Any Crowley taught an anti-profiling course and gave 'mouth to mouth?-[read it somewhere, may need a fact check]to a black man. Racism is not always overt and can be very 'nuanced'. Maybe one day you will come to understand this.

What has he done that suggests that he's racist? Because he called a cop that abused his power a racist; nice convoluted world you live in. Surely realize the difference between having "black friends" and actually being married to someone of a different race. If you know anything about Gates he is not some black militant who hates white people he's actually quite the opposite a man who's tried to promote post-racial ideas.

I'm not familiar with the Cambridge neighborhood other then from what News Reports have said the neighborhood is a upper middle class neighborhood. So I'm going to assume for a moment that this neighborhood is populated mostly by white people.

As someone that grew up in almost all white neighborhoods literally we were the only black family in the entire neighborhood and the only other minority was my friend who was half-Chinese/White. I can tell you that the very few burglaries that happened were done by white kids who lived in the neighborhood. My friend's mother woke one morning to find that her car had been stolen but guess what it turned out that my friend's brother (who was suppose to be away at college had taken his mother's car the night before.



What does what you have to say have to do with anything? Black boogey man? Why are you so sensitive? Just making a point that his house is not as safe as it was before this incident. Whether he is more at risk to be robbed by a white guy, mexican, black, asian, woman, man, gay, straight is irrelevant.

One of the scumbag cops in the Abner Louima debacle was married to a black woman. Does that mean hes not a racist?

You gotta be kidding. You require one standard to say a black person might be racist and another for anyone else. Who said anything about frinds? I'm sure he has those too. I'm talking about the class, and the mouth to mouth. My world is very complicated but yours is just fantasy.

He is racist by the same criteria Crowley is racist and not racist by the same criteria Crowley isn't. You're a hypocrite, rushing headlong screaming racism without evidence and then saying that you can't prove racism, so it's ok to label Crowley racist. Then when someone does the same to Gates, we need proof and evidence.

Okay Gates is racist but who carries a gun and badge? Look if Crowley were mechanic or A barrista at Starbucks (as long as he wasn't spitting in my coffee) I could care less what his opinion is on various ethnic groups. But if you are going to take on the responsibility of becoming a cop and abuse your power he should expect to be scruntinized.

For the record I never said that Crowley was a racist I did however say that Gates' race most likely played a role in how Crowley handled the situation. I've said from the beginning that it's about the perception that far too many in law enforcement have of minorities. They see someone with darker skin and they immediately go into robocop mode instead of using some common sense.

Don't be obtuse surely you know a little something about what America was like in the 1950s for most African Americans.

As to whatever it is you cited because you should really provide links if your going to post from outside sources so people can at least know what the hell your talking about.

To add in my 2 cents.

At that time when we were teetering between segregation or not. One area where Blacks failed was that through the entertainment world of sports, music, movies. Blacks should have held on to there leagues and corporations and made whites to have to come to us rather then migrating to the white leagues and corporations. This way we would have had black owned businesses in top industries such as sports and music. Which would have strengthen the black community drastically. Instead we migrated into the white owned businesses which in turn shut down all the black owned businesses.

I don't really get the pertinence of your skit here? Who exactly are you accusing of being a slavemaster and who is a slave? Are you arguing that Gates or blacks in general are slaves and that the police are slavemasters or own black people?
