CC's in late season form... just located a nasty 96 mph fastball on the low outside corner for a called strike on Mayberry in the 8th inning w/2 men on base & stuck him out w/a nasty slider down & in to get out of the jam... ends the inning w/a Joba-esque fist pump.

time for the ghosts to make their presence felt... bottom of the 8th & 9th to score 2 runs... let's GO YANKS!

good job by Veras in the 9th... walked a batter but got 2 tough hitters to strike out in Utley & Rollins.

It's too bad they couldn't have scored more runs for CC today. He didn't have his best stuff but he battled great and kept the team in the game.

tough loss after a nice comeback in the 9th... CC pitched well & the kids came through again, but can't tempt fate so many times with a big missed opportunity in the 10th
