No I think Amare was a terrible signing but as a fan I have no choice but to root for the best. Amare and his $20mil off the bench and Melo 1 on 5 with James White and co isn't the best

Where I thought the Knicks missed Melo the most tonight was at the foul line. There were some questionable-to-flat-out-ridiculous calls on the Knicks down the stretch (DURANT/KMART, for instance) that would have been negated to some degree by how Melo has been getting to the line of late.

But, Woodson remained his predictable self tonight. Terrible starting lineup, fool's gold iso-ball.

I suppose for JR this was a 'good' night. His selfish chucking and total focus on finding his own shot, often times dribbling up court and not bothering to pass the ball even once to his teammates before launching a jumper, paid off most of the night b/c several shots went down. But the last 7.9 seconds went exactly as I knew it would. I called it to a friend I was watching the game with, down to the letter.

I'm disappointed b/c OKC didn't play well and were bailed out by the refs (IMO) and the Knicks could have taken this game had they played smarter and more unselfishly.

Oh well. It's on to the Jazz on Sat.

I thought it was going to be a blow out, but we actually almost beat them without Melo- very encouraging. We seem to have tightened up the defense the past few games- just a shame we lost our offense in the 4th Q just like we did against Miami.

Still, it's really frustrating to lose such a close game...

Melo was shooting acareer high from 3 this year before the knee problems. Hopefully he can start hitting them again and help the spacing between him, amare and tyson

That's what MDA wanted Melo to do and you see where that got him. It all about that Isooooooooo!

SHump does hurt the team. Yes, he is coming off of surgery so he gets a little leeway but he has not been great defensively or offensively. He is falling asleep and letting guys back door and just not playing smart. His confidence is not there and he should be getting spot duty until he is healthy and is able to contribute.

It was a close game, i think Kidd should've had the last shot with a nice little spot up J, rather that than JR SWAG unbelievable

Kidd? Dude's been a horror show on offense for about 3 months now. What we should have done is run an actual play and not let JR iso for 8 seconds and heave up a terrible shot.

It still amazes me that everyone's so mad at Woodson about that last play. They had what they wanted. JR needed to take it in. There are a lot of good things to take from that game. If Melo is the type of guy that can lead how I think he can, he'll see this game and the last couple without him and be the catalyst for ball movement and work hard on D.

Defense is what almost won that game for us last night. Not having Melo is what lost it.

Well for me it was that it was that Woodson had just drawn a play to get JR a great look before had so why then settle for an ISO? Also, if he was just gonna go with an ISO, why call a timeout instead of letting JR bring it up and not giving the defense a chance to settle?
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Because if you look at the play unfold it wasn't a mistake that JR had the entire half of the court open. If he just brought it up it would've been chaos. The play had the other 4 on the court draw their defenders into specific spots so JR could create a shot at the rim or drive an kick. That he didn't drive ruined a good play. I don't like that STAT only had one shot in the 4th (besides the ones he got fouled on). This was the first game in a while that I actually thought was well coached by Woodson.

You know what you make a good point. I guess the real mistake was trusting JR to make the right play there. I dont know about Woodys coaching (not a fan of the 4 guard lineup) but you got on the point about the last play.

Kidd actually seems to have maybe redisocvered his 3pt shot since the Miami game- there is hope! Unfortunately I think he was just tired from playing so minutes in the Detroit game (hence his 0-2 shooting vs the Thunder)

Not really. He went 3-5 against Cleveland, 2-7 against Detroit, and 0-1 yesterday.

If you break that up into two game segments then he's 7-10 in the first two games and 2-8 in his last two games.
