I agree. I think I am going to take a break from this board till the regular season starts because all the whining is simply atrocious.

Seriously, it's flat out dumb around here.

No matter how much a person may hate a player, to not recognize they helped the team into the playoffs is idiotic.

I'm not a Lin fan by any stretch, but the kid got work done, and carried the team while the stars were away.\

Then when Lin and amare went down, Melo carried the team on his back as well, and got them into the playoffs down the stretch.

How can this seriously be misconstrued? Is the hate that bad?

I'm waiting for you all to give Melo and others some credit then I'll cut back.

what players... chandler doesn't get flak.. he is a fantastic player and person from what I have heard.. he is living up to his end of the deal..

Amare gets credit, heck he had this team with a bunch of young kids at 28-26 before we made the mistake of a trade

kidd doesn't need credit, he is one of the best PG's of all time.. his work speaks for itself..

shumpert gets credit, we love the kid..

why the heck should melo get any more credit than anyone else... what has this guy done in his career to get credit, what has he done for the knicks? except run a coach out of town and issue busch league remarks about one of the teams favorite players... oh and he quit on the team earlier this year... this guy should get credit? for what???

Whether you like it or not he's a millionaire, superstar and some people are jealous.

Nalod,

pretty funny stuff with infinitilov100.

The best way to prove your point is to create a silly caricature of an idiot with an opposing view and badabing - makes them all look silly.

SNL does this all the time - I find it pretty comical there too. Laugh my ass off. And ... IT REALLY WORKS!

This reminds me of Andy Kaufman may he RIP and his creation of the bonehead comic Foreign Man and the idiot Tony Clifton who's job was to antagonize people.

What would be really funny if you had the stones to admit it and keep the character going - just like Andy Kaufman did with TC. Whats the point of all this comedy if you can't take credit for it?

tkf, one thing I give your credit for and respect is that you are actually honest about your hate and bias. We all have hate guys and we have that right. Melo is yours and that is your right. At least you are not bullshytting and making believe you like him. "I like MELO but .............. and ............"

I actually find this refreshing and different than the others who don't like him that all sound exactly the same with the same robotic opinions.

Hate him - it is your right as a fan. You would probably hate him if he wins a ring here - it is a predisposition and again your right. How many Yankee fans hate AROD. MANY. And now that they won with him, he is still hated. I could care less for the guy.

funny thing with A-rod, as a yankee fan, I used to like him when he was with seattle.. over the past few years, I began to really dislike him.. I am not a fan of selfish guys, but the one thing I will say about A-rod in comparison here.. A-rod was a supreme talent.. I think he is more comparable to lebron in that aspect...

A-rod is not affable - Melo is (opinion)

Kobe was the most selfish player I have ever seen, did/do you hate him? Probably not since he did not derail your people. This is the one part you are not truly honest about - how much of your hate is bias due to losing Gallo and the MDA fiasco? That would explain why you have zero Amare hate and make all those excuses for his ineptitude.

More likely Andy's channeling Jim from Taxi who is actually the forgotten secret love child of the Knick's owner and JayZ. Yes, I'm saying that our owner is a hermaphroditic weasel.

Please, not even SNL on it's best day could come up the amount of wistful Nyets love Nalod brings to the table.

That whole autograph signing thread was classic, though. Reality show/Seinfeld rerun-quality stuff.

YouTube is blocked at work. And I have better things to do at home. Like letting the waist out on my Melo jersey.

And by the way, did you prefer the homemade POV one, or the widescreen Russian pirated version? The POV vid is kind of low quality, but the one where the czar is holding the camera actually captures the true spirit of NY basketball, as JayZ actually forces Dolan to both squeal like a pig and play a mean blues banjo...while staring at picture of Humph at a urinal.

Maybe I should up my meds...

November cannot arrive soon enough...

Thats what I thought.

Kobe is/was an extremely selfish player. Ask Shaq or read PJax's book. Take away Shaq/Gasol and bye bye rings, then I guess he is just another selfish player without rings.

I watched Kobe in the olympics and he was un-watch-ably selfish.

your not being completely honest here. You just hate the guy and its ok.

what I am saying is that lin brought a dynamic to this team we just don't get from our multi million dollar stars..

Hello? The other players brought dynamics too but some are too busy up in Lin's Azz.

