Meleek Thomas SG – Arkansas – HT: 6-4 – WT: 199 – WING: 6-6 3/4 – Fr – A silky smooth scoring guard who doesn't have elite size but has a great feel for the game and a high skill level. Will have to add strength but you can't teach his level of shooting touch.
PLAYER COMP: a more well-rounded Cam Thomas

Henry Veesaar C – North Carolina (Estonia) – HT: 7-0 1/4 – WT: 227 – WING: 7-2 – Jr– A glue-guy center who does all the dirty work, rebounds, defends well and can also step out and hit the outside shot. A high energy player who seems to be everywhere on the court.
PLAYER COMP: Chris Anderson++

Isaiah Evans SF – Duke – 6-6 1/2 – WT: 186 – WING: 6-8 3/4 – So – Evans has great shooting touch and a shot that is nearly impossible to block thanks to his length and size. He's skinny and needs to continue to bulk up and so he could take some time before being NBA ready.
PLAYER COMP: Jett Howard

Two cents. Thomas is a calipiri guy which counts for something in my book

And Evers has solid shooting % which is all the more impressive when you see a huge % were contested. Could be awesome shooter but less versatile.

Knick seem to have gotten 4-5 2nds out of the 2 trades.

This True???? What the hell.....

If true, this is brilliant.

Carr SG – Baylor – HT: 6-5 1/2 – WT: 184 – WING: 7-0 3/4 – So – A long, lanky guard with a picture-perfect jumper and great above the rim ability. Needs to add strength and develop his frame but finally had his breakout season this year and is a first round lock. One of the best pure shooters in the draft class.

PLAYER COMP: Jaylon Tyson+, Devin Vassell

What folks seem to miss is the Knicks and all their front office + scouts knew C Carr was there and they passed on him without a flinch.

From the beginning this front office (talking for years now) has had a plan and stuck to it. I couldn't be more comfortable with Leon/Wes/Brock/Brown deciding on a direction and following their guts.

Not losing sleep over anyone a the back of this 1st round --- maybe 1st pick in 2nd we get a steal.

Hard to assess anything without knowing their off-season plans for the rest of the roster.

If they are bringing back someone in a position of need or filling that spot on the open market, then not drafting for that role means they already have that spot penciled in.

We've already seen what a deeper roster means: it can take 2-3 years for some players to get significant playing time if at least the first 7 rotation spots are actively filled.

therefore, they know they may be passing on the best talent available, because (a) they won't have rotation minutes for them and (b) cap considerations.

I also think continuity may matter in terms of talent in the pipeline and getting minutes for the next guys on the ladder. They got Mo to come back because he knows he will play for a champion.

I trust in this FO

Is this a joke?

Not a joke. It's showing Knicks traded pick to Mavs on NBA.COM

Makes sense. Not at all surprised

They may still draft and keep someone, but without first round pick salaries

Ok so the Knicks did the same thing they did when they drafted Dillon Jones a couple years ago. I think it was 5 second round picks then too. Knicks have literally no second round picks in the 2028-2030 range. I’m guessing this gets them a bunch in that range.

This also moreless confirms they are watching finances to avoid the second apron.

And for what it’s worth, some really good prospects available, especially Isaiah Evans and Meelek Thomas, available at 31, and that pick starts at a really low salary with the second round exception. This is a nice spot to be in.

Seems like they are trading that one as well.

Phoenix Suns Received: 30th Overall (Koa Peat, Arizona
New York Knicks Received: Cash (Lakers), two second-round picks (Mavericks), and three more second-round picks (Suns)

The exact second-rounders are still to be finalized.

Yes - should be 31, 47 & 55 AND Shams said they are expected to trade out of #31.

If they are moving out of #31 they are probably moving out of at least 1 of #47 or #55 as well -- No?

Basically every team has improved except for us
This salary cap is bull****
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Still excited about drafting that Diawara kid

There's no doubt they hid him to suppress his value and re-sign him.

Still may be the most important draft pick of this era
