How does Curry compare to Devin Harris of the Nets?

There really is no comparison, they are completely different players.

Coming out of college, Harris was much quicker and more of a raw basketball player, while Curry is a great shooter and is a bit more of a rounded player.

A better comparison would be Bibby with more range.

they're both perimeter shooters & both shot a similar % from the field & from 3 pt. range last season, Curry had the advantage of a college 3 pt. line to boot... we'll see if he'll ever be as good as Bibby now much less Bibby in his prime... i think he's got the potential but i would put Mike Bibby as his absolute peak upside personally.

when you put it that way, ira, you really gotta love our pick. this is not a reddick scenario where JJ went into the tourney and stunk it up. curry is like reddick but better and with a winning-brain.

?? How do you figure that. Reddick went to the Final Four and was named all-american. And won the National Player of the Year award. Curry doesn't have anything close to Redick's accomplishments in his career.

I was never once impressed with what Reddick was doing that year. Curry, I was impressed with and you're completely off about him not having anything close to his accomplishments. Look at the guys that Reddick played with, tell me what Curry would have done with that same team.

It doesn't matter if you were impressed with him. Redick won National Player of the Year. Where is that on Curry's resume. If you want to prep up Curry to make him look good then let him stand on his own merit without trying to belittle another's accomplishment. Just saying I'm completely off means what? State his accomplishments.

Pharezone, Curry is a glorified Salim Stoudamire. We both know that.

But you have to understand something: The papers have been talking about the Knicks picking Curry, so guys around here are going to build him up in their minds to be something that he is not, comparing him to Nash and Stockton, all kinds of absurd overstatements of what his abilities and accomplishments are. Reality is not what this is about.

The fact is that Reddick and Curry basically have one skill that makes them NBA players: Shooting. Reddick was one of the better pure shooters of the game in the past 10 years. Curry was a pretty good scorer playing against middle-range comp most of the time with his team putting the ball in his hand to shoot 80% of the time. Curry is #1 in the NCAA for usage rate I(Meaning the give him the ball on every play) and #2 in field goals attempted per 40 minutes. This means his stats are inflated. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Stephen-Curry-1170/ Reddick is the right size or perhaps an inch short to play his game in the NBA, Curry is 3 inches short for his game.

Guys are going to be sorely disappointed when they see that Curry is not even better than Nate Robinson. If the Knicks want a PG they should pick a real one, not a guy who is a natural shooting guard that they are trying to mold into a different player. That makes for disappointment. Curry averaged less than 3 assists for his first 2 season, but his coach featured him at PG this year to try to improve his NBA stock so he went up to 5.9 assists. The fact is his instinct is to shoot first.

Of course the most glaring need on the team is a big man, but the Knicks seem to not be interested in defense whatsoever now that they are going with D'Antoni's "system", because Curry ain't bringing defense, period. They should do the right thing, get a big man, and try to land a decent PG through free agency, there are some proven guys on the market including Felton and Sessions, as well as Blake, who is an actual PG and we already know he can shoot and distribute.

But in true KNicks fashion, I think they will pick for reasons other than landing the best player available. Oh well!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Salim is 2 inches shorter than Curry has worse handles and was not a passer at all in college. Keep on hating though. You probably want the Knicks to draft Mullens or something lol.

Curry will be the 4th overall pick mark it down. Curry is the best talent asides from Griffin. I wouldn't hesitate to say he might be the second overall pick. Once the teams start bringing in the players they will quickly realize that Curry is the most NBA ready player.

Dude, you are the guy who is talking up Curry based on what is being reported in the newspapers. You're the guy who quotes Hahn like he is John the Baptist for this regime. Stay on point and if you don't have one then state that. To try and take shots at other posters when you don't have one makes you look small. Thought you were better than that. Maybe you're not.

Dude what are you talking about, where do I quote Hahn - ever? I post news articles on this site (good or bad) to give people something to talk about, other than the same ol drivel that you like to spew about Walsh and what he told some reporter.

I've seen Curry play atleast 10 times as well as all the other players in this draft. I've never once quoted Hahn or anyone else in the papers to even promote any of MY own ideas. Get your facts straight.

You quoted Hahn about Gallinari's injuries before the beginning of the season. That's just one example. Are you serious about where do I quote Hahn stuff? Get off your soapbox. You have your views and other people have their own. Instead of making crap up about what a player is or isn't just state facts. What someone will do because of a gut feeling you have means squat. I suggest you get your facts straight.

When it comes to judging college basketball players (as you were saying I got my opinion of Curry FROM HAHN) I have never and will never need a journalist, analyst or someone else to tell me what they see in a player, because its most likely I've seen the guy more than them. Period.

LOL, of course I'm going to quote Hahn if he is giving news about someones injury. How the hell am I supposed to know, I'm not the one with the sources who are doctors.

So I suggest to you to get off YOUR soapbox.

So it is ok for you to quote Hahn but others can't quote journalists you don't like. Gotcha. Look I don't want to get into a pissing contest with you. As I stated. You have your opinions and I have mine. Leave it at that.

Quote whoever the hell you want lol. Where did I say you shouldn't quote someone? I don't even know what Hahn's blog address is, I get the articles when they pop up on RealGM. I didn't even know we were talking about what journalists we liked or didn't like, I thought it was the fact that you think I pull my opinions from Hahn and other journalists.

Whatever.

Dude you posting in a thread of why the Knicks are looking at Curry. You are giving your opinion based on those statements. Who take their opinions from articles. My opinions on players, coachs and general managers are my own. If I believe articles then I would believe D'Antoni is a greatest coach, Walsh is a tremendous GM, Gallinari is the 2nd coming of Dirk and Curry is the future Nash. Which everyone on here clearly knows I don't.

But like you said whatever.
