Kidd is pass first and pass always. he plays on the perimeter and only shoots if he has an open 3.

don't you think playing next to a score first guard who drives the lane all the time might be a decent fit for him?

I say starting Lin and Kidd next to each other is a good move.

It probably won't happen, Knicks will prob let Lin go. But I think Kidd/Lin would be a great backcourt.

Be for real...Kidd is not here to play SG...

Alot of this is our ESPY Jeremy Lin and his ALL Or nothing Agent Lin is sabatoging our team with no ny loyalty back

Finally NYPost reports it right for a change, once the 1st offer was set Knicks told Lin/Agent they will get a match and that was suppose to be private. Ny promise or public statement to Lin before any media was a good sign, however Lin went out to Rockets inform
GM/Rockets of Knicks intentions.

Thus in turn Hous. to media is why u all seen articles specifically from GM/Rockets says Knicks will match cause Lin told them and they had plenty of time for Lin and Rockets to use Knicks to mod the initial offer and screw our team over again

Forget Lin,
I cant pin this on Dolan the man spends $$ and Lin was going to get ny paid but it didnt work out and all these older knicks will come off books soon but Knicks had to do business deal best interests of team without getting taken

Lin and Agent and Rockets GM brass can say what they want they used the Knicks harsely like many & DJ do not want any guy whom really really dont want to be in ny OR Wants Knickerbocker true blue/orange

Good riddance good bye, woulda been a good lin ending but we'll be ok
Betcha the time warner n folks to get Lin Cable/viewing is happy ? in ny eh

what position was he playing on the Dallas squad when they won a ring?

JJ Barea
Terry
Kidd
DIrk
Chandler

he actually has played from the 1-3, mainly defending SGs and SF's....

Not that I always do this, but If you are going by the boxscores??, then Kidd started at PG and Barea andTerry came of the bench..

http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=301220014

look at the minute allotment - Kidd 39min, Terry 31min, "STARTING SHOOTING GUARD" Stephenson FIFTEEN MINUTES.

if you look at the stats for that whole season - Dirk, Kidd and Terry led the Mavs in minutes. Deshawn Stephenson was at 15mpg for the whole season. http://espn.go.com/nba/team/stats/_/name/dal/year/2011/seasontype/2/cat/avgMinutes/dallas-mavericks

Kidd is older now. Is it really that far out of the realm to suggest:

Lin 30mpg PG / Felton 24mpg PG/SG
Kidd 20mpg SG / JR 24 mpg SG

...and let Shump take his time?

I have a feeling the Knicks are debating the Lin thing... but I think it makes sense to bring Lin back.

Lin did switch agents before negotiating this deal but the Knicks also tOld him to set his market value. I am not sure who to be mad at but if lin's new contract impacts the d12 signin I think you dont match or make Houston think you are not matching.

So who played PG?

well if you look at their post-season minutes from their finals year, Kidd played 35mpg and Barea played 20mpg. and Terry, all 6'2" of him, played 32mpg.

so that's a lot of minutes for short dudes with different skill sets.

If Grunwald's MIA-act today was to nab Felton, last decent PG on market, who HOU'd need, sans Lin, then ‪#Knicks‬ GM is straight-up ruthless.

Love this soap opera! Go team Gruny!

the next episode of the soap opera ends with Lin a Rocket. it wasn't a ruthless act by Grunwald, but an act of desperation. not a bad one... but that's still what it was.

Yes, because that had nothing to do with Michael Andrew D'Antoni, the man you loved to hate, and the man who made something out of a mediocre career Felton had before NY and still has after NY.

That's possible. But it's also possible that Grunwald was just a step ahead of them and went out and god Kidd, Felton AND will match Lin.

Who cares? The fact is Felton's only good year was under MDA. Lin still played well after MDA. Holfresh hates the coach that made Felton have a career year and now is happy Felton's back without that coach lol.

Lets see first. This move does scream letting Lin go, but it wouldn't be crazy to still match Lin and keep him as an asset. The point on the Knicks trying a CP3 deal centered on Lin does make a little sense. I'm not sure even NY is set on what to do. Maybe they jumped on the Felton deal as an insurance in case they dony get Lin. Felton at his suggested 10 mill contract is a pretty tradeable asset.
