Something New

Forget Kobe and Dwayne. NYK #4 jersey sales will soar when the Knicks make the Playoffs

Nate for League MVP and Slam Dunk Title in the same season.

Boomer & Craig were already commenting on how you can't even get on a waiting list for N8 jerseys at MSG... anybody starting a KrytpoN8 pirated jersey factory yet?

N8 for Sixth Man, maybe... Unless of course Gallo runs off with that. Then you'd have a run on rooster head bands.

jrodmc - Gallinari as sixth man? With all due respect, Gallo's 6 point per game average is cute an' all but... what season have you been watching?

Sixth man?

...c'mon... I'll grant you the potential popularity of Gallinari will be off the charts if he can average HALF of what Nate has averaged over the past month, which would be more than DOUBLE his current statistical output in points per game... but c'mon...

(And I like Gallinari a lot)

If Danilo Gallinari posted 29-8 and 4 in ANY single game there would be a movement to rename Seventh Avenue after him.

Tom Heinsohn had a great quote like this about Bill Russell (not that Nate's Bill Russell): "The man won 56 college games in a row, 2 NCAA championships, an Olympic Gold Medal, and 11 NBA championships. And they named a ---cking tunnel after Ted Williams."

The highlight of this season will be Nate's pre-slam dunk video where he's playing the violin. Go find it yourself.

thats boston for you. Not surprising in the least.

Answer Man yesterday @ 11:42 AM

Marv - Since February 10, over a span of 13 games, Nate is averaging 27.3 per game

Alan Hahn today

"Robinson is averaging 27.2 points and 19.1 field-goal attempts in the last 13 games. He is making nearly half his shots (49.1 percent) in that span."

Hahn Haterade

"Though he's had a dynamic season in D'Antoni's system - a career-high 18.1 points per game - Robinson's over-the-top histrionics, incessant chatter with officials and defensive liabilities have been an issue within the organization."

Insert Opinion Here:

1. over-the-top histrionics -

2. incessant chatter with officials -

3. defensive liabilities -

1. over-the-top histrionics - Not a problem in my view. Emotional players need an outlet. I think it bothers oversensitive fans and media members more than it effects Nate's game. I do however think that at times he gets caught up in his personal battles(watch him against Phillies Lou Williams-they got something going on) that he forgets about the team game. That he needs to work on.

2. incessant chatter with officials - Needs to stop. Been playing a lot of years and played with a lot of guys that complain a lot to the refs. At some point in time all of them lose focus on the game and instead become enamored with how the game is beign officiated. Nate is one of them

3. defensive liabilities -Let's not sugarcoat it, this is an issue.

any negative thing posted by ny writers most likely stems from them knowing that d'antoni probably isn't a big fan of nate's.

Curious about one thing... Does anyone know who actually chose Nate in the draft? I know the Suns drafted him, ostensibly for us by way of the KT/Q trade, but would he have been their selection if they were keeping the pick?

And the Knicks record during that span:

5-8

And in the 1 game Nate missed in that span, the Knicks looked well balanced and won easily.

I agree with Isles on this one. At some point the numbers have to equal wins, and they never do with our guys. You will know when you have a star, the team actually starts winning. When they make their team better. Until then they are just a guy putting up good numbers.

It's called sarcasm, mr earl.

It was a follow-up comment to my earlier post commenting on your earlier post about how N8 could jump the Empire State building, cure cancer and win the Finals playing 1 on 5, but if Balkybackinari hit's two threes in a row, it's "move over Jesus Christ, here's the Rooster!".

And I hate Gallinari. And not just because he looks like a mongoloid suffering from autism.

Or something like that.

I think Earl makes a silly argument. I'm willing to bet that there are more people that support nate then there are people that support Gallinari.

I don't know why you would make that bet if you read through this board a few times; and definitely not if you're reading the local NY rag papers.

By the way, how many "I'm sick of Gallinari" threads are there?

5-8 isn't really a bad stretch for a sub .500 team like ours. Also the Knicks looked well balanced and won easily and games Nate has played in before so I don't think mentioning one game where they did without him is a good point. I don't think Nate's a star, but I never got the impression the Knicks were better without him.

You can see by my post count that I read these threads pretty thoroughly. There are a lot of guys who HATE THE GALLINARI PICK AND EVERYTHIGN HE STANDS FOR. They run around the site trying to convince everyone that anyone who doesn't hate Gallinari has annointed him a superstar. In reality very few people think anything of Gallinari other than, he has potential. I read the threads and I pay attention to what is actually being said. I am by FAR the fairest person on this site and there is a lot of love for Nate and he is by far the most popular Knick, and this notion that Gallinari is liked more than him is insane. There are a couple radicals on the site who trash him. There are some rational people who love him but point out his flaws. Then there are the rest of NY and the basketball world who love him without condition.
