For Dunn, the lack of shooting is obviously the reason he’s not going to be a lottery pick. Because in terms of defensive skillset and body, he’s in that Anunoby/ Shawn Marion level that few have the upside to reach. So the question becomes; what’s better in the later first round, a player who does many things well but non great? Or someone who does one thing at an elite level but struggles elsewhere ? Dunn is a good bet because I hear he’s fairly new to basketball, and Virginia is an old school offensive system that plays slow and doesn’t exactly develop guys offensively. I think Dunn in an nba development system could really get better fast.

Man Portland got #7, #14 and lots and lots of players on their roster that need playing time. Something has to give over there.

Considered this with the idea that they would look to package multiple assets for a proven contributor all together.

Maybe, but I would counter that probably most teams have no desire or motive to move down in a draft, barring a big overpay.

Would depend on if they feel for one they could get a similar prospect at 24 than 14 while also adding #25. Mostly believe they would be looking to package for a proven player anyway and having the #24 & #25 helps them more with that attempt?

I guess this could be interpreted a number of ways but my initial reaction was they are looking to package picks for vet that fits with roster and can help now.

I have been wondering could we package Mitch and maybe a pick or 2 for a vet or to move up for a specific player we like in the draft.

This draft is all over the place. I'm not a big Silva guy because I think he's soft, but a guy like that could go just outside the lottery or drop to the late first round. The fact that the second round will take place on the day after also mucks things up. Will a staff have the same energy for a player on day 2 that they had on day 1 now that they had time to think? The Knicks have tried to trade up in past drafts, but just haven't been successful. I don't think 24 and 25 is enough to get 14. The Knicks were in a similar situation a few years ago when they tried to trade up for Duarte.
Duarte went 13 and the Knicks had picks 19 and 21.

Silvia’s frame at an advanced draft age (24) does appear a bit thun and his game based on limited clips I’ve seen does seem to be very finesse with not so much explosiveness.