I bowed out of this thread early on (like the 1st 3pages) and I go away for a couple of days only to find this shyt is up to 10+pages. WTF.....some of you folks have serious issues. This goes beyond fandom into a very uncomfortable territory.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

tkf, one thing I give your credit for and respect is that you are actually honest about your hate and bias.

I used to despise kobe, but respected him.. selfish? hmm, not so sure, if anything he was serious about winning and his work ethic was second to none.. was kobe a douchebag? most likely, but he won and that was his priority.. big difference... had we traded gallo and crew for kobe, I would have no problem.. so really saying this is about the gallo trade is not true... it is about having a player in melo on my team, that I really don't care for... and don't believe in...

DUDE, GET over it.. Lets be honest.. carmelo is not on the same planet as kobe, and shaq and gasol have rings because of kobe, that can easily be argued... Elite players have a bit of selfishness in them, but the key is winning. carmelo is a fat toad, he doesn't put in the work to be great, that was highlighted by his former coach george karl.. but I am sure you will find a way to make Karl a villian here... lol..

you might as well say, take away phil and pippen and MJ is another selfish player without rings.. rofl.. your logic fails..

Kobe and MJ are great, they are elite, elite players tend to win.. no excuses.. melo is a douchebag, he is selfish and on top of that he doesn't win..so he doen't deserve the benefit of the doubt. He seems to be elevated around knickland to the levels of guys like lebron and kobe, but when the comparisons come up, the excuses are.. well no one is lebron and kobe... having the cake and eating it too, I guess..

lets be real.. carmelo has never won a scoring title, yet you hear this bullcrap about him being the "best pure scorer".. lol.. what the hell is that?

He has never made first team all NBA...

never won an mvp

never been to a finals, and has the worst playoff record in NBA history among active players.. heck, maybe among inactive as well..

So No, it is just not my dislike for melo... the guy is just not that great.. so while you label it as hate, yea, I dislike him, but i am also stating facts here...

not sure what bringing kobe up does for your argument... really don't....

is kobe selfish? yes, but kobe cares about winning, he has manged to elevate guys around him.. not kill their games.... so in the end, if I had the choice between two douchebags.. give me the better one..

Kobe by a mile.. what fans need to realize is that melo is most likely closer to guys like joe johnson( who is a very good player) than he is to the dwayne wades, kobe's, durants and lebrons of the league...

lets drop this ridiculous discussion man...

Kobe aint Jordan or Lebron. You have no clue what selfish means and it is evident the way you beat around the bush in your argument.

Melo is not Kobe, he is more like Paul Pierce. Melo's numbers (Points (Kobe 25.6-Melo 24.7), FG% (Melo 45.6-Kobe 45.3), FT% (Kobe 83-Melo 80), attempts (Kobe 19.6-Melo 19.3) ...) are almost identical to Kobe, Melo averages 1 more rebound a game while Kobe averages 1.5 more assists. Kobe is the better defender and as Nalod suggests, possibly has more NASTY. Winning looks really good on his resume but you so blatantly disregard Shaq? One of the best players I have ever seen and far more dominant and efficient than Kobe? Are you insane? Shaq leaves, goes to Miami and badabing - wins a title. How interesting. Gasol/Odom/Bynum/Kobe? WHO the FUK cares! He's a proven winner!

Kobe was/is as selfish as they come - just ask his coach(es). Killing plays, quitting on his team, alienating teammates. But he was a nasty SOB and was definitely put in the right position. How many times did PJax try to get him traded? Do your homework!

Paul Pierce? KG? What did they win before joining the super-squad? Squat!

Never made first team all nba? who cares? 2nd team, 3rd team, its all good. Tyson Chandler won DPOY and HE DIDN'T EVEN MAKE THE ALL DEFENSIVE TEAM!!!

You are not sure what bringing up Kobe does to the argument because you know nothing about Kobe. I know his stats, followed him closely and read what his coach had to say about him. You are just making disconnected, silly declarations that just enhances the flaws in your position.

I never say that Melo is "the best pure scorer" blah blah blah blah - And, I don't say that about Kobe either. Durant? Lebron? Even Wade? Far better than both.

Kobe and Melo are both far less efficient than the aforementioned, and so was/is Paul Pierce. Study the numbers for once - you seem quite inhibited by facts and stats.

And once more, For the record, I don't think Melo is Durant, Wade, Lebron. He is not JJ either - that is just silly even for you. He is more in the league of PP.

Try to use stats for once in your argument (if you care to be taken seriously)

Not to beat a dead horse, but...
