We are losing because the Heat are outplaying us. Not because of the refs

Exactly!!!! I kept saying, this BS won't work against elite teams come playoff time. This blows, I'm going to the movies!

I'm hoping that Woody can come up with something better than this. I too have been warning for a month that we can beat playoff teams without Ball & Player movement, PnR and a spread floor. That ISO stuff works in the regular season and is fools gold. It's been a lurking problem and it's finally reared it's ugly head.

I'm hoping they can come out in the 2nd half and play well to get their confidence back for game 2.

Yeah well it's not all on the refs, the heats defense is fustrating the sht out of us..Melo can intiatiate the offense cause there fronting him.

There rotating on the pick and roll, instead of us passinging to the wing man for a easy layup, TYson, amare and melo have all had charging fouls

jr smith, eratic, novak there closing out and he gets no screens..tyson his playing lazy and trying to force is will.

More importantly..labron james is selling those cheap fouls to the ref like an acadamy award winner

I agree. Poor ball movement and spacing and lack of focus on both ends of the court. I wish they would set some screens for Melo now and then. Its amazing how few screens are set for him in a game, even when he can't get a good look.

Melo isnt playing good. I mean we cant blame everyone except him

Other teams find ways to beat them despite this type of refereeing. As much as it sucks we all knew this would happen. This isn't new or unexpected. We made no adjustments, no attempts to get the supporting players involved its either Melo bricking or JR turning the ball over. This offense cannot work against a defense like the Heat.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Momentum is key..refs can easily swing momentum to make things worse. That's obvious in this game.

Any news on Bibby. I was listening to the game on the radio and they said he went out with a limp.

You are going to use game 1 of the playoffs to be your I told you so game?

You really think this game plan gonna work in game 2? Fine, I'll wait till then.

Knicks coming out victorious will depend on:
1. Chemistry- we had better get it together NOW. They will look to stop Carmelo and get him frustrated. I don't see us pulling this series without chemistry and cohesion on the court. It can't only be the Carmelo Anthony show.
2. Limiting Turnovers- obviously Miami will destroy us on the break if we fail to take care of the basketball.
3. Intensity- we have to maintain and further amplify the intensity that lead to our 18-6 record over the previous 24 games. Defense!!!!
4. Half Court- it would be in our best interest to keep the game to a slow tempo and and not allow Miami to play to their strength.
5. Amare- I hope he can bring it. If not, we have no chance. With all the attention on Lebron and Wade, Bosh will get his 18-20 off mid range shots and lefty layups.
6. Wade- he is better than our whole team put together, just like Paul Pierce. Meaning; in the 4th quarter he will take over the game and will his team to victory by burying his jump shots, putting spin moves on us, getting to the basket, backboard banks shots. Make Wade pass the ball. We are screwed if we allow him to take over in the 4th quarter. Keep Shumpert on him like a "cheap suit" and consider double teaming him.

Last year, I predicted we would get swept by Boston. I think we will get swept or win one close game at best against Miami. I really hope I am wrong. As mentioned in another post, we have to win one of the first two games. The feeling of beating Miami and advancing would be similar to the 90's.

THANK YOU!!! Thats what people aren't getting. MOMENTUM and CONFIDENCE are keys to winning. REFS KILL MOMENTUM. WE aren't hitting outside shots but getting to the line can increase CONFIDENCE. Refs are keeping all our guys out the game.

I think the Knicks had one day to prepare for the Heat. I am sure the Knicks will make a series out of this. It isn't about 1 quarter. You have to be the first to four wins.

I agree he has played poorly. This is something that's bothered me since Melo got here. Elite players regularly have screens set for them but Melo rarely does. I'm guessing Melo believes that he doesn't need them.

It's not so much about I told U so as a truthful observation. We need to play good team ball and if the ball isn't moving and players aren't moving it makes it easier for the defense. Where are the actual set plays with motion and passing so that the Heat have to work harder to cover the entire floor? Where is the spacing? ISO Melo is just as bad as depending only on 3's. You've got to play team ball and mix it up.

Even if the game had been called fairly, we'd still be losing, but I could take that because it would be the other team that was beating us- the way the ref's are calling this has made this game unwatchable- and that's no exaggeration.

This Carmelo-Amare thing isn't working. Like really.

It's a damn shame Amare is untradeable.
