I just want to know if there’s any recent scouting of him that can give an idea of what he really is at this point. There’s very little mentioned about him this season. The hype around his Rising star award is gone. My baseline is how does he compare to Tyler Kolek, same age , size and overall game, who is the top PG at the college level right now. I just want to her a feel for how good Rokas really is at this point. I’m stuck between wanting to sign him and wanting to draft a first round PG like Kolek, Carter or McCain.

Off top I envision a 2ndary ball handler. Can defend SGs given his size and length. Can shoot or create off the kick outs from a broken down defense.

Shake is older and has been in the league for 6 years. I don't think we can say he's a better a prospect than the Rok. I don't even think we can call Shake a prospect at this point. That said, I they have different skills. The Rok is a point guard who can get the team into it's sets. Shake is a combo guard who can spot some minutes at point guard, like Burks did for the team a few seasons ago. Also, the Rok was an early second round pick. A lot of mocks had him going first round I think he was picked ahead of Deuce.

Joku has assembled a strong resume and list of achievements at a young age, including the 2022 EuroRising star.

He has positional size and length.

He has scoring potential and passing potential. But more than that, he just plain wins.

As with many Euro players, we can wonder whether his skills translate to the athleticism and timing of the NBA. This guy shows gamer. We caught a glimpse in USA vs LIT (spoiler, Joku wins).

So, while I don’t necessarily have the info to say you are wrong, your post similarly lacks any basis for Supporting you are right. So, what do you have to back it up?

Rokas was a stash pick, those always go later and many times they end up gems. It was also a dicey gamble because it was not a given he would ever come over, thus hurting his stock a bit. He is a highly touted Euro prospect.

Rokas was an early 2nd round pick, and its not unusual for EURO guys to go later if they aren't projected to come over right away. I mean Jokic was the 44th pick? Manu was 56th? And I'm sure you could find a ton more.

Not sure what that has to do with anything though, Rokas can play. He'd be a 1st rounder easily in this draft if he was coming over.

There are many bad examples, like Kevin Pangos, who dominated in the EuroLeague. It's the NBA where even the best European players don't fit in. Two years or so will pass, and I'll talk to my agent about going to the NBA.

But before that, I'll have to feel 100 percent confident that at least I'll have a chance to fight for the minutes. For example, I come to the US, and they say that you will play in the G League, and sometimes you will be with the main team. Then it's better to improve in the EuroLeague.

There are players who openly say that they are EuroLeague athletes and don't see themselves in the NBA. How do you rate the playstyle across the Atlantic and your options there?
Now it's hard to imagine me there. But I didn't imagine myself in Barcelona before the season or in Zalgiris a couple of years ago. I don't always dream too much, I look at it from a realistic point of view. At the moment, I can't imagine myself in the NBA because there's another world out there, but I'd really like to try to establish myself in there.

I believe there was a plan. Baring a trade or a draft pick beating him out with Grimes and IQ out there is path.
Does that mean he has a guaranteed for minutes? Doubt that. But perhaps a role where he gets an opportunity. Show up in the SL, then have a reasonable path given roster constructions. Maybe it works. Maybe he gets beaten out by a rookie but if good enough he can be traded, or released with a nice bag of money for his troubles.

Lets take Deuce down just a notch. Kid is not superman yet. Now Im not saying he won't have a major role, he will. Bit more consistancy would be nice but I expect improvement for sure. Could be next big trade chip also. Hope not, but we have learned if it elevates the team to new heights its worth it.
Rokas? He has not earned a guaranty yet that he even gets that chance. Thats what Summer league is. Not just games, but in practice he has to be head and above others that don't have contracts. We have picks, and for all we know he could be trade fodder for a team that really likes him.
Knick move could be a late 1st or 2nd and Rokas for AJ griffin and let Bryant work with the kid for a year or two? Just spitballing. Get a kid whose NBA warts are seen and work on it. Rokas may be really good, but he has to pass the muster and earn Thibian trust.
