Lin/Kidd
JR Smith/Shump/James White
Melo/Novak
Amare/Jeffries
Chandler/Camby
BN:Balkman, Gadzuric

Hopefully we pick up another SG or Combo guard who can hit the 3.
And one more useful big man?

Some interesting lineup possibilities. I like

Kidd (dish)
Shump (D, finish on the break)
JR (SHOOT!)
Melo (Shoot!)
Camby (rebound, defend)

Balkman got waived.

Jared Zwerling: Hearing Mike James will be soon on #Knicks radar as a candidate for 3rd-string point guard. James played on Knicks' D-League team this year. Twitter

Danny Green: Its been a wild road and I'm not done yet...but I'm a very happy man right now lol...looks like I'll b a spur for a lil while longer #GSG Twitter

Antawn Jamison is edging closer to making a decision about whether he’ll finish his NBA career with the Charlotte Bobcats. But he’s not there yet. “It will probably be another week or so,” Jamison said Monday. “But I definitely want to come here. It’s always been a dream of mine to play here.” Charlotte Observer

Hope we go for a shooting guard before getting that third point guard. We need a SG!

If the Knicks are looking at James maybe they should just bring back bibby. Bibby is younger, played well in the playoffs, and has a great relationship with Woodson.

He did play well but we need players that are younger and have the ability to penetrate.

Patrick Mills resigns with Spurs.

So Gary Neal could be available, if we somehow manage to trade for Kidd.
Gary Neal is not afraid of shooting the ball, okay at penetration/finishing, not bad facilitator *but Spurs basketball/coach gets credit*, and he has good size, can play PG/SG but I think Foye is the better defender, while Neal would be the better shooter, especially with limited minutes/shots.

Zach Lowe in an article said that the Knicks have partial bird rights for Jeffries. Does anyone know if this is accurate?

Suns free agent forward Grant Hill offered little at USA practice other than he's not retiring and he is considering the Lakers.

JJ has played 1 and half seasons.
He was bought out at Houston then rejoined the Knick's after Melo was traded.
It was after the All Star break, near playoffs I think, so not sure if we get Early Bird Rights on that.

Just out of curiosity how many playoff teams have money left? Have most spent the MLE now? From memory the following have used their exemption:

Spurs- Diaw
Clippers- Crawford
Knicks- Kidd
Nets- euro guy
Heat- Allen
Celtics- spent their cap space

Not sure about the rest. I'm just wondering who has money left to spend on cheap FAs we might target to fill the rest of our roster.

Also saw that the Bulls declined Ronnie Brewer. He's a UFA. Could be a nice short term pickup at SG.

People lets remember that Lin and Novak were Vet minimum guys last year and how well they played. It is not always the name you know that helps you. Sometimes you just have to find that talent who fits a need and put it all together. Maybe James White is that for us or maybe is a guy we will sign in the future.

I think he is that type of person, that would fit in with our players and grind out philosophy.
He doesn't play for get stats, he is pure heart and hustle, and is just a solid player.
He does not take bad shots and is a team player.
I really like Brandon Rush, as I think his defense would compliment Iman and now TC/Camby.
He is 6'6 can play SG/SF, athletic, long reach, plays tough, and hit 3point shot at a very good % last year.
He was one of the leading guards on the league last year that did a little of everything.
His playing time was inconsistent and mainly played 20-25minutes but when he did play starter minutes he was great.
As G/F defended the hardest guy, grabbed a good amount of RBs, scored 10-20pts a game, with 1-3 combined steals/block per game with his length.

For the 2 future 2nd round picks, 2.1m cash for TD salary * we might as well give Houston the full 3m, Jorts *has unique skills for a big with potential*, Jordan *not sure how to evaluate him without seeing if he improved*
I would have settled with Lee though, he is still a good role player
Courtney Lee is a smaller player and not as strong as Rush, but he put up greater numbers.
Honestly, for what we gave Houston, we should have just thrown in Gadzuric, and the full 3m for a S&T for Lee with Camby.
But Camby wanted to make more than the 3m and Lee wants a decent long term deal.
I am not sure, but I think something could have been worked out.
Since Lee wasn't extended a qualifying offer, Houston has no interest in resigning him.

I don't know if Grunweld, Camby, or Lee couldn't make it work, or if Houston didn't want us to improve and continue screwing us.
By offering the extra 1m or so left, after TD contract, and Gadz contract being waived right after,
We should have got both players

Camby and Courtney Lee *to stick it to Nets, the damn that drafted him*

I know he is a knucklehead but if I was with the Knicks I would try to sign Blatche if the Wizards use their amnesty on him. I like Jeffries but I still want an offensive option at 4 with Camby at the 5. Maybe with a good team Blatche attitude changes at least for a year to repair his image.

I'd trade for him. Knicks still lack talent.

Amare and Lin are question marks.

At least with Chandler, Melo, and Smith you know what you are going to get.
