Give Thibs some credit here as we are starting to see a pattern (a change) where Thibs rests Jalen to start the 4th and has started initiating offense thru Mikal off high screen.

It took some time to bake this in but it's happening and Mikal is making it work --- he's been SO CLUTCH.

Sucks for Tatum, wish him a speedy recovery (let's say a week?)

I think they were 10-14 from 3 early in the 2nd and add in that Tatum hit a number of tough ones over both OG/Kat.

Guessing Margo Robbie may be Brunson's doc/trainer.

everyone talking about Tatum achillies, but it looked more like he broke his foot to me.

Didn’t think he had it in him after the hammy thing but he looked spry

OG had scored a combined 7 points in games 2 & 3 so while I still don't call him reliable (as a scorer) he was BIG TIME last night.

Still scares me going to hoop - again last night completely botched 2 wide open finishes and had 2 other layups awkwardly clank and fall in the basket. His coordination for an elite NBA wing is very odd.

I agree with this 100%.

I couldn't sleep last night so happily sat down and re-watched game.

My initial feel after watching 1st time was that Kat was MEH in the game but watching the 2nd time my mind changed completely.

- yes - he makes bonehead fouls and decisions EVERY GAME (this is who he is -- a little Julius like)
- last night he punished the Celtics at the rim 11-15 (23 points) and 11 boards. He had 3 other buckets waived off for either defensive/offensive fouls - could have easily been 14-18 and +30 points. Kat also thru his elbows around a few times going aggressively downhill to the rim.

- On D Tatum got the best of him but Kat defended him well (mostly) and made Tatum put up 3s in iso situations.

The biggest change to our fortunes is getting Kat out of drop coverage and forcing both Kat/Jalen to switch/guard.

Mikal had a couple that surprised me. And 7 in total.

The one with Horford draped over his back was huge.

Yes - he always has those immature moments but his touch/talent is so great he can have a line like that.

Thought him guarding on switches was key in our 3 wins...even if Tatum got him a number of times last night.

I know I underestimated his impact on games. Even off the bench while still getting into shape, he was definitely a key cog player that was missing from the Knicks rotation all year.

I can't wait til next year when they'll hopefully have a fully healthy and in shape Mitch with Huk

KAT held up in the second half, refs swallowed their whistle a bit and let him bump a little bit and on the perimeter and Thibs seemed to remove any bit of “recover” from his strategy and did a full blown switch at any sign of a screen. That’s the way it has to be to limit confusion on the rotation and help schemes. And KAT is either gonna hold up like he did on the second half or get in foul trouble but it seems like the only way to limit the 3 point barrages.

Yep - just switch and everyone else in good/solid help position.

Too big too strong too long

You reading the T-shirt you are wearing or you referring to Mitch or both?

Feel like it's there a lot more than Knicks ball handlers are aware. Good to see if finally come to fruition

its crazy I really underestimate Ihart, because if we had Ihart/Randle and Divo instead of KAT I think we are a better team. But... that just wasnt possible.

Good point I figured it would be very clunky but Mitch frees Kat up and they work well together.

What a win, and a great job by all top 7 Knicks showing up when it counts in their own ways.

I thought he was on his toes (right foot) straining to push off to beat OG to the ball - that's typically achilles territory.

KD did something similar trying to push off his toes to drive when he went down.

Same - I had Mitch traded at least 100 times.

I haven't been able to focus on the games and get a good enough feel if the double big lineup is working, or just work against Boston?

Can this be a starting pair if the team has enough time to figure it out and has Huk and whatnot backup healthy?
