This is how I measure deuce success. Not by how many jumpers he make. I’ve watched him play games and his team wins, in college and gleague.

Thibs leaves a lot to be desired in a coach. It boggles my mind to think where McBride would be in the development process had he received decent amount of playing time from the start. But Thibs is loyal he needs his security blanket in Rose. He probably doesn’t even want to give McBride run as he might just make Rose unnecessary going forward. Thibs didn’t even want Cam on the team because he knew it would interfere with his rotation. He hated the trade because management would want to see what they traded for and in the end management literally had to step in and force him to play McBride and Cam much to his dismay.

Sad thing is JVG even called him out. Thibs is Tom Coughlin before he made a change in his way of coaching, he was less stubborn and more accommodating.

This is why I never care where players are drafted after the draft. All I care about is if they can help the team win. Both of these players do things that no other player can do on this roster. Am I saying that now we will win every game now that they are getting time? No. I am saying there was many game when our vets clearly did not have it that these guys could have given us a better chance to win. For the people who will blindly say they were not ready before now if you notice half of their positive impact is the constant energy they play with. This translate at all times.

None of these guys are talking to the refs instead of getting back on defense. None of these guys are taking possessions off. Like Obi they might be out of position here or there due to them not getting any experience all year but they will give you everything they have. If you can't see that or see the value that brings to winning we will never agree on this issue.

When I was younger basketball player my coach one rule was if you start to take plays off you are telling him you are tired so he will sub you out and put people in who are "not tired". Are any of these 2 better than Randle? No, but when he feel like it's a lazy day at work these 2 will help you win more than he will.

Clean……I had knick fans against Martin ready to ban me for my early release the deuce posts. Even questioning my basketball history. 🤣

It’s as clear as day. I’ve played pickup with 2 girls that nobody wanted. We beat several teams. I’ve played against retired nba players who come in and have their own 5. We beat them. Why? Not because we are better, but we had the right combination of energy, skills that compliments each other. And we had a deuce type player who made others step up their defense once the see how hard a player is playing.

For what this team needed, very early on in the season. Was clearly a defender at the point of attack. What I don’t get is…..thibs knew this which is why he “so called” hand picked deuce. And why he removed kemba. So we both agree there. You have IQ and deuce to pick from and you pick Burks. Keep in mind we already had a problem with pace b4 Kemba was removed. So that didn’t make since but ok I get it. Here is where I lost it. While Burks is laying an egg as a starter, IQ is finishing games and deuce is murdering the gleague. That’s when I started going hard on thibs and pumping deuce saying maybe we already have our answer at point in IQ or deuce. Take a shot with deuce and pull him when rose returns. Worse case he goes to bench. Best case he’s the missing piece. Guess I’m more of the gambling type.

I have no problem being wrong. I’m not perfect. But I agree with you. It was clear very early on the season that our second unit was our best unit. And IQ lead the second unit all season. But we already have skill guys and scorers all over the roster. We don’t have a deuce type pg on defense. We don’t have an IQ type guard who plays at the pace we need, which helps Randle. Randle said he wants to play at a faster pace. All this was early to mid season. So thibs had plenty of chances to adjust and refused.

Thank God for Covid protocol. I was ready to start a release grimes thread. Next might be release Randle thread from team. And free up Obi.

HOLD UP! This goes against everything he did with respect to Sims, Obi, Grimes and McBride the whole season. He is literally taking the side I been on from the start of the year now and acting like he been doing it all along. He also spit in the face of all the fans who defended him sitting the youth all this time. Who would have guessed Thibs would try to gaslight us near the end of the season after being so steadfast in his want to play vets at all costs(even possibly his job). Maybe there is more context to this clip or something because this is a crazy change in philosophy. Just recently he was admonishing fans for wanting adjustments and wanting the youth to play more. Does this mean that Thibs is also now breaking apart the locker room? or is that just an only the fans thing?

This legit might be the first time I did a double take watching a clip from an interview.

Now I believe this new thibs is perfect for the yoots. This shows me the problem was not just thibs. Thibs is just the cook. He doesn’t buy groceries. So if the FO knows this then they have to provide the roster that Thibs can play. Stop giving this man options. Give him 5 starters…..5 bench players…….and the rest are fill ins. Keep it simple for thibs. Even without Kemba, we are still 15 deep. That’s great from the FO perspective but terrible for a coach like thibs who operates best with a short rotation. Clearly we need to shed some weight this off season.

Nice base to start a team rebuild. Personally I like taj and Burks and even rose. But rose is too good to play 3rd string. And deuce is loose so do you move him back to 3rd string and the gleague or you play him and trade rose. Kemba is gone. And I think Randle is too. But I could be wrong.

Time for the FO to earn their pay.

Keep adding 2 way players like cam. You don’t need half the roster of vets when we are trying to figure out which yoot is a keeper. We can’t keep them all. Don’t worry about who’s ready and who’s not. Just watch who’s impacting the game and who’s not. Which player is making other players better.
