They did the best they could but you can't win if all you have left is long jumpers. AND NO that's not the offense. Our role players were taking too many of the shots cuz we can't get our Star bigman into the game. Last year he was dominating cuz we had a PG.

The Defense is there and even the shooting would be better if we just had some penetration, PnR and a PG to lead the team.

unfortunetly the trade is a big part of our problems. some may not want to talk about it but it has had a bad effect so far. Im not a melo hater but he has a lot to prove when he gets back to help this team

So you accuse anyone who doesn't agree with you of being a Melo "Nuthugger" as you called someone in antoher thread. Yet just about every single post I've seen from you, you bash Melo and yet you are not a Melo Hater. Thats a fair and honest assessment....

No problem Uptown anytime LOL

MDA can't possibly be this stubborn. TD and Bibby cannot make any kind of PG play. Even on PnR, they drift and miss the man rolling. Tyson and Amare were open on a lot of occassions.

Ah, great question.

melo?? The blame has been TD this entire season..and still

Douglas shouldn't be in the role he is in. That mistake is on management and the coach.

But he shoulda gotten minutes over Duhon, right?

Absolutely. He wasn't hurt, the Knicks were playing for nothing, started 1-9, Duhon was an expiring and not a part of the future and when Walsh finally traveled with the team he put up huge numbers. Check it. YOu guys link to basketball reference. It was the March Texas road trip.

right, run TD as the PG to the detriment of the entire team. Lee, Gallo, Chandler and whomever else was left would be left with less than crap. You just don't run a team like that. It's painfully obvious after 3 years TD can be a PG, you can't expect him to do much as a rookie.

I get a bit worked up during games and I think I misrepresented my position in my initial response. My point has always been that Toney should not have gotten so many dnps coaches decisions. I believe he had at least 32 that year and he put up very good numbers over the last 21 games. Also looking at a first round pick in hindsight can make you look brilliant. Once Toney got minutes in his rookie year he put up big numbers. As far as development that year I think the guys you mentioned got experience but things were extremely dysfunctional. Hughes, Curry, Nate, and Darko all publicly fueded with the coach. Hill was called a bad rookie and players, coaches and execs in Houston questioned D'Antoni's handling of Hill. Harrington was called the team leader by the coach at the beginning of the season and then called a bad influence on the young guys and the coach reportedly asked the gm to trade him. Not sure how much development was happening that year especially since none of the new guys brought in got any minutes.

It seems like the players, the analysts, and even people who hate the knicks say taht playing a faster offense makes them better and not the crappy isolation plays

I am glad we didn't because I had nightmare last night that a 400 pound Eddie Curry drains a three to beat us at the buzzer. The way things are going it felt more like a glimpse of the future, than a dream.

Right now, we're a borderline lottery team.
We suck. We're an injury away (to one of big 3) from oblivion.

If things don't get better over the next 15 games (half the season will be over),
we should consider tanking the rest of the season and actually making the lottery.
MDA's getting fired anyway and it's a deep draft.
My understanding is that we would retain our pick this year up to #5 protected....
is that true?

Found this on RealGM:

2012 first round draft pick to Houston
New York's own 2012 1st round pick to Houston (top 5 protected in 2012, top 5 protected in 2013, top 5 protected in 2014, and top 5 protected in the 2015 Draft). If Houston does not receive a 1st round pick from New York by the 2015 Draft, then New York will convey their own 2015 2nd round pick and 2016 2nd round pick to Houston. [Houston - New York - Sacramento, 2/18/2010]

2012 second round draft pick to Phoenix
New York's own 2012 2nd round pick to Phoenix (top 55 protected in the 2012 Draft). If New York's own 2012 2nd round pick is in the top 55 picks, then New York's obligations to Phoenix shall be extinguished. [New York - Phoenix, 7/8/2010]

If we start to fall behind too far, I'd tank the season for a top 5 pic lol. Sadly We could use the pic to help us next year in making noise. I can't believe I'd ever say that.

This is the most insane of all the crap MDA gets. You blame him for not developing players that given unlimited scope end up becoming third string scrubs? It's not even remotely possible that MDA was correct not to waste PT on these losers? TD, Hill, Darko etc should never see PT on a decent team. Execs in Houston questioned his handling of Hill? WTF? Didn't the same dumbs hits just cut Hill for nothing?

On one hand it's fun to keep blaming him for not creating chemistry when the roster changes every six months on the other hand you want him to disrupt chemistry by throwing in complete undeserving scrubs into the mix because they whine about their PT to the media?

Damned if you do and double damned if you don't.

Just watched the encore. Douglas killed us in the fourth. He was terrible. But we had no business being in this game. For a while, everything they threw up was going in.

Right now I miss the uncertainty and high dreams we had during the lockout than the putrid product we've seen this season. It's really starting to look like the best that can come out of this is a lottery pick.

Sad state of affairs. It seems like its the Giants and fastforward to the Yankees or Mets the rest of the way. NY basketball simply sucks. We have a shot at being worse than the Nets, and oh boy is that saying something.

43...3 pointers...NBA record 49

Mike Bibby took 8 three pointers in 13 mins of play..has to be a record in any NBA organized event other than the three point contest...Novak took 6 threes in 9 mins of play...The ESPN halftime guys just laughed when they read the stat we took 23 first half three pointers...

The Knicks took 43 three pointers and 41 two pointers...

shruggs. They were falling and this is what the Knicks were given. When your PGs can't penetrate or run a PnR, this is what happens.

That WAS NOT a basketball game last night!

That was an abomination and a disgrace to the game of basketball. There was only one basketball team in the game last night, the Miami Heat.

The Heat played traditional and intelligent basketball. The Knicks on the other hand played some gimmicky crapola of "we are totally out-classed here, so let's just chuck threes all night and hope for the best." What a wonderful game plan right there!

The disgusting thing is that they actually made some of them which will only encourage this garbage further. Why do you think Pay Riley refers to the three pointer as "fool's gold?" Because he knows that every dog has his day and get hot from behind the line. It makes you think that you are a better team then you really are, simply because the final score is close.

That crap last night WAS NOT the game of basketball, that was playing the lottery. I did not watch a basketball game last night, I watched the three point contest but someone forgot to bring the white bonus ball. It's a shame because if they brought that ball, then we may have won.

Thank you oh Great Moustached Offensive Genius for destroying our Knicks not only for hopefully your short remaining time, but for instilling such horrible habits in these players that the next coach will probably never be able to erase. They are now programmed robotic chuckers. Fools gold !!!! and Dantoni is the biggest fool of all.
