That's what I am talking about Vmart....

He asked for a trade. Which means we weren't worthy of his services. Well to that I say let the Sweetney Era begin. He has whinned his way into the lineup bitched his way into the lineup all for what a player who is athletically limited and a 10-10 player. He played great defense only in the NYK fans eyes. Its about time the KNicks parted ways with KT they should have done it 3 years ago. The Knicks would be better for it. Now you guys will really enjoy the KNicks, great things are happening here.

Kurt Thomas is as true blue and orange as any Knick has been. He came to play everynite, played out of position almost every nite, played injured and did his best every single nite for the New York Knicks. Kurt your toughness and defense will be sorely missed by most Knicks fans (the ones who don't have their heads in their @$$'s and aren't grateful for just how much you've done here). Thankyou Kurt and best of luck in Phoenix.

take your backhanded insult & shove it up your ass...to hear some of you guys talk you'd think KT was the second coming of Patrick Ewing...should we retire his # now? gimme a break...he was a solid role player in his time, but this team wasn't going anywhere w/him as a starter & he didn't fit the mold Isiah was trying to achieve here at all...see ya later Kurt...thanks for the memories...whatever they are.

Nobody likes change but in this case its change I can live with. KT is a role player who was elevated to starter by default. If LJ wasn't forced to retire he would still be a backup. No need to make him out to be some great player that carried his team on his back for 50 win and playoffs because he isn't that and never did that.

The Knicks just got a 25 year old high flyer who has a serious game and you can't accept him on this team.

First off TMS, that post isn't worthy of a response, but I just thought I'd say that I didn't think there was anything unreasonable in my reply or anyone elses. Nobody is talking about him like he's Ewing. HE DID come to play every night. He did play hard every night. HE WAS and IS a solid role player. He DID help the team out more than hurt them. And next to Marbury, HE WAS the Knicks best player this year.

I know you didn't really like Kurt, but sheesh man.

We are already writing his epilog?

Ok,

Kurt came where after bad injury years in Miami and became a NEAR allstar. a tough intense competiter who could score.

Isiah rewarded him with a nice contract for his past and future services.

In all, it was a good relationship for both and I for one appreciate his efforts and straight up play.

I hope he does well and im the tradition of Ex knick front court players, he likely will be in the finals next year. Hopefully its against us!

I would happy for dice if the pistons win tonite! To go from almost retireing in you prime to winning a championship is a good thing to happen!

KT was all heart, personally I'm going to miss him and the knicks will no doubt miss his toughness.

Now lets get rid of Tim Thomas already

We were very luck to get Kurt, essentially for peanuts back in the late '90s. If he didn't get injured he might've had a much different career. As it happened he worked really hard to get to the point where he could still be a good threat offensively in addition to being a high effort player on the boards and on D. I think a lot of people expected him to be the next Oakley, because thats what NY expected out of its PFs and that might not have been fair.

Kurt was one of the few players to actually raise the level of his game during the "dark years." (the 2000's), and for that I will appreciate him.

I know you didn't really like Kurt, but sheesh man.

Who was a better player besides Marbury? Crawford? He couldn't play defense and his shot selection was absolutely abyssmal. KT played defense hard. He was never a good perimeter defender, but his low post D was always real good and his help was also good. Not all NBA, but still real good. Nobody else on the Knicks was quite as good on D, and next to Marbury, he was the most consistent on offense. Please explain to me how that's crazy? Is it crazy that yes, he was our second best player? You know it. Is it crazy that he's relied on as our best big man? Yep. But he did well in his role and I had no knocks on him. He did everything he could. Toast to Kurt.

I guess b/c he got a nice post about him by me, I think he's right there with the Ewings and Willis's though. *Sigh*

Goodbye Kurt. As said here you will be missed. Your post defense and blue collar mentally will be missed. Remember that time you screwed Riley over and he was so pissed he took time out of a press conference to talk about you. Great stuff. Your uncanny nack to get technicals in crunch minutes of games will be missed as well (Just listening to Mike Breen harp about your need to control your emotion was great), your pick and roll with Marbury will be miss as well. You the Blue and Orange well and was the one to really carry this torch after Ewing. I hope you find your way to Dallas as you always wanted. I won't wish you luck in winning a championship because that means it is one less for my Knicks but good luck.

That's why I didn't blame Marbury at all for the fact the team won only 33 games. Other than Marbury, no one on the team was good enough to be a starter. It's hard to compare Crawford and Kurt because they're so different, but both should be 6th men.

Kurt can be a starter on a team with a great PF or center. Oh wait wait, that's where he's headed right now. Phoenix may very well win more games next season than they did last, and it has nothing to do with Q being a better overall player than Kurt.

whatever they were indeed. I associate KT's name with 4 consecutive 30win seasons. When I think back to the last time we were a good team I remember Spree & Camby, when he wasnt injured being the greater reason for our success.

Again Kurt would've been a great PF to have coming off the bench for a true frontcourt player or starting next to Ewing, Shaq or Duncan. We tried to put together a real Frontline by trading for Dice but that backfired and we kept KT as our starting PF for longer than we wanted to.

just because i'm not crying over KT's departure doesn't mean i didn't appreciate the role he played on this team while he was here...but he was clearly not what i wanted as the starting PF if we were going to move forward w/Isiah's plan of getting younger & more athletic...i don't see anything in what i wrote that should be taken personally by you.

nice to know we agree on this we might've been the only ones who wanted Kurt gone 4yrs ago before everyone else jumped on the bandwagon this year

Looks like I hit the TMS softspot. I apologize for that comment TMS but I really think that people don't realize that Kurt was one of the few players that over the 7 years he was here came to play and played his heart out every night. I honestly can't think of that many other players I can say that about that played with Kurt in that timespan, he might not have been the best player but he did the most he could every game. Again I apologize for the backrooted, underhanded "diss"
