This is the correct analysis !

Brunson hogged the ball. KAT was an afterthought.

I’ll also add we had like 5 ridiculously bad, out-of-character unforced turnovers. We need to put this in the past and refocus

Fuck that, we were up 7 at half and the refs put us in the penalty with 10 min left 22+ ft to 8ft in the second half that’s the game and we still had a chance to win .!refs handed the spurs this game on a silver plater

What’s 22 ft to 8 ft mean? I agree we were hosed by refs in that stretch especially w all the mugging we were getting

Never mind. Free throws. I thought you were saying feet

Yeah free throws .

I’m disgusted the refs did there job to extend the series … without that help we win this game. We had all the momentum going into the second half and we got mugged by the refs and how they allowed them to play us.

It’s not fair when they can play that way but when we do it’s a foul…

I’m not happy .

We can blame the refs. I’d blame the unforced turnovers. We know the refs are unfair. They need to play better

Agree with this.

I agree with that too… unnecessary sloppy passes .

Honestly super surprised fox hit that shot when we needed a miss he sucks .

We now that the refs helped I would think they call a far game for game 4 and we win with ease .

I mean if the free throws were even tonight both teams go to the line the same amount of times we win period.

But we never went on a run in that second half because of foul trouble.

Hate that. We also missed shots we make . And the ball pounding was too much … gotta get back to towns at the top of the key and getting open looks.

But again we need to buck up and play our ball . This might be the wake up we needed just like the hawks series . Next game we need to keep on the gas up 7 at half and if we just kept up the ball movement we win this game. Regardless of fts .

But again the free throw discrepancy was gross tonight… only reason we lose tonight if we go to the line the same amount of times they did we win big .

Also, while I think we gave this game away and it is our fault primarily, what I object to on the reffing side is the extreme non-calls. There were several acts of outright violence against Brunson that didn't even register with the refs. That concerns me, because it will now embolden the Spurs to try to harm Brunson and take him out of the series. That's where this is heading if something isn't done.

I feel the same way as I did when we choked against Indiana in Game 1 last year.

Re-Set

We played poorly and barely lost and I don't believe we'll allow them to bully us like that again

Spurs are chasing the Knicks off the line. Gotta give Mikal and OG to shoot over them.

Wemby is guarding Hart and floating off him. Hart needs to start wearing his running shoes and make Wemby follow.

If they are gonna push to the line, need to start running some motion sets.

Push the pace. This game was much slower.

I’d pay for a 538 analysis on the non-calls.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Yeah the consist hand checking of Brunson is bull **** . When are we for once going to get the ref advantage??? We are owed one after that BS …

I hope we call the nba and point out the hand checking… that bs flagrant on Brunson was the turning point and with the refs help there was no looking back .

I’m gonna say it here first whimpy is the most overrated superstar he’s just good because he’s tall and has a ok shot . Pretty sure if he was just 7’ tall he wouldn’t even be starting . He’s skinny as f and is way too inconsistent. Gotta involve towns more and expose his weak asss .

Knicks in 5 or 6 I feel like we deserve to see us win at the garden after this BS we had to deal with tonight with the refs handing them the game .

That’s a +16 free-throw attempt advantage for San Antonio in the second half alone. Knicks coach Mike Brown specifically called out that discrepancy after the game

Spurs: 32 FTA (25 made)
* Knicks: 22 FTA (18 made)

That is the game right there

Up 7 at half and the refs took control of the game to favor the spurs . No calls and any touch call was called on us …

That is clearly an unfair advantage.

And we still almost pulled it off … because we are clearly the better team, that shouldn’t have lost tonight.

God the more I think about the second half the more it pisses me off … the refs knew exactly what they were doing and clearly were giving SA the advantage… I really hope game 4 is different.

This makes me so mad. Not the loss, because while it is frustrating, I can’t ignore the huge elephant on the room:

The Spurs have been allowed to become the spoiled brat that gets his way through illegal shoving and hitting. Last night was a disgrace to the sport.

