we need to go full rebuild - i think deep down WE ALL know this. we need to bite the bullet and commit to it already but we just won't do it. which leads to false expectations by fans, which feeds the media frenzy, which puts undue pressure on the coach and the players which then feeds into the media frenzy which then riles the fans up. it's a vicious cycle but that's new york.

do not trade for kg.
move marbury, rose, AD, mo and just go full rebuild already.

there's no long term plan here as we just wasted 5 years to get to this point. if we suck it up for 1-2 more years and go full rebuild, we'd be much better off long-term but alas, that's not in the cards here.

Joe, Kobe missed a ton of games last year b/c of shoulder or w/e.

And what serious injuries has KG been plagued with that he's playing through?

And about T-Mac -- he's as injury PRONE as any other top notch player in the league.

And again -- Dirk is prone to having ankle problems as well.

It's not so much LAST year that matters. It's their past, their present, and their future.

KG being as tough as he is, playing through all these "injuries" that have gone unbeknownst to me, putting up the numbers he is in spite of it all, that goes a long way in my book.

I'll take KG over anyone but Duncan, Shaq, and Lebron...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I'd take Amare, Wade, JO'neal, Howard, Emeka, AK47, Tmac and a few others over KG at this point...

I remember that shoulder thing and I will concede that but both TMac and Dirk only missed 4 games last year. You can't have it both ways bro. You said they are injury prone, I point out the both missed 4 games each last year, then you say they're 'prone" to certain injuries totally discounting the fact they only missed 4 games...and implying they are going to miss so many more games down the road.

KG had wrist, elbow, and back problems I think last year....I had him on my Yahoo fantasy team...I wish I could recall all the minor injuries he had or the updates from Yahoo...oh well....

I don't know if I would put Emeka in that class yet, but he definately has the talent to get there.

^ That's ridiculous.

Amare isn't a floor leader and doesn't make anyone better. Granted, he's full of potential and in the making to become 1 of the most dominant forces this league has ever seen. So I can't complain in general.

But Wade, O'Neal, Howard....hell, Emeka! T-Mac?

Wow...

Have you seen KG play lately? Why do you think he's available and those other guys are untouchable? KG is not worth mortgaging the franchise for at this point. This is not NBA Live, this is the NBA. KG can't make this team a contender by himself, he never did it in Minnie.

Yes, I have watched KG lately.

I watched him basically put up a triple double the other night.

I watch him sacrifice his own output to get the team's offense flowing. Whether or not his teammates are on the same page as him isn't his fault. That's theirs.....and Mchales....and the coach's.

sounds a lot like some people's defense of Marbury...

by the way, KG had 24pts and 11rebs tonight. too bad the Wolves lost to the Oklahoma Hornets and David West scored 22pts and grabbed 13 rebs in KG's face. KG does not have it anymore, I promise you this. He's not as done as Webber was when the Sixers got him, but he's also not that far away from that stage of his career.

This is so crazy, bobs3304 really pointed out the difference in value between a KG acquisition at this point.

KG is a complete two way player (offensive/defensive), What he would bring to this franchise that you guys are missing, that's extremely invaluable is LEADERSHIP, and gives you a bonafide superstar in this league. He commands respect and will get it on most nights from teammates and opposition. The guy is still putting up ridiculous numbers 21ppg 10 boards and 5 dimes.

The people who dislike the trade "because of his age" are really missing the big picture. We have Stephon Marbury (28) and Larry Brown both w/ at least 5 yrs remaining. The window of opportunity will obviously close faster w/them then with our rookies... That being said, If we are choosing Stephon and LB as the faces of this franchise, we really can't afford to wait on the young ones to develop. Just look at tonight's game against Charlotte-- Case in point, Marbury has an almost flawless game, you couldn't really ask for a better night from your point guard. But as usual it was him and nobody else. Not saying that our rookies are'nt good.. but they are not ready.. this young team as presently constructed is not consistant.. Getting guys like KG and Wally (The forgotten part of this trade) aids in avoiding situations like tonight. We'd have dependable veterans that can take charge and make plays that prevent mental lapses.

Secondly most are overvaluing the likes of Amare and Dwight.
Outside of Lebron, no one else that was mentioned are superstars in this league that can be a go to guy, in game defining moments. So what if they are young and rising talents.. the same can be said about Channing Frye that doesn't make them better than KG, ESPECIALLY for this teams situation. Furthermore, KG is just flat out better than all of those guys. Not only does his ability and skill set surpass those guys that you mentioned as trade bait because of age... But his basketball IQ completely out classes them as well.

Regardless it seems that this is all empty rhetoric as such. The wolves have denied that talks have happened, or will happen for that matter in regards to a KG deal this year. SAS said on ESPN tonight that The Knicks have no interest in parting w/ Channing Frye. I guess we have to wait and see, but it seems unlikely.

No, sounds nothing like Marbury.

KG is a legit superstar and former MVP.

He's been to the WCF.

He's an 8 time All-Star.

He's a triple double threat every night.

As far as him "not having it anymore".......you're basing this on Wins and Losses and a couple rebounds less!!!???

Please tell me you atleast watched that game on NBATV or something. B/c if you didn't, then seriously shut up. Like I keep saying, it's not stats alone that matter - it's impact. Just KG's presence on the floor is enough for me.

And for the 2 games I've seen him this year he doesn't look like he's hiding an injury or lost a step. This is typical BS from fans from other teams that think they know whats up.

For every 29 y/o that is an injury away from retirement, there's a 29 y/o with 5 great years left in him...

OK, Dwight Howard had 5 points 7 boards tonight and watched Antoine Jamison drop 25 points and grab 16 rebs, whats your point?

This thread is SUCH masturbation.

Sitting here discussing if you would rather have Amare or Howard or KG. NOBODY OFFERED YOU AMARE OR HOWARD! YOU ARE NOT GETTING THEM!

KG is the one that's on the table. And he is AT his prime, not passed it.

And by the way, Frye is a good, maybe someday great offensive talent, but never amazing. He may be a decent rebounder and defender, but never great. KG is amazing on both ends.

Actually Panos, Amare and howard were brought up hypotheically as to who I wouls personally move Frye for, so therefore it really isn't important that KG is the one available. Besides so far Minnesota is saying he is not available....

Also just for arguments sake, when we got Steph 2 years ago, how many of us were touting him as available from the Suns? Just because you don't hear anything about anyone doesn't mean they are not available.
