The problem is that our two stars are one dimensional players. And the one thing they are suppose to do weel hasn't been happening on a consistent basis which means that we are gonna struggle every game

The defense hasn't been that bad. The offense has been sucking.

I will give you a quick overview. The refs let them play, Melo was pissed for not getting calls, fragrant fouls were being called as regular shoouting fouls., if called at all. Melo' s shot is of, not sure if its the injuries, he made a few by accident tho. Amare played with heart, even playindg d, but the opposision was lackluster. Ameare had a few.boards in traffic. Chandler.had a good game, doing his thing, noone looked for him, Jeffries had the ball passed.to him more... Shumpert was very good knocking down 3's stealing the ball, had few nice passes. Jorts looked great but played very little. What else, Laundry had some moves inside and was present this game ,more so than usual. Suns plays like ****. They really are a bad team. Nash is still fabulous. They just needed like 2 or 3 buckets at the end to win this. Our offense was stuck in mud the whole game, and especially towards the end. Melo and Shump hit tough 3's when game was out of reach and Nash just had to make bis free thsrows to seal it. It was abyssmal, pathetic and we will keep getting schooled ,at least until BD comes back. That's my take

Yea but coaching wasn't a problem before Carmelo came.

it is a problem now because the philosophies don't fit the players imo

I agree that there is a bad fit now. What can I say? Melo never won 60 games, D'Antoni has, twice.

I would argue Melo never played with a PG like Nash. I like MDA but he is not the coach to get us deep in the playoffs every year

based on what? he got the suns deep in the playoffs a few times. you're being reactionary.

I really don't even want to come down on MDA because he is trying I just can't believe we have this philosophy where we need to switch on every possession. It seems like Woodson is to blame because he is not coaching to his players skill sets. MDA is the head coach he should overrule Woodson. Unfortunately MDA doesn't understand defense himself

it really isn't that complicated.

We definitely miss Billups outside shooting

Which bring us to the PG and my now conviction that this team needs to act now and trade for a backup PG like Sessions because even when Baron comes back, you can't place all your hopes in him when he will just be coming back from injury. This team needs two talented point guards to exist. You need a solid backup to Baron. Its a must.

Right now, I'd trade anybody not the big 4 (Big 3 + Shump). I liked them before, but now I wouldn't cry to see Douglas and Fields go. We really need good PG play and this team has none right now. (Can't count Bibby, he is 3rd stringer and not durable enough.)

i agree about that. if we just had a real PG here it would be a much different story.

it's crazy to think that we'd be complaining about the offense under a mike d'antoni team. the defense is playing much better this year and overall i think the rebounding has improved.

strangely optimistic. It would be weird if the Knicks just shut down Melo, Amare for the year and gun for the pick LOL

I am tired of this BS team, problem is there isn't a coach available out there that I would like right now.

With a team as shallow as this, you need both your top players producing.

Scoring % mean little if the player gets hacked and there is no mention of how much they got hacked . This game the regs let them play, too

Why is Harrellson only playing 8 minutes? I thought he does well on both ends relatively speaking.

The switching drives me crazy as well but I'm almost thinking that and Woodson use that to cover any deficiencies that Melo/Amare have in trying to fight over screens...

Either way, the switching is annoying but we didn't lose this game on D.

This was probably the worst shooting display we've seen all season (saying a lot considering how bad we've been on offense) and our point guards still do not know how to set up Amare/Tyson for easy baskets.

I can't tell you how many times I watched Tyson or Amare come up for the pick and roll only for Shumpert to not read it and/or completely ignore it (on one occasion, Shump ran it and instead of passing to an open Chandler for dunk, he launched a contested shot from the key that luckily rolled in).

We missed out in getting Jackson as our coach.

We already know Melo and Amare have given up playing defense.

And teams know that if they even hint at running a PnR, the Knicks will switch and they'll have a C guarded by Shump, Fields or TD.

WTF

As much as I don;t want to give all the blame to D'Antoni, because he doesn't have it all, and as much as I want them to win now, and oh boy do I want that, I really believe this team needs a new coaching staff. Switching, for example, has been here since MDA arrived. Woodson came in with the same idea. It won't change under this staff. And thats just one of the many issues that can be attributed to coaching.

I literally can't believe that Woodson would implement a dumb-ass switching defense. Gotta be MDA. And it absolutely sucks.

Unfortunately Woodson used the same strategy in Atlanta and when talking about what he would bring to the team in an article before the season started, he mentioned the switching would stick. I know it sounds retarded, but switching may be a common logic between them. The fact that it remains after it evidently shows it doesn't work, is really scary.

Switching worked in Atlanta for Woodson because Joe Johnson, Marvin Williams, Josh Smith, Horford are all pretty athletic, strong, and Joe Johnson was big for his position.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Defense has been good up until tonight when the game plan suddenly reverted back to switch on every play when others stated how beautiful it was to watch Shumpert fight over screens. Then we allow the worse offensive team in the league to score 91pts and kill us down the stretch after losing 5 straight games. That and Melo had a terrible game. PG is a huge problem but not the only one imo

Yes, it is very obvious from the 5-9 record that Jackson has led the Warriors to....
