GK, plenty of comeback wins like this have happened on the way to the Yankees' many title runs, that doesn't make any win more valued than the other... a win is a win, bottomline... a fan can't pick & choose the manner in which their team wins & say one is more worthy than another... i realize your concern over the lack of hitting at times but the Phillies' pitchers were lights out for much of this game & last night... Brett Myers' curve ball was breaking off the table & his location was on point... ur overanalyzing this instead of enjoying a great comeback win this team you love just gave you against 1 of the best teams in the NL & defending World champs... they also just took a series against the 1st place team in the AL East just a few days ago & broke off 9 straight before last night's game... they're on a serious roll right now & playing great baseball, even the bullpen has been doing its job where they were blowing games wide open earlier in the season... as soon as Wang gets worked back into the rotation & Jorge & Bruney come back this team is gonna be poised for a serious run this year... trust me, i share your frustration over how the Red Sox have owned us of late, but for the time being i can't see how u can be dissatisfied w/the way this team's been winning ballgames.

the way they've been coming back in games this year is definitely encouraging... i was frustrated at our young guys earlier in the season while watching the Red Sox youngsters coming through for them but our kids have really played a huge role in just about every win during this recent winning streak... it's great that these kids are getting a run now & gaining confidence in their abilities... once our vets get back suddenly our bench is starting to look damn good, where there were some concerns over our depth earlier in the year.

Well you also called him a tool but he stuck with NY longer than you did. Wouldn't that make you a bigger tool? I'm not trying to be a dick. If you didn't mock another NY fan's "fanhood," I wouldn't care that you left the NY Knicks once things went bad.

please guys. this is the only yankees talk forum i know of. can we stop with the name calling and stick to talking about the bombers.

nady, damon, and matsui are all FAs after this year I believe. i would also imagine DJ is going to move to corner outfield at some point down the line (where else could he go, 1b is obviously not an option with tex and cano's playing great 2b). what are the options on the FA market? i hope austin jackson's the truth, and melky and gardner are both guys i want on the team (not sure about them every day though). is there a big bat on the market after this year?

Big, the big free agent names this offseason in the corner OF spots will include Manny, Matt Holliday, Jason Bay, Vlad Guerrero & possibly Jermaine Dye, Magglio Ordonez & Carl Crawford if their teams refuse their options... my guess is Damon will be brought back, he's hitting too well & too valuable in this lineup to let him walk but Jason Bay is an intriguing option, i've always thought he'd be a nice fit on this ballclub (no way Carl Crawford will be allowed to walk by TB)... i think Jeter is still good at SS for another year or 2 at least, it's not yet time to move him to the OF, & i think Austin Jackson will get a look out there as well at some point next season... i don't see the Yanks going after Holliday at the trade deadline right now... things can obviously change if a major injury occurs but i think they have enough depth out there now w/Melky emerging & Gardner as a very nice reserve defensive OF on the bench.

gardner gambled and missed out. but 2 runs in nothing. jeter is the yankee shortstop for 2-3 more years and will retire.

With those good younger outfield options, the Yankees should not fall into the trap of overpaying an aging player with a career year this late in his career. 3 year deal should be the absolute max for Damon. There's too many other good options to start paying Damon a lot of money while he's approaching 40. This would be Jorge Posada Take 2.

Bruney in pain but to keep pitching. Not good. We gotta proceed on the assumption that we cannot depend on him in the playoffs. That means get another reliever because I'd rather see Phil Coke as the 7th inning than the setup man in the playoffs.

i would should re-sign Damon to be the fulltime DH & sign Jason Bay to be the fulltime LFer while keeping CF semi-open for Austin Jackson to come in next year, meaning start Melky in CF w/Gardner on the bench & Swisher in RF... u can always move Melky over to RF if Swisher struggles next season & try Jax in CF.

i'd also look into signing another righty setup man because Bruney's health is so much of an issue & i dunno if that's ever gonna change... i'd seriously pursue Rafael Soriano of ATL, he's been completely lights out for them this year & he's also had success in the AL while he was in SEA, so we know he's not just an NL success story... he's still in his prime at 29 & if he'd agree to set up for Mo he's a perfect option for us... i know we have Melancon waiting in the wings but bullpen depth is never a bad thing... Betances won't be ready for another year or 2 at the very least.

some great baseball being played so far in this series... Phillies are a great team that executes on both sides of the field... great relay to get Damon at the plate & great block of the plate by Ruiz... this is the type of baseball u love to watch.

i'm guessing he's gonna sign another contract when this one expires after next year & that'll be it... he should reach the 3000 hit mark sometime in 2011 at this rate, but to me he seems like a guy who will wanna keep playing cuz he loves the game so much... i can see him moving to LF in 2012 or so for a few years... i think he'll retire in about 6-7 years.

broken bat HR by Teix... 3-2 Phils in the 7th... CC & Hamels are pitching well (1 mistake pitch by both has cost them)... looks like this could be another dramatic ending.
