That might be a stretch, KT's vertical was like 5 inches, most of the rebounds he got were defensive rebounds, just from being where he was supposed to be as a 4.

On offense, he was never close to the hoop for offensive boards, something a 4 is supposed to do.

I'd say Rose and JYD were both better than him, and probably Sweetney too.

I'm talking actuals, not potentials.

What does "actuals" mean?

Thomas averaged 10 boards in 38 minutes.

Rose averaged 5 boards in 20 minutes, or 10 boards in 40 minutes, not to mention nearly the same amount of offensive boards in half the time.

Jerome Williams averaged 4 boards in 15 minutes, meaning 9 boards in 40 minutes if he were given the time.

Was KT the best rebounder on the team? Certainly debatable, esp. considering his offensive rebounding numbers.

They won't lose that much, and Bonn brought up a great point with Richardson at the 3.

if you want to do a boards per 48 min, fine. Rose for 38 mins a game might not get the boards KT does because like JYD, their hustle players and you can't bring that energy for long stretches without passing out. KT started for a reason and sure, he didn't jump through the roof, but not every good rebounder does.

i would have liked to hear him say "i'm excited to play in NY & i want to show the Suns how big of a mistake they made in trading me"

Not me. That sounds like something TT would say. I'd rather he comes in and plays like a professional - no need to bad mouth your former team.

I never really saw him box anybody out either, reboudns just fell into his hands b/c the Knicks had nobody else to rebound.

Rose and JYD, on the other hand, do make plays, pursuing the ball of caroms, boxing people out, ripping the ball out of people's hands. I gave you per-40 minutes, the amount of time they'd see if they were given KT's minutes. I think that's only fair.

JYD played over 30 minutes last year only 3 times, and his rebounding numbers for those games were 10, 11, and 6. He's a good rebounder.

I'm not disagreeing with you, KT was a good rebounder, but a) he wasn't as good as his numbers indicate and b) the Knicks do have other players (JYD, Rose, now Richardson) who will make up for it.

We gained some beef in the guard positions. Q-rich is listed at a very generous 6'5" (much like John Starks).

He's help out with his all around game, for sure... but especially in the rebounding, aggression, and 3pt shooting departments. He'll draw fouls because of his style of play. This past season he functioned essentially as a 6th man gunner, tho I reckon he started most of the games.

I recall him killing us when he was on the Clippers and thinking to myself, "damn, why can't we draft guys like him..." (this is a game where he was torching Houston and Sprewell)

Can you believe he averaged around 10rpg during his college career?

From back in the day...

The big question is going to be if sweets or taylor are our 4 for next season, can they bring it and not embarrass themselves.

Sweets seems to start games with 2 fouls on him and Mo is a bit of a question mark in terms of D.

Hey, maybe Dampier is coming!

how is that badmouthing your former team? all i'm saying is i'd like to get a player w/a chip on his shoulder to prove to his former team that they made a mistake in trading him.

TT? he'd say something like "those guys jus' fugazy...i'ma throw down 40 on them next time i see them...nobody better get in my way"...& then he'd collect 2 quick fouls & end up with 5 pts. off 1-12 shooting on the night.

1 for 12 and 5 pts- that would mean he got to the line at least once- not sure that's TTs game.

I've seen no positive correlation between post trade statements like this and good play. The knicks have a long track record of saying
stupid things to the press that backfired:

Marbury - The best PG. (NOT)
Ewing - All the predictions (Most wrong)
Wilkins - The MJ stopper (MJ owned him after this)
TT - Everything (Makes himself look totally foolish)

AT least Half the guys that get traded here -I'm excited to be here and I'm going to take my game to another level blah, blah, blah. (And it don't mean a thing.)

I like guys who do their talking on the court (mostly with good play).

Since the deal is not yet official, I will not talk too much about it..However, let me say this much, if this trade goes down as plan, the Knicks will be a hell of a lot better. We will finally have a combo on the court that can put fear in people's heart. I didn't like the Craw and Marburry combo, because neither of them can really guard their opponents...Q and Marb would be two of the strongest backcourt players in the league...they are both built like pittbulls and they can both take the punishment, unlike Crawfford who is so skinny, everytime he penetrates I am affraid that he will brake something. Once this deal becomes official, look for Marburry and Isiah to get on the private jet and go to welcome this young cat to the Knicks...

I understand how he is feeling, because of the success he has just enjoyed. However, the year before his arrival, Phoenix's record wasn't any better than ours......He should look at that as a positive. Maybe the Knicks will have the same success as what Phoenix had with Q in the lineup. That is how thid dude should approach this situation..

I don't know about you, but I thought the exact same thing last year- we're going to be better, Crawford is going to mature and put pressure on the other team.

And we collapsed.

I ain't getting my hope up.

I never thought that Crawfford was worthy of our money...I never wanted Crawf in N.Y. I wanted JYD, because I knew that he was an excellent defender and I also love what he brings to the table every night. Crawff should have never been a Knicks....Isiah should have invested that money on a guy like Larry Hughes instead...

I think once he is embraced by the NY fans - he wont mind the trade as much...but he is on a much worse team - so I can see why he is down now. I think we will get better this offseason though, I have a little bit of faith left.

Isiah robbed them in this trade...I dont see KT improving their team to the point that losing Q was worth it...but who knows.

Let's see how Kurt and Amare get along, because Amare is known to be a knuckle head just like Kurt....
