lol... bro, what that means is we need to figure out a way to beat the damn Red Sox!!!

Joba's estranged mom got arrested yesterday on a meth charge apparently... gotta be tough on the guy... hope he channels that emotion into his pitching tonight & comes up big... the YS fans will be behind him i'm sure.

Oh I do think we CAN beat them even though they've had the edge for a few years. The biggest difference is the bullpens, though. Ours instills little confidence in me.

Man we really need that. Consecutive series sweeps by the Sox would be so hard to swallow!

Didn't the Mets beat the LA Dodgers like 11/11 times or something in '88 then lose to them in the playoffs?? It sucks **** continually losing to these bitches like this but the bottom line is regular season records against opponents mean very little when you get right down to it. Gimme these Red Sox in the playoffs this year with us at full strength and we'll see WTF happens. They'll probably be there - it's up to us to start playing better baseball RIGHT NOW so we can be there as well. Our whole season starts tonight as far as I'm concerned. Go out there and beat the balls off these *******s tonight then just go on the tear of all tears...

Wow, I don't think your example from twenty-one years ago justifies your conclusion. I'd bet that there's pretty large (though imperfect) statistical correlation between regular season and playoff match-ups.

we owned the Indians in regular season play a couple years ago & lost to them in the playoffs, it's not that unreasonable... but still, u gotta make a stand at some point & show the other team that u have a pulse at least! losing 11 straight in 1 season is pretty ridiculous... all those account for losses & negatively effect your place in the standings obviously too... we can't let Boston continue to beat down on us this season no matter if we're playing well vs. other teams or not.

hey, we swept them 5 games in boston (boston massacre part 2) in 2004 during the regular season. didn't mean anything games 4-7 in the playoffs tho.

our primary objective is to get to the playoffs. once your there, anything can happen.

Yeah, I'd bet the correlation between winning percentages in the playoffs and regular season is around .80 if I had to guess without doing any studying. That basically means it's very strong but every few years you will find one glaring exception.

don't sleep on the rest of the AL bro... it's not a given that the WC is coming outta the East this season... plenty of teams have improved from last year... even KC has a very nice young pitching staff anchored by the best pitcher in baseball right now, Zach Greinke who's been ridiculously untouchable all year... they're playing some good ball, as are the Jays & Mariners, & u know the Twins, Detroit & Chicago will make themselves known at some point this year... we can't overlook these games w/BOS, every 1 of them is huge.

but it's obvious there's a mental block against them. there's nothing that can be done...pointless to debate it. but the yanks have played well against non-redsox teams in the past 3 weeks. that's what i'm focusing on.

Molina & Cervelli are serviceable as backups but guys are gonna have to step up offensively while Jorge's out... also our guys can't afford to play sloppy defense & give up runs, cuz runs are at a premium now w/our depleted lineup... hopefully Tex's bat is busting out now & he can carry some of the load for a little while.

The delay was great. I got to explore a little and spent some time in the hard rock cafe. Man i'm dead tired today. A win would have made the day go by a little better. Hughes had 70+ pitches by the end of the third and Lester was getting big outs. Just wasn't our day

best seats imho are still the bleachers. best view of the game for the price and you can stand back there and hang out.

Hope they can keep the press away from him till after the game. I wouldn't be surprised if Burnett gets the start tonight
