BOOM!!! Pacers don't foul and Lakers get it to D12 for the DUNK! Man this is an impressive game by the Lakers without Kobe, on the road against the best defensive team.

Who said the Lakers can't defend? They really gave great effort tonight.

You know Nix. I really miss the days when you were the chief optimist on the board. You were decent, well informed, civilized and a pleasure to read.

was that George with the anti-clutch three resulting in an air ball? MDA to the rescue. Lakers win with Kobe on the bench.

I appreciate that loweyecue. I've been following this Lakers experiment all year cuz it was such an interesting story. Could they figure out how to make it all work? Get past the egos and hurt feelings. Kobe, Nash and D12 have all made some adjustments in order to make it all work. MDA has Kobe being more of a facilitator and Nash playing off the ball more. D12 gets his touches but he doesn't bitch anymore when the offense is going thru other guys. He has to accept that there are other good players who need touches too.

The biggest thing is that the team is fighting back when they get down and they don't give up on games like earlier in the year. Quietly they're playing faster too. The ball is moving or as MDA always says "The Ball Finds Energy". MDA has more a handle on his rotations and trust with his guys.

Metta is talking about their focus on D. He said that Kobe was talking to them on the bench about executing their PnR coverages and at the end of the game they did get some stops, shutting down the open looks off the PnR. If you watch Nash and Blake and really all their guards, they aren't fast but they're smart. You see Nash anticipating the Pick and getting up over the picks. It just shows that technique and effort is more important than raw physical talent.

Man you man lust Pringles something fierce

But what I find most interesting did you see Kobe stay on the bench and talk to his teammates during huddles telling them things to look for. Actually he did more coaching than D'AnToni oh and Kobe didn't walk off the court like A BISH because he shot 0-4. He stayed on the bench and provided all the support to his team as possible.

I just happen to know that MDA is a good coach. I'm glad that he got another chance to show what he can do and it was a tough job turning that mess around. You really do need to get a grip with the idea that Kobe is doing more coaching than MDA. Trust me what they're doing as a team is clearly MDA's plays. I'm sure he's glad that Kobe knows enough about the game that he can help his teammates. That's what great players do. Kobe is on another level from Melo. I wish Melo had the same mentality as Kobe.

Man I remember thinking the Knicks had an amazing front office last year when they had Lin, undrafted and Fields, second round pick, were in the rookie sophmore challenge. Parsons is a beast. Amazing talent as a second rounder and Lin as an undrafted free agent.

I just remember how media guys were saying the Rockets wouldn't be any good this year before the season started. Then they made some really good moves and showed everyone how wrong they were. Their GM did a great job putting this team together. People said they overpaid for Lin and Asik, but turns out they were smart moves.

I think the Griz are better than the Nuggets. I thought they might go all the way before they made their trades. I guess they really like Ed Davis.
