Crawford was AWESOME as the Bulls PG too, right?

he would have no choice but to get his teammates involved in NY where he actually hss talent around him. Don't forget Marbury was selfish in Jersey too when he was 25. Crawford would become a good PG with time.

This team is being built for marbury to run. Give him the keys and see what he does.

He will either try and achieve to be a leader, or scowl at his mates for not being him!

Craw just does not have the meat to play the 2 at stretches and lay any D on the bigger 2's.

But few can guard him either!

One nice thing about the Q trade is that it gives us tremendous depth in the backcourt. We could be in a position of benefitting from our duplication of position should a playoff team lose a backcourt player to an injury.
I have made it clear how I feel about Marbury. I also feel that we should draft the best player available...even if a guard drops to us at 8. Of course, many of you don't wanna hear that....but Chris Paul at 8? YES!
I know that our roster is screaming for bigs, but we can address that through the MLE and possible trades. I think that Gadzuric is a servicable player at C and that we could get him since Milw will take Bogut. I agree with Briggs that we're trying to pattern our team after the Suns, so Big Z and slow-footed centers are no longer a fit.
I further agree with Briggs that we're not going anywhere for a while, so let's let this thing unfold gradually as we continue to upgrade our roster with the BPA who fits our system. We're gonna sukk for a while despite Madam Dido's constant raves of a Knick turnaround. This ain't Phoenix 2005...we don't have those pieces in place yet.
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

Nice post. Like your sowx, you need not have A-Rod to win it all, sometimes the answer is right there in right field the whole time.

Nalod,
In every sport, there are patterns of success. It is wise for Isiah to emulate what works. But, we ain't Phoenix!
If Theo Epstein were a basketball man and the Knick GM, I'd have little doubt that we'd rise to the top of the basketball world.
This guy and his sabremetric network is miles ahead of the other GMs in baseball. I just lost three-quarters of you. As we pull away from the dreck in the AL East, I'm excited to think that we have the BEST organization in baseball and this run is gonna last for a long time.......welcome back Curt Schilling. Yankees SUKKKK ROTFL!

Gunsnewing,

I am sorry, but I cannot believe you are making a case for Jamal Crawford as the Knicks Point Guard.

Crawford is not a point guard, has never been a point guard, and he never has played point guard. He has been PLAYED AT point guard for very short periods of time when in Chicago. (He played 4 season in CHI not 6.) Just because you are given the ball to dribble up the court in desperate times does not make you a point guard. (Remember when John Starks did his stints at PG?) In Crawford's last 2 years in CHI he played alongside Jay Williams and Kirk Heinrich, giving him very little chance to play point guard. Before those two, he was not the point guard either, the Bulls going through a ton of guys including Tyron Lue and Jalen Rose if my memory serves correctly.

he would have no choice but to get his teammates involved in NY where he actually hss talent around him. Don't forget Marbury was selfish in Jersey too when he was 25. Crawford would become a good PG with time.

When Marbury was 25 in Jersey he was the best player on his team and an all-star.

Force a chucker to become a point guard and then hope he becomes a true point guard in time? Not a recipe for success short or long term. Remember folks, a nasty handle does not make you a point guard.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I've had enough of Jamal and all of his 180LBS getting torched by opposing SG's. He has shown me enough creativity during the time he spent at PG lst year to make me believe at only 25 he can get better.

but I've said it before and I'll say it again. Right now we'd be better off having him as the combo guard off the bench for 30mins playing backup SG & PG with Q starting at SG and Ariza, Granger or graham at SF. As he becomes a better PG we can trade Marbury and his huge contract in its expiring year in 2008 when he is 33.

We need defense to balance out the starting lineup in the worst way! I could live with a starting lineup of marbury, crawford, Q, Taft & Bynum. If we can move up to around 20-23 and steal Taft our frontline will be set for the next 15yrs!

no way should starbury be traded. the organization has yet to surround star with the necessary talent. trading star at this point is unthinkable

RedSox won cuz they sold their soul last year to rid of Nomar, and the abortion trade to get A-rod. I tried to compliment your team, and insinuate that your series MVP was right there and needed not to be traded. But trying to sneak a diss in, well look at your sox, you stooped down to the Yanks level and rode the coat tails of Shilling!

Great series by the way, but along the way the sowx lost the think that In my mind made then endearing and thats building thru the farm and keeping players. Now the team is filled with retreads and are as common as many teams.
