wake me up when this fool ever leads a team to a championship.

i hope he gets to the finals. i want to see him piss his trousers again when he sees dwade coming at him.

OUCH! dirk was up 2-0 in that series before the refs totally jobbed dallas.

game 3 -- dallas loses by 2. miami shoots 34 FTs (wade went to the line 18 times), dallas 26 trips.
game 4 -- dallas gets killed. mia has +9 ft advantage.
game 5 -- dallas loses by 1. miami shoots 49 FTs, wade goes to line 25 times, which is the total amount for dallas.
game 6 -- dallas loses by 3. miami shoots 37 FTs to dallas 23. wade goes to the line 21 times on his own.

not going to say its all on the refs, obviously dallas had chances to win. but come on. wade shoots as many FTs as the entire dallas TEAM in 2 of those games!

i don't get why dirk gets hated on so much. the guy has career playoff averages of 25/10, he's been to the playoffs for like a decade straight, his team always wins 50 games, he's an MVP. they got punked by the warriors one year but does that really make dirk a complete dog? if dirk weren't 32 years old i'd take him easily over melo as a franchise guy.

dallas gives up a late 15-point lead in a game 3 loss.

dirk makes 20 of his last 55 shots in the final 3 games as the mavericks lose the finals series 4–2 to the heat.

if it walks like a choke and talks like a choke . . .

haha.

this was the scene at game 5:

"After getting the ball in to Wade with 9.1 seconds left, Dallas committed a controversial foul to send him to the line to shoot two free throws with 1.9 seconds left on the game clock. Wade hit the first free throw when Josh Howard mistakenly called the Mavericks' last remaining time out which would prevent them from advancing the ball should Wade convert on the second attempt. Wade eventually made the second free throw to give his team a one point lead after which Devin Harris attempted and missed a desperate half court buzzer beater. Wade set an NBA Finals record for most made free-throws in a game with 21." dirk really choked there.

Reactions:
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, along with some other NBA observers, accused referees of calling "phantom" fouls against the Mavericks during the series, particularly on Wade's drives to the basket. In March 2011, Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson told reporters that he thought the NBA did this to retaliate against Cuban's brash criticism of the league. "In that Miami series, [Cuban] definitely had it coming that time," Jackson told reporters before the Mavericks-Lakers game on March 12, 2011. "But I think he's toned it down in the last few years. I think that Miami Finals really was a tough one to swallow. I think [Dwyane] Wade averaged about 25 foul shots a game after the second game and you couldn't even touch him. That was really tough for him to swallow and I think he understood that there's sort of a pecking order in this league and you need to keep your mouth shut at times."

people forget the absolute tour de force dirk went on to get the mavs to the finals that year. he was unstoppable against the spurs and then torched our boy d'antoni in the conference finals.

yea, the mavs lost the finals. but he was in the finals! that plus the warriors series where they got punked in the first round leads everyone to believe dirk is a choker. LOL. he wins 50 games every year! he carried his team to the finals once (something our two stars cannot say), where they lost because of controversial fouls on wade.

the guy is unguardable right now and about to effectively end the kobe era. if that is a "choker" fine by me, i hope melo and stat choke more often.

not to mention that for his career in the regular season he has averages of 23/9.

in his postseason career (112 games basically a season and a half) he has averages of 25/11. so he plays better in the playoffs than in the regular season, an attribute not commonly associated with "chokers."

say what you want about the guy, he's consistent and his teams win. he's about to go back to the conference finals for the 3rd time in 9 seasons (03, 06, 11).

i don't argue with what you’re saying. he's a very good player.

but . . .

he really fell apart in the finals. his performance kept getting worse and worse as his team needed him more and more. you could tell he was defeated.

and the series against golden state was pathetic. he even told the press while the series was going on, and he was the league mvp, winner of 67 games and a #1 seed playing a #8 seed, that basically the mavs just couldn’t handle the warriors.

his demeanor and poor performances in those series just stay with me when i think of the guy.

Randolph 20+ points 20+ boards.

Barkeley-esque?

Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans "The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him."

Rondo has been amazing. Berger tweeted that he thought Rondo broke his arm when his elbow was dislocated.

They have so many great qualities of a championship team that can't be denied. I've always maintained how good of a player Rondo is but so many haters try and stamp him down because who he plays with.

FACT The Celtics are better when he plays well

FACT The Celtics are not that good when he plays bad

Rondo plays with 3 hall of famer's and I've seen many a night where he's the best Celtic on the court.

Rondo was amazing tonight. He played with one arm in the fourth quarter.

No doubt, just because his jumper is shaky his critics want to put him in a box, yet he plays extremely well and at times above and beyond in many other areas of the game.

These same fans will then clown Russell WestBrook because he doesn't give the ball up to a Superstar enough saying he's a bad point guard and doesn't make teammates better and say Derrick Rose is a great point guard

So which is it? Is the point guard supposed to give the rock up to better players qualifying him as playing the position correctly and well or is he supposed to be Steve Nash slash Derrick Rose combined?

westbrook coming down, dribbling until there is 5 on the clock, with no passes, and then forcing a bad shot is not good point guard play.

derrick rose coming down, running an offensive set, and then ferociously attacking the paint time and again is good play. it's winning basketball. the bulls won. the thunder lost.

i love rondo's game. watching him live is something else.
