![]() KD and KP are not in the same conversation. KD has rings, is regular season and finals MVP with a solid top quintile tier HOF career and is doing that tough thing after a year off return.
He has had a very productive and durable career until he tore his heal. KP not even begun to be in the same breath as KD. I’m not saying anyone has to like him, but respect the player for his ability on the court. |

![]() Every mention of KP's demise warms my heart. This thread will never get old.
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

![]() There is no way the Mavs are going to be able to dump Doucheingis on any nba team. 3 years 100 million guaranteed left on a contract for a guy who might play 40-45 games a year for you if you’re lucky and is now a liability on defense

![]() just a disappointment from top to bottom. There's some alternate reality where KP is teamed with Randle/RJ and crew, he's healthy, woke and unicorning his way to the finals. This sure as phuck aint it

![]() Glad he is not our problem anymore. Yep, one can always force their way to another team, but the problem is that you cannot get away from yourself.

![]() he grabbed 11 rebounds so I guess he game up big in the smallest way possible. Maybe he was hurt?
He definitely has talent. He looked like a franchise player for us for like a 10 game stretch. Some players are made of glass- he might be one of them. Glad he is not our problem. As good as Rick Carlisle has been, I think it is time for them to move on, get a fresh voice in there. Maybe Janis? But seriously - they have too much invested in him, he has the talent, he just needs to beef up a bit and find a role. That article is pointing out that he shot just 13 times one game, and the rest under. Is that his fault? Was he hurt? Was he not in the right place in the offense? Or is the offense not exploiting his strengths? |

At the moment, he can't do that either. The difference between what he provides on the floor and the amount of his contract is so big that I don't see how the Mavs can trade him. The contract is until 2024 (of course he takes the option for the 2023-24 season) and I think he’s in Dallas at least until the trade deadline of 2023, and probably until the summer, when they can try to trade him along with a bunch of picks for some meaningful player. |

This Porzingis and the one in the Knicks before the injury are two different players. He was a very mobile player who played defense, he could put the ball on the ground, and his shooting was just the icing on the cake. The problem is that even then he looked like only one wrong step separated him from a long absence due to injury. I’m talking about the visual impression of course. And that's what happened. Porzingis, who has returned, is no longer so mobile, it is obviously a brake in the head that is very difficult to ignore, and therefore he can no longer put the ball on the ground and is not good defensively. When you add that he was never particularly strong, in fact, now all he has left is a shooting. Dallas gambled and hoped he could be as close as possible to that player before the injury, but Kristaps is a mediocre spot up shooter on a max contract today. |
