at the end of the day:
two stars and no depth = no stars, plenty of depth

a championship team needs stars AND depth and the chances of denver acquiring stars is FAR lesser than us acquiring role players.

Exactly.

2nd quarter really killed us, plus rose got that lucky 3 at the buzzer. Shump played under control.
So can't hang your head on this loss.

i was happy with melo teh first half he was finding guys and then all of a sudden he is throwing up bad shots which led the bulls to grab a big lead. If he would just play team ball the whole way pg or not we would still win more games

I hope the Denver fans appreciate what a great young player they have in Gallo.

The Clippers are going to kill them. The Nuggets play well but they don't have a go to guy.

they have depth somethign we dont have. Sometimes you dont need three stars you just need a good collections of good players like philly

Good players don't win championships....good players with a few stars do. Philly is playing over their heads.

Seeing what is happening now do you still make the melo trade or just wait for FA

wait so he can go to the Nets?
You pull the trigger.

I agree. I hope this is a sign that the team is coming together and not just fired up for a big game. They certainly looked to be playing like a team on both ends of the floor.

revisionist history. our bench svcked balls in the second quarter (3 combined points). Melo game back in and continued their sloppiness by turning the ball over and giving chicago easy transition buckets, pushing the lead to 10+.

in the third quarter Melo and Amare did their thing. Amare hit the bench, our defense got better, and we did Melo ball possession and possession, with Melo willing the Knicks back into the game. it was a 2 point game at the start of the fourth iirc.

Amare + bench unit start fourth. bulls extend to 5. melo comes back in. back and forth between melo and amare, with Melo taking most of the shots and getting blocked the shyt out of towards the end.

first game this year that Im glad i stayed up for. Great game and the team played really well.....outside of td. Chicago are just better than us right now but we played with heart heartland stuck in there even when Rose was going crazy. Really proud of the team tonight. We really need a point guard. If we had a starting pg, shump would come off the bench and td could play stand-in-the-corner. No more boneheaded attempted passes and the bench, along with the return of Woody would be nice productive.

Really glad i stayed up watch this. Shows we have something to hope for still. Special mention to Amare. Monstrous game.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?

It didn't even seem like MDA was interested in Deron. I don't understand why you for some reason think that that one trade was going to move mountains for us. Dolan decided he wanted to sell tickets, and to be a championship contender. When we signed Amar'e we got one piece. Trading for Melo was the second piece. Trading for a legit center, the 3rd piece. Now we need a point guard and depth.

They became rattled and reverted back to bad habits. Mda to his credit called a timeout and tried to settle it.

69 from the big 3, 27 from the starting backcourt. 6 bench points, SIX.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Look man its hard to get a lot of good depth when the big three are making that much money. Now if melo and amare want to restructure their contracts to allow more cap space that is really good for us but i dont see that happening. Getting a good pg is also tough for the mid-level.

That's 2 games where the team looked like they're supposed to look. There was good team play. The mistakes and wasted possessions killed us, but to come down to the wire with the Bulls isn't a bad game. Think about it. Our starting backcourt is a rookie Combo guard and a SG that is really a SF. It would be great to have them coming off the bench, but we don't have that kind of depth yet. Gotta see if they can play the same way tomorrow and the day after that.
