He changes their shots. Gets in passing lanes. On the last possession Tatum wanted to go right he couldn’t because of Mitch he went left and that’s when he met OG and Mikal.

Mitch we love you!!!

crazy how when guys actually WANT to defend they can, BOS is shooting 35/25 from the field these first two games.

and crazy how much more fun and intense it makes the games. I wish players still cared about the regular season, right now its such a watered down product.

I dog Thibs for this offense and I’ll give him all the credit in the world for this defense. It’s almost like he kept his aces hidden all year as to not reveal his cards.

I’ve got the same impression, which is brave considering he knew the talent was good enough to win in the season with a mediocre strategy. But it feels more like the Knicks are finally, FINALLY gelling at the right time.

That offense, though…

How much of it is Thibs and how much of it is just having Robinson vs. Achiuwa/ Sims/ Hukporti?

Right, and barely any ball handlers and a true pass first PG.

Agree 1,000,000%. She’s totally authentic and a breath of fresh air

And her analysis is good. Here she’s saying everyone is talking about the Celtics and their 3 point shooting when they should be talking about the Knicks D showing up big time in critical moments

Final play of the game, Mitch and OG adjusted off the Horford screen. Instead of pressing the ball they glued behind Horford letting Tatum choose his defender instead of making MitchBeast pick up a full speed Tatum in transition. Tatum chooses Robinson who plays off him with his height and pushes him to the opposite side of the court into OG. OG picks him up and guards him well, but Tatum misses Bridges behind him who, has both the athleticism and length to block Tatum from above him. Game over.

In game switch from one play to the next to guard a play that Tatum abused them on 6 seconds earlier. I’ll credit Thibs for the adjustment. Pinning to Horford was a coached play.

Yeah that was masterful switching defense at the right times on the right players. Perfection quite frankly.

For me, it was pinning the screen that was the defensive adjustment to be lauded. The boys executed and deserve 90 percent of the credit, but pinning OG and Robinson to Horford instead of picking Tatum up above the screen was masterful.

I wish I understood the illegal screen rule better. If you stand in the middle of the court and move a foot it's illegal, but if you grab two guys and back up 3 steps it's legal

Yeah Switching may be too specific to something else. The boys did good whatever it was

I hope everyone is taking a moment to appreciate what is happening right now cause this doesn't happen often. I can safely say we will never see another team who was a huge underdog win the first two games against the defending champs in their own backyard and do so by coming back down 20 in both games! You are witnessing history and a once in a lifetime experience so please cherish and enjoy it!

I cannot put into words how proud I am of this team! Remember going into the playoffs we were all questioning if they were tough enough and mentally strong enough and I think we all had our doubts but that conversation is over. This is a tough gritty never give up resilient team! 5 straight road wins is unheard of! And give Thibs some credit and respect! He's outcoached Mazulla these first two games! Celtics play like there are 3 secs left on the shot clock and they have to chuck threes. 10/40 last night and Celtics have missed 75 threes over the last 2 games, the most in any 2-game span in NBA playoff history!

So happy and beyond proud of Mikal too! These end of the game defensive plays will live on in Knicks infamy! KAT was right when he says we have Captain Clutch in JB and a Captain Clutch on defense too. And Mikal scored 14 points in the 4th!

Josh freaking HART!! 23 points, 3/6 from three and hit a huge floater with like 3 minutes left to cut the lead down to 4 and then Captain Clutch went to work. OG didn't shoot it well but played just insane defense, had 4 steals, and had one of the craziest facials I've ever seen and shame on that POS zebra for calling it an offensive foul! Thankfully we ended up winning but that call just killed our momentum at that point. HATE NBA ZEBRAS!!! Only 3 FT attempts for KAT is such BS! He gets hit and mauled every damn time! Hope Thibs is sending these to that dummy Silver.

And last but not least, so happy and proud of Mitch! I mean that was the worst FT miss I've ever seen LMAO but at least it was an And1! But Mitch was great and has been great in this series. Mazulla fears him and that's why he goes to the Hack-a-Mitch to get him out of the game but Thibs completely outsmarted him with that last night. But man Mitch was a team high +19 and amazing how he moved his feet and stayed with Taum there at the end forcing him into a bad spot!

I warn you that series is not over. It's fine to be happy and hopefully but we are not there yet. These Celtics will be hard to kill. They were down 0-3 to the cHeat and won 3 straight to force a Game 7. And we suck at the Garden too. Have to find a way to get one. I'll feel good if we are 3-1 going back to Boston with 3 chances to close it out.

I disagree and we agree on plenty so it shouldn't hurt your feelings that badly. I have been more pro-Thibs than many around this forum for years and have the ability to use nuance and give him credit where it's due to discredit where it's due. I know, that's a tough concept for many.