And we as fans get frustrated and hope for our team to hit back, but should they do it the same blatant way just to hit right back? I, as furious as I am right now, even I hit the breaks a bit on it.

The thing is that the Spurs are playing like children that didn’t get the toy they wanted so they will just push, shove and break anything on their way. The fact that they are being allowed to do so in such a blatant way reminds me of the many times I’ve just wanted to stop watching the NBA product.

Our Knicks were out of sorts and played badly last night? Try doing your job the right way while your coworkers hit you and make illegal stuff and tell me that won’t affect you? They still had many runs on the game so they were still the team we love, but everytime there was a ref calling us a foul while their tackling and shoving was simply ignored.

Last night was disgraceful for the NBA. Putrid! Now it’s not just like the Knicks have to win for this to be fair, but if the NBA and the refs let San Antonio tackle and shove their way to a dirty championship, I might quit for good on this pathetic irresponsible and corrupt league.

I’m sorry but what’s the right amount of intensity allowed? Because for one you have Knicks players touching the hair of a Spurs player and being called a foul. On the other side you have Wemby and Carter tackling players to no whistle.

Ok, we were punched in the nuts tonight. Is that allowed then? Because if so, I hope the Knicks come out next game kicking balls all around, but the moment they get called for a foul, then what?

Last night the officiating was a disgrace in epic levels. One thing is to be physical and another is to play through flagrant fouls while the whistle vanishes.

I really want the Knicks to hit them right back the same way, but I know that they will not get the same whistle, so it’s a lose-lose situation.

Maybe I’ve seen too many videos of their players hitting us, especially that Wemby shove of Brunson, but I’m done.

SHOVE THEM BACK! And then go back to the KAT ball and beat their behinds because without their shoves they are nothing special. Especially Fugazy Wemby.

1) Mikal got two early fouls. Once he was benched the guards got to the rim at will.

2) Shamet plays with ferocity but just couldn’t shoot for a lick tonight.

3) Brunson showed signs of breaking his slump. But those 5 turnovers are costly.

4) KAT needs to be more involved.

5) The Spurs are getting away with a lot of nonsense. NBA should be ashamed. You can let the men play. Just call it straight.

6) When the Spurs got called on fouls, it was generally after the Knicks got past their defender and an off ball call. Not all fouls are equal.

7) Browns use of the challenge was ACES this game.

8) I am prepare to get my heartbroken. But this game was a sham. You can’t have one guy that can toss players to the ground with no call and another get a flagrant for landing 18 inches away “recklessly”. One team can steamroll the other and the steamrolled player gets the foul? It’s nonsensical.

This is very good, point 1 in particular. I would add we need to dribble less and play faster

apparently the reason why refs refuse to give Wemby a flagrant no matter what he does is because the next one he gets suspended. So he can do anything and they will not call it. If our whistle is this bad vs the Spurs can you imagine how bad it would have been VS OKC? By the way you should never get landing space fouls when the person that shot the 3 lands with both feet inside the 3pt line.

They were extremely physical w Brunson and frankly all of our players when they had the ball. That was smart of them to disrupt our passing and flow. We had to pay more attention to the on ball defense. That said, I don’t think they’re trying to will be emboldened to take Brunson out.

We need to handle the back court and half court pressure a lot better. We piss away shot clock. Give them more time to get organized on defense and frankly if all our guys stop touching the ball it shows up in our offense and defense. Too much hero ball

Didn't know Wembitch was this dirty. Little fooker shoving smaller players is disgusting. Imagine KAT doing that? Hr gets a flagrant and a technical.

Also the quick whistles in the second half (and frankly the first) had huge impacts. Took Mikal out of the game and he’s needed to guard their big guards. And in the second half we needed to play a bit softer once we were in penalty

That said, we needed to control what we can control and that’s paying attention to the details like unforced turnovers and playing to our best advantages

Hopefully the nba and refs realize this looks horrible, particularly so in the age of online betting w the NBA leaning into that

Problem is that we don't have a dirty player to retaliate. This game felt like the first 2 loses to ATL
