am I wrong to say I like that trade a lot for the Nets.

Is Simmons vaccinated or does his nutcase not go that far?

Nets did great. Simmons adds defense and play making. Curry replaces the loss of Harris. Drummond is a solid back up. Plus they get two long term assets back that were lost when they traded for Harden.
All for a guy that was not going to be there or wanted to be there.

Both teams did well for themselves...Curry and and Drummond were the only rotation players the Sixers loss in the trade. Keeping Thybulle and Maxey out of the trade was smart on the Sixers part.

I'm in this boat. For reasons i can't fully explain i have always liked Harden (and EMbid) and i think this puts them very much in championship discussion.

Not so sure about Nets/Nuts. Unless Simmons comes in with a chip on his shoulder and ready to roll i can see this as gasoline on the fire. He'll want the ball in his hands, as will Kyrie and KD

I like Simmons paired with KD quite a lot- think it’s a trade that will be better for the Nets for a few years than keeping Harden (who will be on a decline and way overpaid). Plus next season the should have 2 great shooters in Harris and Curry, plus KD and maybe Kyrie- perfect for Simmons. What blows for the Nets is all the draft picks they gave up in the original Harden trade, plus that Jarret Allen, who should have been an all star this year.

I hate the nets, but Harden is such a grade A a**hole- he quit on two straight teams and got his way both times. Nets vs Sixers playoff series, I would love to see though!

Didn’t Woj punish teams that didn’t share intel with him by messing up their deals they were negotiating via his reporting? Probably built up quite bit of resentment over the years with that extortion racket- no wonder teams are turning to Shams

I respect your opinion. For some reason i have a softer spot for Harden than for Simmons (who has bugged me since college; and certainly with his ultra cold reception of Markelle Fultz). i think a big issue will be which Simmons shows up

I do think Harden and Embid will be a force.

Feel bad for Enes. Every new team he joins, embraces 100% as his new family.

Good luck in Houston!

... And nevermind.

No team wanted Evan atrocious defense Fournier 🤮🤢🤮

Was he mentioned specifically? You have some link or way to back that? Or are you just using a biased view to make it so? Guess those that wanted Randle gone can also link him to the same narrative?

Woj was wrong about Harden yesterday. Said nothing was expected. Winehorst contradicted him and said he was hearing the deal would get done. Winehorst was right.

i prefer no deal to a bad deal.

what i find interesting is that with the exception of sixers/nets there was no "real" trade from a truly contending team. ANd a lot of teams involved buyer's remorse from recent acquisitions

Well, except for Dallas de-anchoring KP

Whatever the plan is, we need to stop with the Randle attacks, and just hope our players play better the rest of the season- even if you don't want to keep them, it will hopefully rebuild their trade value (in addition to some of them becoming expirings).

OK, I am over the no trades thing. I held out hope that the Knicks would get a Hali type trade but teams only want to trade with us when its lopsided in their favor. We will find out very soon if Thibs was trying to showcase the vets or if he really just like them. If McBride does not get any non garbage time today we will have our answer. Cam should get minutes with RJ hurt.

Ha. I put that in the buyer's remorse bucket. Washington regretted Spencer and Bertans. Dallas regrets Unicorn

What? This was the biggest trade deadline in NBA history. Celtics, Mavericks, Toronto all feel like they have a shot.

I think it is good for KP, he can finally be Nr 1 option and play like in NY, in Dallas it was all about Luka.

No it’s the exact opposite. KP was in the best spot he was ever in playing with a pg like Luka. Luka was able to set him up with lob dunks, wide open perimeter shots and pick and rolls

And now Porzingis is with nobody in DC

This. The only possible trade available was dumping EF and Burks and surprise no one wanted them

In that case I’d rather do nothing than have us do an Isiah and trade bad contracts for even worse contracts and players
