Yeah a lot of analysts doubt that we have a chance to catch ATL, but we had already gained some ground on them and they're not that far ahead. It's possible. Not probable but that could happen. I've never been sold on ATL.

The signs are very good from my view. This style is going to be much more efficient than we've been playing. Less 3pt shots and more midrange and in the paint action. More FT's. Tempo is fast, but not out of control. Once these guys learn the system and get in synch it's going to be an unreal offensive Team. The more efficient this team is, the more wins they'll get. They don't have great defensive players, but so long as they give effort and not allow the other team to shoot a high % or at least as high as we do, then it's all good. That's how D'Antoni teams win.

Man, TD had a great game. I've been bashing, but if he can shoot like he did tonight with the defense sagging on the forwards.... wow

anyone think the week off gave him time for his shoulder to get just a tad better? Or maybe he just had a good game.

Yea, wow. Billups and TD were doing the damn THING out there! I felt like I was watching a playoff game, and then I realize because I'm finally watching Knicks that have been in the playoffs before! I'm on board, gentlemen!

First thing I thought. Hope it is true and I hope he is a bit more careful of opposition screens.

If it was a matter of him just getting healthy, I'm happy, because he had a great run the end of last year. Was hoping he'd build on it. If he does, suddenly the PG situation becomes a major strength. 48 minutes of TD's game tonight plus Billups'? yeah, I'll take it!

Great atmosphere at the Garden, though fans need to stop chanting during Free throws, and "Melo" chanted like "Darryl" is obnoxious, and almost insulting.

Best player on the floor tonight, without a doubt, was Toney Douglas. Guy made everything he took and had the single biggest play in the game- the offensive rebound that extended the possession and allowed Carmelo to hit the icing shot. Douglas played great ball, and I think he's gonna be fantastic when he gets to play off guard next to Billups.

Billups and Melo not great from the field tonight, but man they filled the rest of the box score. Melo was our best rebounder tonight. Chauncey with 8 assists and 6 rebounds and he never misses FT's. If Chauncey has this kind of game in him on a regular basis we will win some playoff games for sure.

Knicks now have Amare, Melo and Billups closing games. Should we ever blow a lead anymore? I think not.

It could also be the product of adding a star that allows him to not have to be the primary ballhandler. If one of Melo, Amare, or Billups is on the floor, he can play off that guy at his natural position.

Yeah, you're right... a 6 point win at home against a powerful Bucks' team with a gimpy center and no inside game, who were playing their second game in 2 nights should silence any doubters around here.

Yup.

A win against the same Bucks team that swept the Knicks last year and beat a Knicks team, consisting of Chandler, Gallo and Felton, earlier this season by almost thirty

yup.

as a guy with a bad shoulder thats exactly what I was thinking. I really watched TD closely last year and he's simply a better player than he's been this year, and I think the coaching staff knows that and has faith in him. You guys know I have a soft spot for home grown guys and I love the way this guy plays... full throttle. He an CB looked good together in the small line up.

a few thoughts...
Bogut had a bad game. Never seen a white boy more in need of a make over. Some dudes can roll with the grunge look. He just looks homeless. You wonder if he could be a force in the league if his career hasnt been marred by bad kinda freakish injuries

8 guys played and Melo took almost 1/3 of the Knicks shots. Wow. Good job working on the glass though. Defense not so much. How did Salmons end up with 27? Yikes...

VDesai nailed it... with Billups, Amare and Melo in crunch time the Knicks should really be able to close games. Melo earned his check last night... big shot in crunch time. When you take 25 you gotta hit the big one

Turiaf is very solid. Its really too bad he's made of glass and anything more than 20 minutes results in things breaking. I hope he picks up his PO next year.

Glad we dont have Jennings. I dont think he's good. My knock on him was guys that are 6'0, 155 pounds, shoot < 40% and arent named Allen Iverson dont make great NBA players. I'm glad we went with Felton and now Billups. Jennings just doesnt do much that impresses me. Very shimpy. He strikes me as the guy that will drag a franchise along for 3-4 years while they wait for him to get good. I just dont see it.

Shawn Williams is a tough dude and turning into a very solid defender. He made some very nice plays on Maggette and Delfino. Nice role player

If we can ever get back to some of the ball movement we had prior to the trade we are going to be a nightmare to defend.

Playing against the Cavs will be like a nice scrimmage warming up for the Heat.

Former. He moved better than he has in many mnoths. Billups is exactly the Rx he needed TD just never had a real leader like Billups to learn from. He's always been able to shoot like that.

I agree will all of this.

Melo missed more than a couple of assists but that is to be expected with no practice and first time playing together. He jacked up a lot of shots but they were all good shots. I don't remember one bad shot.

Billups is my new favorite. Dude is just savvy and talented. I did not know that he was a terrific in-traffic passer. He is also looking to push the ball. It would have been nice if either Gallo or Wilson was still here cause those guys flourish in transition and Billups would have a field day passing for layups.

Turiaf is great and give s a lot of energy. Dude needs to learn how to box out. They didn't teach boxing out in Gonzaga?

Shawne Williams is a very good defender. He is always moving his feet and never plays defense with his hands. He is always upright and that is why they don't call the blocking fouls on him.

Good game. We saw how good we can be and we saw what we need.

Just watched most of the second half this morning. Wow. Billups is a definite leader here. Agree with everyone saying he reminds a little of Derek Harper. His passing in traffic is much better than Felton's - I think he'll eventually develop chemistry with Amar'e on the pick and roll. Which, let's be honest, was essentially a lost weapon with Felton running it. It almost never happened.

Melo shoots a lot. I don't think he's going to pass any more than he did last night. I hope he can, because the ball movement between he and Amar'e could be amazing. And Fields and Shawne Williams should be getting tons of open looks. Toney, too.

And I said this when we were talking about Melo's strengths - he is a great rebounder on both ends for his size. He might wind up being our leading rebounder here. My bet is that both he and STAT will be over 8 per game the rest of the way. With Billups and Fields being excellent rebounders from the guard positions, we may actually be okay on the boards from here on out. Not a dominant rebounding team - and teams with huge bigs like Boston or Orlando might give us trouble. But against the Miami's, Atlanta's and Chicago's of the world, I think we can win the rebounding battles.

Agree on Shawne Williams D. He was really impressive last night. He was even keeping Bogut off the block. Guy was playing center last night! We don't want that long term, but he did a good job.
