The Knicks can really use this type of tax to help them keep away from other teams dead wood players. Which the KNicks seem to love to get. I always thought of the Knicks as the most generous team in the NBA. What team takes other teams crap and is ok with it. You guessed it the Knicks. If this happens it will be the greatest thing because other teams that make these over priced stupid contract will suffer the most because this tax will definitely make the kNicks think twice. But the Knicks will get significantly better for it sort of like eating brochli.
