alaska..so dress warm

The team was -25 with Melo on the floor and +8 with him off the floor. I'm pretty sure we could have afforded to rest him! Those 5 minutes he was on the bench were the only 5 min of the game that were fun.

Its obvious he is being told to shoot. We can't expect him to go 100% from the field. Woodson is relying only on guys who can create their own offense - JR and Melo.

Agreed Holfresh. I mean i blame our team more because they put themselves in this situation. They let many easy games get away that cost them a higher seed

Everybody blamed MDA when they were losing and Dolan gutted the whole roster.
If D'Antoni didn't resign the threads here would be debating who the Rockets pick in the lottery with the Knicks pick and was the McGrady trade the worst ever.

It's not fair to Woody but dude may get swept 3 STRAIGHT PLAYOFFS IN A ROW as a head coach!!!

What the hell is not fair? Freaking get your team to play better. This was the least imaginative offense I have ever seen through the first 3 games. Abysmal ball movement....did absolutely nothing to combat the Heat swarming and approached it the same way in all 3 games. There is nothing about fairness here- you have to be competitive. In a lot of ways he lost his team too. The Knicks haven't really had any confidence since game 1. Its a bad coaching job, period. Bad execution and bad play from the players too...but we didn't do anything to combat the Heat's strengths and that is on the guys making the game plan.

Like I said before this team didnt show up for games agianst easy teams which made us have to face the toughest team in the first round. If these guys just played hard agianst those team we would probably be in the second round this year

the difference is he lost at an incredible rate again this year with this team. Woodson has won a lot of games and prior to facing the Heat with a depleted roster his record was stellar.

We will never know if things would have come together under MDA. They were obviously broken. But he could have gotten us the 8th seed and Chicago. Then again nobody knew Rose would go down.

I am surprised the Knicks didn't try to get the 8th seed to avoid Miami - they are defending ECF Champs.

MDA didn't lose last year!!! The team was doing well before the trade and the trade deadline drama that clearly effected our players. Since we added Melo this team has not been able to really win. That winning record after the coaching change was a mix of the usual boost a coach gets from a team after a coaching change and Woody getting lucky that Melo was on FIRE to end the season. I give him some credit for the team winning but my contention remains that if Melo was playing like he did after MDA resigned all year this team would be in much better shape this post season. Melo won that fight but lost the war.

This is 100 percent true - he aint Ray Allen

Maybe we can get him for cheap now.

He still could have done better with a penetrating PG (or Lebron)

This is some BS. They never ran screens for Novak. They have plays to get Novak open and they haven't used them.

Knicks had lost 6 straight when he resigned. I don't think there is much doubt that the Knicks would not have made the playoffs if he stayed. The Knicks lost to the freakin Heat. There is no way the Knicks go 17-7 to beat out Milwaukee if D'Anto stayed in my opinion.

Yeah, I have never understood why they wanted Miami first but this ass kicking better teach them to be careful what they wish for. It's been totally embarrassing to be a Knick fan through this - but I still love this team (at least the uniform and it's history).

talking about the trade dram? So sad!! How about the drama of playing Miami losing all your players and having the worst back court in the history of the playoffs?

BS excuse! The knicks sucked for 30 games before the trade

It goes both ways. Woodson should have ran plays for him but Novak is not Ray Allen. We can't even give him the ball if he is not wide open if we don't want a potential turnover.
