I still don't get why he won't run plays for Novak. All you need is for someone to give him the ball and set a screen and it's automatic. Too much reliance on Melo means our other offensive weapons become impotent.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Why put Novak out there for so long if you're only going to get him 2 shots? Run a damn play for the man!

Atlanta announcers intolerable. "Aw, Knicks fans heading for the exits." "So sad."

I thought tomorrow vs. Cleveland would be a trap game. I'm feeling better about it now. Hopefully we take out our frustration on the Cavs.

Give ATL credit for not giving Novak a look..No one left him open..

The Hawks, an up and down team but playoff opponent we should be thinking about bringing down, dominated us. It was nice to see us hang in there, but we never had the defensive intensity we had in previous games to help us. We allowed 100pts, which for us should simply be unacceptable.

Dominated...please that is silly.

Dominated in the sens that these were two playoff teams battling and while we put our fight, we trailed for most of the game and whenever we looked to make our run, they simply kept us away. Not dominance in terms of score and control, but simply in the sense that we tried but the Hawks never lost grab of the game.

Really, this game is done. Im not too worries about this as I am about a second let down against the Cavs. If we can win tomorrow, I'll be ok.

Tonight was a bad match up for the second unit and they just could not hide Novak. Also, Smith was letting Green go off coming off the screen. Alot of other things too.

Sidenote: Teague is an interesting pg. He still needs alot of work but he does some nice things. I ams still not sure though if he is a quality starting pg but he is on the right track. good for him.

Novak was open a few times no one looked for him. Go back and watch older games and see how JJ sets screens for Novak. That is all he needs.

I think our effort was there. Our short bench and some Hawks stepping up hurt. There was one particular sequence where we played great D but gave up some rebound stand out. Another was a 5pt swing play on AA vineyard BD turnover also stands out. Chandler was off, but gave it his all. Melo and Shump were great tonight. Sometimes the chips just don't fall your way.

Joe Johnson said it after the game..They are streaky and we didn't leave their three point shooters open..

I would ave liked to have seen Novak in sooner over Baron and run PnRs with him and Shump/Melo. Novak might not have gotten any more looks but he would have created some huge lanes of the screen for Shump and Melo.

Atlanta did a good job of sticking to him, however I didn't see very many plays run to free him up. 2 shots in 20 minutes. At that point he becomes too much of a liability on the other end.

True...But ATL hit all the shots they needed to hit down the stretch..We missed Lin tonight..Our two guard not being able to knock down the open three is the difference this season...Fields is afraid to take that shot now...If we have a guard who can knocks down the open three this is a different team..

Fields was playing SF. We should have Melo - Novak on the floor at the same time to get better spacing. 3 pt shooting doesn't have to come from a guard. Baron Davis never sets up the offense he either dumps it to Melo or chucks up a brick. Must say he has been a big let down.

Part of the reason I'm so damn excited to see Shump knocking it down over the past few games. This game doesn't bug me too much...Atlanta is a good team and we were on the road with 60% of our starting lineup. Just bounce back tomorrow night and all is forgiven.

Knicks need to stop pulling their groins and focus on winning some games down the stretch here.

The Toronto/Milwaukee/Magic games were good indicators that show that the Knicks struggle against the more athletic teams and can dominate the less athletic ones. ATL has alot of long and quick guys (same w/ Mil & Toronto) and we saw that the Magic are full of stiffs (other than DW and maybe Earl Clark). Wasn't surprised by this loss and I'm worried about Kyrie tomorrow. Shump should be on him all game long.
