I was at the game last night and it was really frustrating. I was surrounded by annoying Laker fans. Cheers for Kobe that drown out cheers for the Knicks is like twisting a knife that's already deep in your stomach. As upset as I was though, I realized that all of these fans were there because season ticket holders can easily sell their tix for a profit these days. And who can blame them after all the money that's been poured in for a bad product over the last 5-6 years.

And Dolan doesn't care who's in the stands. As long as there are bodies in the seats all he see's is $$$. But this is a process.

As for Kobe, the guy is no MJ....nor is he a Lebron. He scores as well as anyone who's ever played the game, but he can't carry a team on his back like MJ and LJ. Jordan's accomplishments are clear. But look at what Lebron already has on his resume. A Finals appearence with a terrible supporting cast around him and he almost single handedly beat the C's last year. He's a complete player. Kobe is not and never will be. He can definitely take advantage of bad D though.....

lee played a horrible game and still managed 22 and 11 on 8-16. that's what a real player does.

A real player would have had an impact on the game.

That's as soft and meaningless a 22 and 11 as you'll ever see.
Isles again we agree, Lee was extremely LAME tonight he was very Charles Smith like.

you two can't be serious.. but then again.. nevermind...

What do you mean? Yes he got his numbers but he continued to make terrible passes and try to do too much at times and constantly got blocked by Pau. Everyone tears Nate a new one for his bad play why not the same for Lee.

because lee's bad game didn’t include 4-17 shooting, or 6 turnovers, or no work on the boards. though he was struggling, he produced 22 points on 8-16 form the floor and 6-7 from the line, 12 boards, an assist and a steal and 2 turnovers. he's gotten to the point where a bad game still includes a good stat line. he consistently contributes, even when struggling. to me that's impressive. when chandler, nate and al have struggled, their game contributions end up being absolutely horrific.

Lee produced the quietest 22 points and 11 rebounds of the night. He heated up in the final minutes of the game when Pau was on the bench high fiving it up. Watch that game again if you disagree. He puts up A Rod type of stats sometimes. You know the meaningless homerun in the bottom of the ninth with a 8 point lead or deficit.

What a game, what a game. It was good to see Kobe dismantle this crap franchise that used to be so proud.

Lee will rarely, if ever, shoot 4-17 because he rarely shoots from outside the paint. And he won't turn the ball over much because he doesn't dribble much. So comparing him to other players, who have drastically different games, with those statistics is foolhardy.

On a team with little depth, that allows him to play 40 minutes a night in a run and gun system, he's going to score some points. Mostly on easy baskets created by his teammates. Add to that his rebounding prowess, which is enhanced again by the style of play and the increased possessions by both teams, and he'll put up close to a double double every night. That's a testament to him but there's no disputing the fact that his numbers are soft. Last night was the classic example. Looking at the stat sheet, one might think that he had a solid game but watching the game you saw how little impact he had.

David Lee is a nice player and would be a very valuable complementary player on a winning team, assuming he learns how to play defense, but he's not even close to being an impact player. He can't carry a team, or even be the go to guy when they need a score, because he has no offensive game.

I'd love to keep Lee here but he's a luxury on a bad, rebuilding team. There's no way I risk missing out on a real impact player just to keep him here. It's a shame that it might come to that but with Curry and Jeffries being untradeable, one because he's an irresponsible manchild and the other because of his insane contract with an escalator clause, the Knicks have no choice.

This team has no impact players and Mike has no need in any.
I cannot see Lee traded until Mike/Walsh are in NYC. For other coach and other system he may be a luxury but for Mike’s system he is necessity.
So you can add Lee (as well as Duhon) to you hated for next 3 years Knicks list.
Moreover you will see more players like Lee joining the show.
