We already know Melo and Amare have given up playing defense.

And teams know that if they even hint at running a PnR, the Knicks will switch and they'll have a C guarded by Shump, Fields or TD.

WTF

As much as I don;t want to give all the blame to D'Antoni, because he doesn't have it all, and as much as I want them to win now, and oh boy do I want that, I really believe this team needs a new coaching staff. Switching, for example, has been here since MDA arrived. Woodson came in with the same idea. It won't change under this staff. And thats just one of the many issues that can be attributed to coaching.

I literally can't believe that Woodson would implement a dumb-ass switching defense. Gotta be MDA. And it absolutely sucks.

Unfortunately Woodson used the same strategy in Atlanta and when talking about what he would bring to the team in an article before the season started, he mentioned the switching would stick. I know it sounds retarded, but switching may be a common logic between them. The fact that it remains after it evidently shows it doesn't work, is really scary.

They interviewed Weber at the half and pretty much admitted that switching was apart of the game plan. This swithing defense is an elementary school basketball philosphy. We made Lopea look like Wilt in the paint toady. And easy was it for Nash to shoot over a retreating Chandler or skate around Amare who got too close? Assinine game plan

whats scary is that we have had a easy schedule. I mean we had teams whose best players were out and didn't take advantage. I mean wait until we start playing the really good teams that is gonna be fun lol

Pretty disappointing. This streaming sh@t is hardly worth it if their going to play like this. I lost the stream three times including twice in the fourth quarter. The postgame analysis about Nash coming is annoying. I am fine with Nash coming but I am so done with the coach and all the efforts to make his 'system' work.

Because Dolan probably has some knife at their throats if they're out of line.

Thats why Marv Albert left.

End of the day..all these loses even with switching we win if our two Stars Show up every night. Amare and Melo need to get their acts together quick. Stars don't have consistent bad shooting nights like this. They are not missing contested shots either.

You hold the Suns to 90 pts and still lose. You can't really ask more from your defense.

Glad to see everyone coming around to the idea that the coaching a major part of the problem and most likely the root of the problem. Now a few more losses like these and even Dolan will get onboard

I think people forget that last year we were a very good offensive team so the system does work when the right players which we had are in it. The only weakness we had was defense and no center. I thought we had corrected that but it seems like we are worse on defense and our offense which was once very good is horrible

Melo 5-22
Stat 7-22

With a team as shallow as this, you need both your top players producing.

I agree that there is a bad fit now. What can I say? Melo never won 60 games, D'Antoni has, twice.

I would argue Melo never played with a PG like Nash. I like MDA but he is not the coach to get us deep in the playoffs every year

i just find it funny. let's rewind the clock back to last year post-trade. knicks are playing well (sans fields) melo and amear are playing well together and the knicks are scoring plenty of points. what's missing between now and then? chauncey billups. is not having billups the reason we're losing right now? no, but it's the fact that we don't have a facilitator that's killing us.

it really isn't that complicated.
