I haven't heard about anyone noteworthy... Suggestions, fellas?

A couple of FAs that are still available that I would take a flyer on are...

Charlie Bell and Acie Law. Not sure about Carlos Arroyo.

I would also look at what Houston is doing with Jeremy Lin. Rockets have Kyle Lowry, Goran Dragic and Jonny Flynn at the PG spot.

When Amare plays with Chandler he has trouble getting to the rim, due to spacing. This is why he is taking more jumpshots now.

That's a good point. Jorts with Amare when Melo is on the bench is a good match.

I actually thought TD was awful at actually running the team. He took too many shots and didn't really setup many plays. We know he can score and defend etc. but his main job is to run the offense and he stunk at it IMO. We've got some serious finishers on this team and they're being wasted due to a lack of good ball distribution and penetration from the PG spot. Almost no PnR or drive and kick offense which should be our strength.

Jorts played well in preseason and got less minutes in favor of Jeffries. Good move, Mike.

With Jeffries out, Jorts will benefit big time. Balkman too.

The Douglas stat line misses exactly what nixluva said.

Once the Celtics turned up the defensive pressure, Douglas fell apart like tissue paper on both ends. He CANNOT dicate pace or find an opening in traffic and everyone knows it.

Stats don't tell the whole picture...never do. Look at Chandler's stat line and the rebounding numbers jump out. But he had 6 blocks and altered many others.

TD had a good first half. Till he got the 3 fouls he was playing a nice game. Before KG put him 4 rows into the seats he was the best player on the floor ('cepting maybe Rondo).Couple of nice feeds inside got Chandler to the foul line and Amar'e to the hole. He came on in the second and killed one of those long outlets to Marquis Daniels that Boston was trying to run. It was a great steal executed by boxing his man out for position.

Boston screens like everyone in the NBA wishes they could.

I was not thrilled with his shot selection in the 3rd. Melo carried the game in the 4th and he played good D. I'm sure the fouls and the refs took him out of his game a bit but he finished well enough to see progress. Obviously he's not a healthy Baron Davis...but then who is?

We have to let Tony play his game...As we saw in the past, when Tony thinks too much and tries to do things he isn't good at, it completely takes him out of what he is good at...We need hi offensively as an outside threat...He was bad running the team, setting up players, but if we are honest, he isn't a point guard...

^That is why we need to sign another PG and let Bibby and the new guy run the offense while TD worries about scoring.

Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it was to watch
the Knickerbockers play
Crashing on the boards
on a pair of gimpy knees
then running down the floor
and jacking up those threes
Jingle bells jingle bells
jingle all the way..

Again TD is a 'work in progress' I expect him to look much better. In the first half until KG put him 4-5 rows into the seats on what should have been a flagrant, he was playing well with several nice passes that someone turned over or missed there shot or in Chandlers case turned into foul shots. His shot was short immediately after and he didn't look good again until coming off the bench to end the half. Nobody looked good coming out of half time for the Knicks and Stat just disappears on defense. Terrible 3rd until TD comes back in after Shumpert goes down. After which they start coming back. TD then Melo hit back2back 3's to tie it up.

I liked what I saw in the first the Knicks were dominating and had me thinking blowout for a minute. When the C's start playing physical the refs get ticky-tack on the Knicks.

I completely agree.
It was also the reason the Bass was doing so well against Amare.
Brass got to play extremely physical defense without any calls and when Amare tried to defend in the same manner he got called for the foul. D'antoni ended up switching Amare to a different player because the refs were not going to call that matchup fairly. At least that's what I saw.

I thought Douglas played fine offensively. They were funneling the offense through Melo anyway. What Douglas sucked at was guarding Rondo. And the Knicks as a hole kept getting sucked in on transition. They'd let Douglas or Shumpert penetrate into traffic and Rondo would leak out every time. it was always Amare or Melo left on Rondo and they'd just let him go because they were both in some foul trouble.

if TD or Shump hit a few more of those very make-able shots near the rim, game turns out way differently. Both those guys gotta step it up
